He continued his tour, walking with some difficulty while maintaining a slightly greater distance from visitors, and gradually relaxed again as he came into contact with other children.

There are two issues here.

1. Security. Those men that were supposed to protect the Pope should have been fired. No reasonable person pulls an 83 year old man like that. The Pope lost his balance and could have landed on the floor. No one with security following him should have been so exposed. Not even African head of state or American. That lady would be cooling her heels in detention.

I thought the same thing but when you watch the video, you can see that the security man gently tried to pry the womans hands off before the Pope lost his temper and slapped it away.

You cant expect security to jump absolutely every single time somebody touches the Pope; Im sure they have other security measures that are more subtle than just those guys

The title of "slapping" is misleading. It's more like a add taping of relating to rebuke. more or less. I just saw the vidoe.,The woman was almost dragging him in her direction which is direspectfull in itself. You don't drag a leader like that.

Aside many of you don't know leaders are not as gentle as we think. Its the image we want to see outside they portray. Underneath they are add and firm.if they have to hit you to direct they will. That is a coveted position, you don't get there by Being all nice and cuddly.
