I think it is absurd to suspend him. Im a christian too. Is my attendance at the chapel part of my academic grade? Saturdays should be a moment of rest. The university should be sued. If at the end of the day pardoned, local man should just work his transfer to any university of his choice. 1 Like |

Truly we re one in this country and we have religion telorance walai, but world is keeping quite over this nonsense from Christian? Muslim also have school and I have never hear or seen where Muslim force Christian to go to mosque in those schools, education is for all children here in Nigeria according to the law, but why school have to suspended a student from school because of religion are they the same? I think government should involve in this matter, was the school not build on government land that belongs to all of us? That building is it school or church? But latter Christian will come here and shouting Muslim force religion on people but yet no muslim ever force any student to go mosque I don't want to talk, am Yoruba Muslim we are the cool and calm that is why all this happened. Yoruba Christian pls let leave in peace and harmony that we live before, don't let us reject or build hate between ourselves, let school be school and church be church, pls 3 Likes |

Quality20:In Kano, Christian pupils both in primary and secondary schools (Government owned) do put on hijabs. We are not forced to attend their prayer and marry their girls, but have to live by certain rules outlined by them. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Birchi33: Madam you’re not getting the jerk. Adeleke University is a private university based on 7th day Adventist Church curriculum. You and I know that, And again nobody forced him to go there, he applied to the university by himself knowing fully well the university is Christian aligned. He got admitted and was given a handbook containing the rules and regulations and he still went ahead to pay the acceptance fees, And now he is complaining, pls be realistic for once. Madam I believe there is crescent university and some other Islamic universities even in the south west, the question you should ask is why didn’t he go there? Just like me using my hand going to buy form for crescent university and after I’d be admitted I will come in social media to complain that there are forcing me to do Islamic things. And don’t compare this to state government Abeg Nigeria to be a secular country but that secularism is only in the south because the north is full blown sharia laws (islamic) But when a southern governor mentions that his state is Christian all hell will be let loose. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Wendybrown: This is not a matter of being sentimental, it’s plain ridiculous that it was not mentioned on their school website that Adeleke university is a Christian school. Remember the website most times if the first point of contact for students, maybe I’m using the USA Uni as my own line of reasoning tho. I read the core value & mission and vision on their website and even tried exploring further but they projected the school like a secular school. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Jimiyung: People like you also argue without reasoning? To start with, is Adeleke in the same league like the Babcoks? Is Adeleke university owned by a church? During the granting of Adeleke university right by the NUC, was it labeled a religious owned institution? You might know more than me because I’ve searched almost everywhere and I haven’t got that link yet to ascertain that fact. 1 Like |

The rule says you must observe Sabbath. You appeal for exemptions was turn down. Now the school want to enforce it rule you are crying foul. There are countless Muslim universities (private)/in Nigeria. Go to one of them that will accommodate your religious inclination and leave them in peace. No body is forcing Saudi to allow Christian practice their religion openly. 6 Likes |

smailon: I can bet that they warned the young man but he deceived the school that he will abide by the rules & regulations of the school. This is a very simple issue. Muslim students who are not comfortable with Christianity should stop attending Christian schools & enrol in the many islamic universities we have in Nigeria. 5 Likes |

You are a religious bigot and your own bigotry is even more pronounced than the Islamic fanatics of the north. You are a Christian fanatics and you even chose religion above your tribe by calling for war among Muslim and Christina Yoruba. It’s either you’re from a different tribe that had already been accustomed to the Yoruba tradition or your family is from a mixed tribe. 1 Like |

Religion in this third world (country) is more dance out than it thought out. In a so-called and acclaimed secular state - barbaric, nepotism, prejudice and religion seclusion are still ride. Well, Nigeria education is of pseudo type where politics is the determinant factor, education is no longer a nation's bedrock, the so-called professors are nonetity that are satisfied with the stipend in the name of renumeration they're earning. It has blowned and we've seen the fowls' rumps, it's better you declare you your school an Evangelical one instead of you playing an ostrich and building a castle in the air. Veryliy, your cunning is haplessly helpless. |

Every Christian school in the world has rules that you must follow including attending the school chapel. If you are not interested, then go to a non faith based uni. It is very simple. You cant fight it because you signed a document saying you will obey every rule in the rulebook. We are just lawless in this country... |

davodyguy:Let me borrow what someone here said, the guy is "cancerous". Even in some private workplaces they make it compulsory for prayers to be offered and attended by all staff at certain periods during the week. Assuming he claims he wasn't aware initially, but a year into his programme when he noticed the compulsory nature of the prayer attendance and other faith based activities,if he really wants to prove he had an unshakeable faith in Islam,he should have quit the school, believing his god would get him another admission in another school based on how strong he stuck to his Muslim faith. 3 Likes |
