It is a very good thing to give them food but I think as a senator it will be better if you....
1. Create a system where by they are fed that way continually and taken care of.
2. Create a structure that gets them reformed and not just pass time in there.
3. Get them some of them out if possible.
4. Create employment or right business environment for them, which will deter them from committing crimes that will send them there.
5. Inspire and support them to go from prison to palace.

All these are within your powers as a federal law maker.

Well-intentioned gesture, but stupid all the same.

He can sponsor a bill for total overhaul of the prison system/process to eliminate issues like this, lobby his fellow senators for support and ensure such a bill becomes law. But no, our politicians are only in Abuja to steal as much as they can while pulling the wool over our eyes using vacuous initatives like this...
