When it comes to war, no nation is an easy win. Wars are more about economic, political and religous interests of the other countries that you think are spectators. Russia, China and the Arab nations will surely have interests in a war between Iran and the US.

All these events happening in Iraq and on Iraqi soil but the US is putting all of it on Iran is not helping. Iraqis attacked the US embassy, and I’m sure they got some support from the Iraqi military low key otherwise they won’t be able to break through the buffer zone.

An unstable Iran will further escalate the tension in the Middle East. That region will be unstable for everybody including Isreal, Saudi and other US allies.

I wish some issues can be better resolved with diplomacy. Obama would have been called a weakling if he solve this with diplomacy but I forgot that we have the Trump as the current president.

Bottom line: Isreal got what it wanted, an American and Iran confrontation. Saudi will lowkey be happy since they can’t deal with the Yemenis. Now, election will be based on this wars, Defence industry will make money... but more American lives will be sacrificed in another ENDLESS war.

Last time I checked, our troops were suppose to be back home from the endless wars.

Many people are actually ignorant just like the people advising Trump to start a war with Iran. Where did many of you think Iran got such a powerful radar that was used to drop the most sophisticated US drone last year? Russia, China with Iran already have a joint military drill. Just as Russia is giving US headaches in Venezuela, Syria, Libya and others, US would be engaging both China and Russia in Iran. Someone said US has military in Okinawa, those people are at the mercy of North Korea.

US would be stressed this time, it would be huge for them. At the moment and for the first time, US military is extremely short staffed. Besides, there are a number of structural adjustments in the US military. I still don't understand why Trump think fighting Iran is a wise decision.

This is terrible with great repercussions, Iraqis are already fed up with US attacking their country. Killing a guest of Iraqi government with no respect for international law is bad news.
The Iranians will respond, the man hit Soleimani is a charismatic personality in Iran and internationally.
He helped in defeating ISIS which Trump has been claiming all the credit to himself.

Even the US Congress has just called this assassination a bad decision

The crazy Ayayollah has been running his mouth like tap and threatening the US for so long now. They attacked a US military base and orchestrated an attack on the US embassy in Baghdad. Not to forget, they brought down a US military drone some months ago. Trump would have made America look very weak without a very strong response.

The way Iran was going, they gave Trump no option than to respond in kind. I just hope the Iraqis were carried along in planning the strike. As for Iran, I want to believe they’ve gotten the message clearly. If they continue with the unnecessary provocation, they will get it hot hot from the US.

Iran signed up to an agreement they are not keeping. the US have to pull out because of Iran violating terms of the agreement

did Iran not down a US drone a few months back?

More crises for Trump and an average American. This is unnecessary. Trump is committing a huge mistake by canceling the initial agreement reached with Iran.

Firstly, US can't even manage the ongoing crises she created in the past with Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Libya and others. Who's advising Trump? Crises in Libya is still a crisis in some parts of Europe. Germany already has millions of refugees from Syria. These are countries of smaller populations yet you seriously want to destabilize another country of 70-80 million people all at once.

The entire America with Europe would have a serious impact if Iran is set into crises. In fact, the entire world feel this impact because by the time 40 percent of oil output is cut off due to total blockage of Strait of Hormuz. The global market would respond immediately. This is not a wise choice. Even in Nigeria, a litre of petrol may go as far as N500

Are you aware that there is sanction on Iranian oil export. Check properly may be you want to refer to Saudi Arabia.

You people should stop deceiving yourselves. The US need this war and the republican needs it. Check history. Any unpopular president goes to war a year preceding the election year. The smart thing for iran to do is to ignore this attack and try diplomatic channel to resolve this. In an all out war, Russia and China will not come to Iran rescue. Those countries (USA, Russia and China) benefit from each other by working together. US will just use this war to shove up Trump's popularity and test their new war strength

It's good news for us if Iran can't sell crude.
Hopefully by the end of this year we'll be refining locally and the negative impact of exportation won't be felt. Remember, we made billions during the gulf war, only IBB stole it all.
To the issue. The guy had it coming when forces under him attacked an American Embassy few days ago. The US had long declare his group a terrorist organization and this is not the first time an attempt has been made at his life.
The Republicans have not been the type to shy away from any gulf war. Check history. Trump especially, right now, needs some form of distraction from local politics. Iran gave him the green light when the US Embassy was attacked.
My reservations was just that he was not the only one killed in the attack and the media deemed others inconsequential

Even America admire their resilience secretly.

Unfortunately, Iran is fighting with the wrong enemy.

The iran of the 70s were very progressive people.
Their women dressed like Americans wearing bikinis and pants on the beach.

America actually protected Iran from Iraq at a point in their history.
If Iran had not been taken over by Islamists and Mad Men, they could have been very very good friends with the west and would have gone very far.

It is not too late. Throw off the ayatollahs, get a progressive leader, swallow your pride and apologise to America and Israel
Destroy whatever nuclear ambitions you have and be free from sanctions.

That is the only sane thing to to do to guarantee their future.

Too much boast.

The United States still remains the ONLY country in the world that can properly project military power. You really think China and Russia are going to come to the aid of Iran?

Iran's greatest enemy is Saudi Arabia. They will be happy to join America. Let's not forget ISIS that hates Iran and can also be empowered to give Khomeini problems.

Where would oil tankers pass when they must pass through Strait of Hormuz that's is under Iranian Revolutionary guards? Which insurance or private shipping company would want to take such risks passing through war zone? Besides, the news of crises in that region would raise oil prices astronomically. In case you don't know, Nigeria's daily oil capacity is less than 3m
Nonsense.
The Strait of Hormuz is not under the IRG.
That is just propaganda.
Let them try to close it indefinitely and see what happens.
A new crisis will increase oil prices but not because of the reason you claimed.

war is not about size and population, China is 60 times bigger than Japan but yet Japan succeeded in invading and occupying China 1937 - 1945.

Finland is a small country and it defeated the soviet union which happens to be the largest nation on earth, this happen in the winter war of 1939 - 1940.

They failed to realize that Trump had an unsettled scores of with them over the last incident that he called off an attack at the last minute. They know that Trump will not hesitate to unleash the might of the US military on them especially as elections are about the corner. He cannot be seen as appearing weak
