tbaba1234: You came to this conclusion based on a match Omeruo had a bad day in the office at Laganes. Can you comfortable say Awaziem is a better CB in the SE jersies than Omeruo? 3 Likes 1 Share |

Icon4s: I reached this conclusion based on the Leganes games, i have seen. Awaziem seems to be on the ascendency, Omeruo seems to be on the decline. Someone raised a similar point after watching a leganes game, a few weeks back. As regards the super eagles, Awaziems is gradually becoming an important player 4 Likes |

Icon4s:Chief even in Laganes Omeruo is rated than Awaziem. Truly Omeruo had a woeful match yesterday and to be candid Awaziem had a better game but you know what some are waiting for this but i will never used a match to rate a player. Honestly it would be joyful if Awaziem is performing better than Omeruo meaning SE future is bright. 1 Like |

tbaba1234:Laganes games? pls can you give us your statistical analysis on how Awaziem is a better player than Omeruo this season. I remember Omeruo had injury this season which limited his appearance with SE and this gave Semi Ajayi a chance and also gave Awaziem good opportunity in Laganes. Despite his injury he still had 12 appearances while Awaziem had 9 appearances with Laganes but always happy seeing two Super Eagles players in Laganes starting lineups. But based on yesterday match i saw a very good Awaziem and poor Omeruo but nevertheless i will not pick Awaziem over Omeruo as CB. 2 Likes |

Kog45: My assertion is based on what i have seen with both players on the pitch. I am not even looking at stats. |

tbaba1234: Judging after a match? I think you know better than this If i may even go with you judging with yesterday game then you failed Omeruo was rated higher than awaziem on yesterday game 3 Likes |

Kog45: Why was omeruo rated higher when i checked ? Anyway their 2 should not start for eagles as i am okay with ajayi and ekong |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 9:09am On Jan 04, 2020 |
Kog45: No doubt it is expected that with time age will start counting against Omeruo's performances. But I don't think as of now Awaziem's rating is higher than that of Omeruo. Cc:Tbaba1234 1 Like |

tbaba1234: U truly are an aficionado who understands the game and never gets blinded by or become myopic due to stats. Omerou is bereft of that archetypal attributes of the stereotyped modern day center back, his style is too early 90s, little wonder most often than not u see him racking up numbers in clearances, than passes completed. He lacks pace and he is very susceptible on 1 vs 1s. Also it is a shame that a CB of his built and height is often found wanting aerially. Yes Awaziem still has things to improve on, but I am never comfortable with Omeruo as the guard, he is error prone and easily gets beaten by fleet footed forwards |

My SE best XI for the last decade (2010 to 2019) ....................Enyeama Ambrose.....Yobo....Ekong.....Echiejile ...................Ndidi ............................Mikel Musa............Iwobi..............V. Moses ....................Ighalo Ighalo because in the last 10yrs we have not had a consistently performing CF since after Yakubu (2010 WC): Ike Uche, Martins, Emenike, Ighalo. Ighalo just edged them. Osimhen has not had enough games yet to be rated in that league of CFs. Make una share una own 4 Likes 1 Share |

Icon4s: Ighalo and consistency in the same sentence? Ighalo's international stats are deceptive, his prodigality in front of goal, as an eagle is well documented, u guys rave about his little achievement bkus it came at the tail end of the decade. I can't quite fathom the fascination with his goals that could neither win us an AFCON nor get us past the group stage at the world cup, something Emenike did without breaking any sweat. Emenike's goals won us the AFCON after almost two decades, his goals got us to the confederations cup, his goals got us a world cup ticket, his all action game helped us record our first win at the world cup since the 90s/early2000s, that same all action game of his, helped us advance through the knockout stage at the world cup. Can u reel out what glories Ighalo's goals brought us, if not his personal glory of finishing as the highest goal scorer in an AFCON that saw us lose to the almighty Madagascar with him leading the charge. Well it is ur choice, but it is Emenike for me, bkus I attach IMPORTANCE to the EXPLOITS of a player before arriving at conclusions(ratings) 6 Likes 1 Share |

ChrisKels: If we are to go by what you are saying about ighalo seems emenike goal won us the afcon then ,Ndidi should not be there ekong should not be there also because oboabona in defence also won us afcon and even helped us qualify for the World Cup also Make we Kukuma put all the whole people wey help us qualify for World Cup nah and win afcon ,Sunday mba will be there over Iwobi Just because say you no like ighalo you change the judgement |

charlesemeka85:Play more in madrid? I laugh wickedly in igbo If you know the history of madrid and African players, you no go talk like that. Tho barca doesn't favour Africans that much either but at least to some extent. Eto'o, Keita and Yaya Toure all had succeessful/near successful careers in barca. Eto'o was even one time among the top 3 world best. Michael Essien was my best midfielder before he joined Madrid but you and I know how he ended up, some will blame it on injury tho. Remember Adebayor's spell with Madrid too Madrid would have been the best option for Osimen considering their style of play and the calibre of players they presently parade but other factors need to be considered which include philosophical and historical factors. Among the 3(Liv, Bar, Mad), I'll advise him to choose Barca. But Madrid is a better option than Liverpool tho - My opinion Thank you |
