Albany is the capital of New York state and it is also a city in New York, the same way Ikeja is a mini city and also the capital of Lagos state. A county is like a local govt in Nigeria, and each county in the US has its own law makers just like the law makers in Abuja. Legislator is another name for a law maker.

Nigerians and illiteracy is like one and two. Nigerians in America have one of the highest unemployment rates. Also Nigerians going to America have dropped by more than 20%. Nigerians have a high number of people in American prisons. this is what we Nigerians are good in vote for ourselves and suffer even in another man's land. In America right now Nigeria is number 9 African in employment. But Nigerians will tell you they have to vote for themselves. Once an illiterate is always an illiterate no matter what country they are in..

Not exactly. It is just like a Councillor. Councillor are the legislators at local government level. That's the Nigerian equivalent of the position this guy was elected to

The New York State Senate and the New York Assembly are equivalents of state house of assembly in Nigeria except that most States in the US use bicameral legislature.

because I know each state has its Senate just like our state hoa and mayor heads county and theirs county legislation are called city legislation like our Councillor.. all the same, nice sharing knowledge
