Cyberterror: Sure, it depends on the company dress code. If its allowed, fine and if not, she should abide by the term of contract. One don't bring a sensitive matter as religion into a contract binding agreement. There are also big organisations in Lagos that don't really allow hijab but allow the use of turban and those feminine islamic scarf just to cover their hair and at the same time, it makes them look decent and formal. The goal of the hijab to my understanding ( I might be wrong tho) is to cover her hair, why then is she making a fuse about it. I think understanding is profitable. 1 Like |

AmuDimpka: Try to talk to me with intellect please. I responded earlier to the guy who said she lied about been a convert to Islam. The guy opined she has always been a Muslim and she was lying about he new conversion to Islam. So I asked the guy if Folake Adebola is a Muslim name. What I’m trying to drive at was that she was a Christian before and it was true she converted to Islam. Do you get the argument now? Don’t just jump on mentions for typing sake. 1 Like |

If there is a specified company dress code which she is aware of and yet she went ahead to wear what she liked, then she is wrong and can be told to leave! A similar issue is also destroying the dress code of NYSC simply because some folks want to be overzealous in their beliefs! 4 Likes |

The purpose of the hijab is to cover the hair. That hair covering can be achieved by using a wig. That's what conservative Muslims did in Turkey when hijabs were still banned in public institutions. They simply shaved off their hair and wore a wig. The restaurant though overreacted. 1 Like |

drakeli: That name is a Christian name. The Muslims don’t bear that kind of name in its entirety like double abiso without at least an Arabic name to complement them. She would have at least got some Islamic name included if she had been a Muslim. I’m Yoruba so I know what I’m saying. |

She has already been apologized to and asked to return to work. "Tolerant" Nigerian Christians are still ranting and cussing. Does shooting another religion make you a better adherent of your religion? Is this what Jesus preached? 5 Likes 1 Share |

Nice resolution. She complied, went home then complained against the discrimination. The company then apologized. It's funny how (globally) people don't discriminate their clients or customers (the money makers) but discriminate against their staff. 2 Likes |

And mind you no one sack your oversized sister they give her an option and she choose the one she want, so why are you making it as if she's the victim? 2 Likes |
