Omobarca:do you know have taken a bike and he said he cant wait for me to get some ice cream in cold stone and I respect his opinion. I always wait for rider if they want to use atm. but I can never wait for you if u tell me you are going into the bank or into any fast food I will end the trip asap. go and tell an okada man to wait for u that u are going into the bank or any fast food then you will know how far. 5 Likes |

All these clout chasing and subtle innuendos should have stopped last year Jor. You don't tell a man how to handle a situation you were not a witness to. Like they say, no manual in life even twins don't live same life. 4 Likes |

izzou: Bros your conclusion is lit, just like we have very bad drivers too who just won't give a fućk. This environment is harsh already why make life harder for ourselves. I've read on this thread where a driver was compensated with around 40k or so for a job welll done. He went home to his wife and they enjoyed the bonus, some other day another mad rider fit jaapa with your 5k. A drivers perception towards his job would determine how he handles situations and instances. As for me i try as much as possible to be polite, although sometimes situations might warrant you get nasty. At a certain point in our lives, we would stop this job and hop on to something different to make a living. How would you feel when you cross path with people you've treated like trash just because you're driving them from point A to B. You don't have to be an ass licker to survive, just be professional. When uber still dey new, some people dey go down to open door for riders lol, some dey offer water, candy, gum, throw pillow etc. I never really see the point in all of that and i didn't do it. Yet my money dey enter and that is what matters most to me. My point here is that let's behave like human beings not some vexed creature that is waiting to dish out insults at any available rider or persons that come dia way. Which job person do wey dem no go try take advantage of you for this 9ja? If barber start to complain for you ehn, you go fear. Most important thing * My car and my sanity is still intact at the end of the day. 9 Likes |

Most of the posturing here are far different from what's obtainable from ehailing drivers in the real world. NL drivers represent about 0.75% of the ehailing world and thus gives a lopsided view of the whole system. Came back from my trip today and request for a ride, told the bolt driver that we will be doing about 5 stop overs. He was okay with it, his only request was I pay cash. He even helped me load our bags into his trunk, he wanted to do it alone but it's not my thing, I like to get involved. The guy was patient all through the stop overs, even when we overstay by like 10mins. When we got to my residence, he drove into the compound, helped us unload. The way he went about it is in stark contrast to the discussions you see of late here. You don't have to be rude cos someone was rude to you. Once you are providing services, you will meet a lot of misplaced aggressions but the way you carry yourself matters. Let us be a little more kind, everyone is fighting some inner battle. Your attitude towards a rude customer may be the needed catalyst for a change. Peace to us all 14 Likes 2 Shares |

Omobarca:@izzou, made a good painting with the the okada/rider’s scenario but there is a large difference when it comes to a Uber driver/rider because these are two different class of people. 1) 70-85% of okada riders are illiterates but the reverse is the case with Uber drivers. 2) 70-95% of okada passengers are literates, but this is different when it comes to Uber/bolt riders. And most “oloshos” girls are illiterate. So you don’t expect an Uber driver like @calabardick for an instance who works with an oil firm let’s assume mobile and earns maybe 850k/month and he does Uber just for fun and to explore and probably has a Master’s degree and probably going to the office one morning to take many insults, littering of his car by rider and time wasting from one low class “olosho” rider who even wants to waste his time withdrawing money on a long atm queque. It’s never gonna work. Something similar happened that made doctors went of a long strike during the last administration. Nurses and pharmacists were owning hospitals and then employing the services of even professional doctors simply because the nurses have the money or something else, meaning a king is being controlled and paid by a slave. How would you feel if you find yourself in such a situation? Also, you know say most of these okada riders are zombies especially the abokis, sorry for my choice of words pls but it’s .... couple with the fact that okada na just two legs him get and most of these guys just came in from May sokoto, jalingo and the rest and don’t know how to ride bikes very well. Any little tin like dis swam! Na ground u go find urself if u r very lucky u will come out with either a brush, cut or one dislocation, worst case amputated leg/hands or even dealt. So tell me why am educated man will not tell the guy to “small small”. Though I don’t support the idea of wasting too much time or the change finding issue and not showing appreciation and al of that. 1 Like |

peeps4u:Well played brother. This hustle no be fight all the time. I meet very good riders and we really get along that quite often I find it difficult to collect money from them. Yes I do that. Have had to wait more than 30 minutes while waiting for a rider's pizza to be ready (that was my last trip of that day) Rider was too nice that I couldn't say no. He later gave me extra 2k for the wait. There are also situations that I wouldn't wait more than a minute for a rider. Discretion should always be applied. No crime in waiting for a rider. It all depends on who, where, when and how such wait can affect your day. On another note, any driver that throws a rider's forgotten items away deserves to be castrated. You do not help people just because of what you will get back in return. That's one of the reasons this country is f**ked. I have returned a rider's Nokia touch light phone that doesn't even have a sim card in it. I didn't have rider's number and he didn't have mine because there was no call made before the trip. Determined to get the phone back to the rider after I noticed he was using that phone because of the contacts in it, I had to look through the phone contacts, saw names like "mummy" "daddy" "baby sister", called those numbers and that was how I was able to reach the rider. Returned the phone the next day, while he was so happy and grateful, he offered me money but I refused to accept it. The joy of seeing him and the rest of the family happy was more important to me. I will never also forget how his mother prayed for me on the phone. No amount of money can equate that. One lesson life has taught us is that you should do good because you have to and don't ever expect a reward for it. MONEY IS NOT EVERYTHING. For any good thing you do, trust me, there's always a greater reward that comes with it in another form when you least expect. It doesn't and will never stop you from reaching your goals. Don't forget also that there will always be setbacks in this business, they are a part and parcel of it, just like every other life venture. If you know what you are doing as a good business man, in as much as you try to avoid it, it will still come. You do not fight setbacks, you accept it and move on to the next inline. 17 Likes 2 Shares |

Perkins1:Young man! What’s your business with that? Is it your time or data I’m spending or is it your quote? Or did I in anyway offend you or anyone with my responds? Or am I the one with the most quotes here? Even if I am, is there any crime doing that? Let me remind you, when you where idle hunting for job, how did you spend your time? Did anyone ever attacked you or try to deduce a meaningless meaning to your SM activities just like you just did? You that just graduated few years ago and just got a job last year only heaven knows how you handled the dilemma of the offers you want to jump into somebody’s affairs without even knowing into to. How funny. Young man, learn to understand that SM and the real world/life are two different thing and should not be interchanged or misunderstood. In other ways, you’re entitled to your opinion. 1 Like |
