Hi, Thanks to everyone who have contributed meaningfully on this subject. It has really helped me on this PR journey. So I am in a dilemma and I need anybody to please provide relevant clarification. While waiting to receive PPR, I recently got a new job which pays much better than my old job. Was not expecting PPR anytime soon but as God would have it, PPR came on Dec 24, 2019. The plan was to do a soft landing around August 2020, return to naija, work till mid-2021 (to make more money) and leave permanently to Canada in 2021. However, I was reading about PR status and landing on the Canadian website and I see a part that says that one must stay for a period of 730days in the last five years to maintain one’s PR status. Just to clarify, can I stay outside Canada after soft landing for a period of 6months to 1 year? Would this affect my PR status? Please I would appreciate your advice on this issue. Thank you so much. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Pharmacists in the house... Please is there any thread on PEBC Exams here on Nairaland? I did check but did not find much here. There is just so much to read and with a pass rate of 47% (more than half of those who write the exams fail it) it will be great to have a thread where we (Nigerians) could discuss study tips, resources and ideas. I am happy to start one but need to be sure there isn't one already that I may have missed in my search. 1 Like |

The bolded section is inaccurate and very misleading. 730 days in 5 years can be achieved in multiple ways - there is no requirement to stay 5 months in any given year. NaijaCanadian28: 13 Likes |

Fyorgyn: Hyy. Actually they used to be several of such groups until the PEBC issued out a strict warning against participating in such groups. Part of the reason why the syllabus was changed, resulting in the low pass rate being witnessed today. Some of the Facebook grps are active though, but are now a shadow of themselves. |

Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Fyorgyn: 2:44pm On Jan 05, 2020 |
youngRx: Thanks YoungRx The strict warning is to those guys who collect thousands of CAD claiming they are "PEBC approved" and should not apply to a Nairaland study group to help each other and share ideas. This is the disclaimer "The Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada does not endorse any preparatory course of any kind whatsoever, and any pretence by an individual or group in making such a claim is liable to legal prosecution" There are many paid tutorial classes that are still thriving and there is nothing wrong with them. PEBC is only saying "Don't claim we gave you approval" The 47% I posted earlier is the average rate from 2015 to 2018. So no be today. Apologies if I am derailing this thread o but this is a subset of "Living in Canada". Canadian Pharmacists biko help us as we start this thread. I will be posting the link to the thread once I start it. Thanks 1 Like |

My fellow future Canadians, una well done. So i recently got PPR and I am trying to obtain as much as possible from this country but departure. I've been thinking, is the CIPM diploma of any relevance whatsoever in Canada (WES evaluated obviously). I am a HR personnel with more than 4 years of experience but have both my degrees in Engineering. You know the story: life, lemons, lemonade. Is CIPM relevant in Canada? 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello House, Did anyone successfully travel with Ugu leaves to Canny? Was it fresh or dried? and how was it done? Please help out. Thanks. |
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by SunshineD1: 5:47pm On Jan 05, 2020 |
Royalty1: I am still in Naija but I have prepared my dried ugwu leaves, uziza leaves and bitter leaves since last year. They are all chilling in zip lock bags and would be cling filmed and wrapped whenever we are set to go. Get a large amount of ugwu from the market, say 2000 worth or more because it is very expensive now because of the season. Let the market women slice for you. Spread in trays or sacks spread in a shaded place because direct sunlight will wilt it faster. Thank God it's harmattan period, so you are covered, it should be ready in a few days 11 Likes 9 Shares |

Fyorgyn: Nah, that wasn't the warning. The original warning from PEBC borders on copyright infringement and circulation of materials in such groups. Between, i was a member of those groups, so i know what i am talking about. I was there when they all began to close up. Also paid tutorials is not the same as a student discussion thread/group. PEBC is more concerned about the latter than the former, because its highly unlikely that you'll have such discussion groups without sharing one or two materials. The reference to the pass rate was just my own speculation. |
