Hello Everyone,
Please I need help, WES has sent an email and normal post twice to Unilag now for verification of my certificate and transcript but my contact in unilag keeps telling me they haven't seen it, the first one was sent in September.
Please does anyone know how I can move ahead from here or if anyone has a contact in the records office.

Thanks

Crude analysis of CRS trend in 2019 in the table below.

Morale of the story: we should continue to strive (and quickly too) to increase our individual CRSs with second degree, MSc, PhD, TEF, re-doing IELTS etc. Especially if we are in the 450 to 460-something range

Everyone hopes that scores will drop but the numbers seem to show otherwise....PNP is now very popular especially after SINP significantly expanded their Occupation in Demand List in 2019 (notice how CRS falls when the top line i.e. the number of PNP guys in the pool drops below 500)....also, there were approx 8 times more swimmers in the 451-600 range in Dec 2019 than there were in Jan 2019 (16,226 vs 1,919). **edit** 18,789 as of Jan 6 2020.

All the very best to all.
May God crown your efforts with His mercy.

Lol, am not obligated to do that cos this is not a formal setting neither am I writing an IELTS essay on Nairaland. So yes, I know the correct thing to write if I were to be in a formal setting.

No hard feelings too wink

Sorry, but I think you don't have to be in a formal setting before using the right English terminology.

You're coaching people on IELTS, it is only proper to lead by example. Demonstrating that people can learn from you even without being under your tutelage.

'Am' shouldn't be used to replace 'I'm', no matter the setting. It's just wrong English.

My thoughts.

Not really that sure. But,must transcript be given for any certificate acquired? I thought one can be assessed as far as the course is affiliated to the university. Thanks.

I fully concur. No matter the setting, proper grammar should always be used. You can't be teaching others to write an English exam and you use incorrect grammar. Seems pointless

Mr corrector, it is the "right" English terminology and not "write" as you have written. Correct yourself first before looking for who to correct
Again I maintain that I am not obligated in any way to use it. If you don't like it, that's your cup of tea, not mine. Even my students will testify that I would always tell them never to use 'am' in their writing. I've set all the example I need to going by the tons of people that have passed their IELTS writing, right here on this platform.
If you want to keep throwing shades, bring it on!

In regards to work experience for Canada immigration , does a family owned business count? ( the business is registered with CAC)

Hmmmm........Ordinarily I would have just let this lie but for my name that was mentioned. It's normal and acceptable if you say you don't learn anything from the group because not everyone on the group are dedicated. The good thing is, you still passed and it's our joy trust me. And with the over 500 IELTS success WE have recorded since I created the group, C'mmon! If to you, we're not impactful, I bet there are several that will say otherwise even on this our platform.

All the best boss. May all our dreams come true.

Just do eyes right and move on.

Pls, am very confused about my Neco certificate. Am processing Canada work visa. And I have only Neco statement of result issued by my school. Pls can I use my Neco statement of result or my Original Neco Certificate.
Are you the one processing the work visa by yourself or is someone processing it for you? What do you need the NECO certificate for? Is it for credential evaluation or to submit to Canadian Government?

It can be used as long as you have adequate proof that the business is authentic and running and you were working there and receiving a salary (bank statement or cash certificate). Also you need evidence from clients. Functional address etc

Okay na. Cram "tips and tricks" and land in Canada first. When finding a job or communicating becomes difficult, you'll understand.

You think Canadas' requirement for IELTS is just a hurdle for immigration purposes? Their two main languages are English and French. You must be able to communicate effectively in either language. I've seen posts and videos about how difficult it is for foreigners to assimilate there because their English is bad, especially in speaking and writing. Using good grammar in your CV and speaking well to a recruiter at a job interview there can make the difference between you and another person seeking the same job being hired.
The little things matter and "anything that works" won't cut it most times.
