Daily Mail reports that the rockets fired at the Embassy hit an apartment complex instead, killing civilians.

According to residents, three explosions rang out, heard inside the heavily-fortified Green Zone, home to the US Embassy and the seat of Iraq’s government.

This is following growing tension between the United States and Iran over the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.

Reports say that Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ elite Quds Force, was killed by the United States forces.

This is following growing tension between the United States and Iran over the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.

Reports say that Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ elite Quds Force, was killed by the United States forces.

The top Iranian General was killed “at the direction” of Donald Trump, the United States President.

Speaking on Soleimani’s death, a Pentagon statement said, “At the direction of the President, the US military has taken decisive defensive action to protect US personnel abroad by killing Qasem Soleimani.”

The statement added that General Soleimani approved the attacks on the embassy.

“This strike was aimed at deterring future Iranian attack plans.

“The United States will continue to take all necessary action to protect our people and our interests wherever they are around the world,” the statement added.

Just for the worthless "likes" and "shares" right?

Btw, Iran is predominantly shia. And I thought igbos support shiite because they practise liberal Islam

Or all those support for Shiite Elzakzaki involving processions including carrying of banners are just some of those exhibitions of hatred for maj gen Buhari?

I have been following this development recently and couldn't concentrate much in the office. I noticed that both US and Iran are now faced with the reality of war. Trump seems to be more troubled with the way he keeps mentioning how strong they are, how much they spent etc to send fears into the hearts of Iranians.

I also noticed that the heritage sites Trump threatened to bomb also touched the Iranians almost more than the assassinated General. Trump has successfully cornered himself. I just learned that the Europeans were forced to make another round of statements supporting him amid fears of attack on their citizens.

Also, intelligent reports also suggest that North Korea may unexpected cause provocation amid the whole thing dragging China and Russia in from the region. There are lives at stake and no one knows where or what the world would look like in 12 months time.

Lastly, I could also see that several ignorant people are abusing calling the late general names; this is uncalled for and it's very unfair. The man worked so hard to protect Iraqis from ISIS a terrorist organization United States founded until they broke apart. The United States should be questioned for creating and empowering terrorist organizations across the world.

It's obvious that the first loser is United States, oil production in Iraq has been stopped. The oil from this country is used to service their military bases in the middle east. However, Saudi Arabia is expected to make supply as a contribution. Other big loss is falling out of Iraq with the US. It would be difficult for US operating in such an hostile environment. I hate oppressors.
