Kudos to Awka for making it a city to visit and imprinting Anambra into the consciousness of Nigerians just like Onitsha and Nnewi had been doing for years in their areas of strength; transport, commerce and industries 6 Likes |

Anambra state Government under Obianos regime should plz dualize major roads in the state...am not happy seeing any government constructing any major roads without dualizing it...this is where Anambra Governor is misbehaving...major roads in Onitsha should be dualize..for instance... 3-3 by Nkwelle to express way.... Zik Avenue...Awka road to main market..pH road..ose road from bridge head to main market through Biafran market..Ezeiweka road to owerri road..nkpor old road to ogidi....oguta road Onitsha..etc.... Same thing goes to Awka and Nnewi...Anambra state Government should construct dual lane that will link Awka and Nnewi...and also dualize Nnewi Oba old road which have link to Onitsha owerri road from the beginning to end...is federal road but is situated in the state and happen to be one of the major road to enter into the lion city of Nnewi... Anambra state government should dualize this road which started from Okija junction and passes through Ozubulu, Nnewi city,,Nnewichi,,Ojoto,, Oba to Onitsha Owerri road...we are sick and tired of all this single lanes everywhere in the state at this (21st century) ..single lane doesn't brings out Face and beauty of any city... If Anambra state government should endeavor to dualize all the major roads in the state ..then you see many imaging urban cities coming up in Anambra...Imaging when dua motor lanes pass through all the sub Town of all this towns ...then u will witness the real urban expansions.... Then towns like Nnobi etc, that will be the hosts of the dualized motor lane from Nnewi to Awka will witness development and more urbanization... This will Change the face of Anambra state....pls God give us intelligent Governor who will dualize major roads in our urban areas and link them to other roads....any city without dual autobahns is like a clap..in the morden world today...look at Nnewi and Ekwuluobia with all her potentials, lacks dualize autobahn ....this is sacrilege at the highest order...imaging how attractive and bigger Nnewi and Ekwuluobia will become when her major entrance roads are been dualized and linked to near by city....God pls give us Governor that will end this law of constructing single lanes.... Pls we need a man that will dualize Anambra roads....this is only where I ranked umahi of Ebonyi state...umahi is dualizing Abakaliki to Enugu federal high way...he is also dualizing Abakaliki to Afikpo...afikpo...Nsuka...and some other growing urban towns in East today even orlu..have dual Lane's... But Look at Nnewi and Ekwululobia that will be one of the future busiest cities in the east lacks this...am not happy each time I remember this...I don't know what it will take our government to dualize the major roads in our cities with the ones in the growing urban towns in our lovely state...Anambra is great...God bless the light of the nation..God bless Anambra state government and her citizens.... Pls pray for this to come to pass...or let our government know the importance of dualizing a single lane...thanks... 1 Like |

Umunze Erosion/ Flood Control And Road Improvement Works, Orumba South, Has Been Commissioned And Handed Over To The People. By Emmanuel Okonkwo (ABS News) The Federal government has commissioned and handed over the Umunze Erosion/Flood Control and Road Improvement Works to the people Umunze, in Orumba South council area. The project involved the construction of a total length of 3.30km with 10m wide double coated asphaltic pavement with line drains on both sides. The road has total of 52m of 900mm single cell concrete pipe culverts, 35m of 900mm double cells concrete pipe culverts as cross culvert, with assess culverts strategically and purposefully positioned. Speaking, President Muhammadu Buhari represented by the State Minister of Environment, Honourable Sharon Ikeazor said the project is one of the numerous projects Anambra state will benefit from his administration before it elapses. President Buhari assured that his government will keep given all parts of the country a sense of belonging through equitable distribution of democracy dividend and infrastructural development across the country. In a remark, the Anambra state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano represented by the Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke appreciated President Buhari on the various interventions of his government in Anambra lately, especially as it concerns erosion related issues, as he identified erosion as one of the major challenge the state is facing. The Governor expressed the hope that Anambra will keep benefitting from the Federal government as there are still many problems to be addressed in the state.

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has expressed “immense satisfaction with Anambra people all over the world” for heeding his call for massive investments in the state. The satisfaction is contained in a statement in Awka today by the state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C. Don Adinuba. The commissioner disclosed that Chief Obiano and his economic team have since the new year been studying and analyzing short- term reports from all parts of the state on the state’s economy. “We are deeply impressed by the renewed confidence in the policy of the state administration in the last two years, as all the ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) are daily inundated by an increasing number of organizations and individuals throughout Nigeria and beyond that want to invest in our state”, Governor Obi declared. “Most of them may not be well known names or brands and, therefore, do not often attract media headlines, but they certainly mean business. “Some are establishing branches of their businesses here and some are shutting down their businesses elsewhere to establish them. “They range from furniture makers to producers of bottled water to modern supermarket owners to hoteliers, to restaurateurs to bakers to microfinance promoters to sophisticated furniture makers to manufacturers of toiletries like liquid soaps and producers of building materials”. Governor Obiano described the “unprecedented interest in home investments as a robust response to the state government’s Aku Luo Uno policy”, known as Think Home. The governor said that the new huge investment drive has seen land in particular appreciate in most places in the state, citing the example of Ihiala where a plot of land measuring 100 by 50 metres has in the last two years moved from 10 million to 50 million naira in value. “This is impressive by any standard in the world”, the Anambra chief executive declared. The people, he said, bought into our Think Home policy because they see tremendous value in it. “They are driven by patriotism and by market forces”, he argued. “Those who invest in Anambra State now make more profits than those who invest elsewhere. “Labour is cheaper here, though of great quality. Security is excellent. Together with the Transmission Company of Nigeria and the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company as well as the National Integrated Power Project, we are attacking electricity deficit in Anambra State in a way no government has done in our history.” Governor Obiano pledged that the state would see more radical development in the new year, even though the state receives one of the lowest allocations from the federation account monthly. “Our limited resources”, he observed”, “have not stopped us from beating other states hands down in areas like education and security as well as in the rate of rice development, nor have they stopped us from being the first state to pay salaries, allowances and pensions every month. “We will continue to be guided by values like integrity, honesty, service above self and the common good as well as solidarity with the less privileged. “We will, in addition, continue to employ the best strategy to make Anambra remain the most competitive state in Nigeria, so that it will remain in every ramification truly the Light of the Nation”. Signed C. Don Adinuba Commissioner for Information & Public Enlightenment. 1 Like |
