Minimum wage has always been gateway to inflation in Nigeria's economy. Checking chronology pattern of minimum wage and inflation duet, one will see that there is this one-one correspondence and dependency between the two, one greatly effects another. Solution to workers financial problems is by no means upward review of minimum wage, but by total price control of goods and services. Higher minimum wage means more cash, less value that legal tenders possess and constant market evaluation. Things will always balance up to remain as it was before. What N10 will buy 10years ago, N100 will buy it this present day, so what is the point? 60 Likes 5 Shares |

So ebonyi is the only state from our south east that Buhari allowed to pay this minimum wage? It is getting more obvious that tyrant Buhari hates we igbos with passion. Is it because we preffered our southern athifku to come save us? 37 Likes 2 Shares |

So just two states can pay minimum wage in the whole of the south. If as much as 8 states can pay up north then our governors in the south are just vagabonds and parasites. If Rivers, Akwa ibom, Bayelsa and Ogun couldn't pay with huge allocations on monthly basis then south is automatically in problem. 25 Likes 2 Shares |

I think the inclusion of Ebonyi is very misleading. I am right here in Ebonyi and a Civil Servant told me that what was agreed on was an upward review of the status quo, not the payment of the exact 30K As it is now, Ebonyi State's Civil Servants are one the least remunerated in the country. A Graduate enlisted in the State's Teaching Service, here, collects as low as 27K monthly. I am serving here and my above statement is based on the discussions I had with the Public Schools' Teachers who are B.Sc/B.Ed graduates 8 Likes 1 Share |
