Condition of the work: The owner specifically stressed on achieving this with a rigid budget, we believe to achieve this with few adjustments but there is an existing old structure which cannot be part of the new structure because of the assessment carry out on the old building.

However, the management of the estate could not have us demolish it before raising the the new one, we intend demolishing the old structure as we erect the new one strategically.

It was meant to be a remodeling but on a second thought and with the owners consent we are building a new structure entirely..

The nature of the soil here (very stony) means there will be no need for DPM though due to the cost adjustments it wasn't in the schedule.

However, casting all the way...

The housing cooperation in charge of the estate refused our intended plans of total demolition insisting on renovation not building a fresh house with a different house pattern in the estate so we decided to tread with caution.

We plan to build to roofing stage then we demolish the old structure that is already in the centre as advised by one of the housing officials.

So we won't incorporate it.

As a low cost project we used the economy specification:

1. Rod:

12mm ( for column and base)
10mm ( for lintels ) 3bars
6mm ( for column and lintel ring)

2. Coarse aggregate:

½ inch local stone
Gravel

3. Fine aggregate:

Sharp water sand

4. Binder :

supaset cement


5. Wood:

Irregular plank and Purline.
12ft bamboo.

6. Cast Mixture ratio:

A concrete mix ratio of 1 : 5 : 6 which falls below concrete grade C-10
