bankyh1905: What an ingeniously hilarious script! Congratulations to you and your family. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. You score 10/10. Go forth and prosper in our new home.
Congratulations dear. I'm happy for you. Please I need assistance from anyone that can help me. I am stuck between applying under these 2 NOCs; I work as a Web Developer (2175) and Digital Marketer (1123). Please is there a way I can confirm which of them is of higher demand in Canada and apply under that NOC? Thank you in advance |

Thank you so much I appreciate MissyVee007: Either one will work. But an advantage of BC is if you have practiced very hard and are confident that your results dont reflect your ability, a remark would cost 15k. While a remark with IDP is about 48k. Of course if your score changes, you will be refunded. I used BC for my test and it was very organised, individual headphones (not speakers) and there wasn't really a crowd. Still awaiting my 15k refund.
I’d say you need to practice all as much as you can. I think the writing might need a bit more because you can't get the answers while practicing, unlike reading and writing. Use IELTS Jay and IELTS Liz on YouTube for writing practice and you will do well.

So i recently got PPR and I am trying to obtain as much as possible from this country but departure. I've been thinking, is the CIPM diploma of any relevance whatsoever in Canada (WES evaluated obviously).
I am a HR personnel with more than 4 years of experience but have both my degrees in Engineering. You know the story: life, lemons, lemonade.
Is CIPM relevant in Canada? |

ITA v1: Oct 29th, 2018 Medicals: Nov 8th, 2018 Used POF for business … ITA v3: April 17th, 2019 (CRS: 458) AOR: May 27th MEP/BIL: July 8th/9th Medical Expired: Nov 8th Baby: Nov 10th CSE for baby: Nov 11th CE/CPC Email: Nov 18th/19th ADR for Baby: Nov 22th ADR for IMM0008: Dec 5th Baby UCI: Dec 7th MEP v2: Dec 19th ADR for updated POF: Dec 24th PPR: Jan 3rd VO: Ottawa…found out today.
Why Canada?
I have had family and friends relocate abroad but never really considered it cuz I had previously lived abroad during MSc. and didn’t stay back due to some reasons. My wife as well had no abroad leanings beyond vacations. Working in Nigeria wasn’t easy; came close to a number of big jobs but didn’t get selected at final AC stage. The “small” companies I worked for had issues paying salaries on time or at all. I quit my job, archived my CV and focused on building my business in Nigeria. However, an issue that rendered me immobile (unable to make money too) for some days, made me realize the benefits of a country that considers the healthcare and welfare of its citizens paramount (go NDP!).
What Canada?
ECA: WES was a breeze for me due to abroad MSc. I didn’t include my Nigerian degree. 21st, July – 17th Sep, 2018. My wife’s own took much longer cuz of Naija factor but we didn’t use it in the end cuz points were enough. My kid didn’t do at all cuz points were enough.
IELTS: I already posted my IELTS story in part 5 . 29th Sept, 2018 – L 9, R 9, S 8, W 7.5. My wife didn’t write cuz points were enough. My kid didn’t write cuz kids don’t listen.
ITA v1: We got our first ITA on Oct 29th, 2018 but rejected it cuz I had to use POF for business.
Medical v1: We had our medicals on Nov 8th, 2018. Mine went smoothly. During our doctor interview, I mentioned my asthma history while my wife told him about her thyroid gland history. He said hers wasn’t an issue according to the system/software but he would double-check and get back to us. The waiting period was filled with anxiety. The next day, the nurse called to inform us that we passed. My kid did his medicals…yeah! finally contributing when points are not being taken.
ITA v3: April 17th, 2018.
POF: It took a while to return to our account. Pls blame my clients, they are not alright…all right. We had our funds in a joint (just my wife and I...my kid wasn’t happy about being excluded cuz he definitely contributed money) Stanbic Mutual Funds account. I logged in and printed our account statement in PDF, combined it with the scanned letter from Stanbic.
NOC: Initially selected 2147 based on my previous job titles, but when I read the rules and found out that job role trumps trudeaus job title, I switched to 2281. My former offices owed it to me (literally and financially) to “follow my advice” on how to structure the letters.
LoE: My letter was 63 pages long…attached docs inclusive oh. I explained every document uploaded in placeholders and attached to the LoE. Major explanations: i- POF: I felt I had to explain the source of POF cuz it came in bulk few days after/before ITAv3. I attached statements from my company account, CAC docs, biz docs (Purchase Orders, Contracts, etc.) ii- Wife’s name: My wife had been using a shortened version of her name on ALL her official documents except her birth certificate which has the spiritual version. Her change of name after marriage was from her shortened version to her current name.
When Canada?
AOR/Post AOR: May 27th, 2019 The wait was pretty chill for me as I have previously handled visa applications all by myself. I registered on immitracker and saw people going green in 69 days…we started praying for a speedy conclusion. My wife occasionally asked for updates…but the frequency increased towards the end of 2019 as we needed to plan 2020. My kid didn’t ask for updates at the beginning…neither at the middle nor the end. I’m beginning to suspect he doesn’t know what’s going on. I joined the April/May AOR WhatsApp group around this time. Our account was pretty uneventful till our medical expired Nov 8th 2019…ghost update. I read some people’s stories on canadavisa forum where they got their medicals extended so we were hopeful. On Nov 10th, my wife gave birth to another kid who is also enjoying points he didn’t contribute to. We raised a CSE the following day etc (see timeline). IOM was kind enough to schedule us for the baby’s medical a day after baby’s passport was ready. I made a mistake when signing the IMM0008 form so we got an ADR for it. Baby’s UCI was ready on Dec 7th. Medical v2 (entire family excluding new baby) requested on Dec 10th. MEPv2 on Dec 19th. Got an ADR for updated POF even though I included it when uploading docs in response to ADR for Baby. We received the PPR email on Jan 3rd, 2020.
How Canada?
Will find out after landing.
We are saying a big thank you to all those that answered our questions and pointed us in the right direction. We appreciate all the positive messages in response to my application status updates. We pray everyone’s PR dream is fulfilled.
God bless!

When I see comments like this I jus don’t know what to say. The sky is wide enough for every bird to fly in and flourish. Why worry and keep staying on the side line? Check your CRS score, are you qualified ? How can you be more competitive among the crowd? I think these are more important questions you need to be asking yourself Cheers 21 Likes |

I have been following this thread since last year and I appreciate people that initiate this group and support people. I am starting my process this year. My wife the primary applicant and me the secondary applicant.
THESE ARE MY QUESTION,
1. i will only need to evaluate my wife MSC and not both BSC and MSC? 2. i the secondary applicant will also evaluate my Bsc too? 3. my wife and I run businesses (i'm an interior designer and also an electrical engineer) she also has her business too. We both don't have any evidence of salary or so, because we receive alerts of business transaction in our bank account. WILL THIS AFFECT US CHOOSING OUR NOC?
I WILL APPRECIATE A KIND RESPONSE. THANKS |
