Building them n go back to living in slums?

What are ordinary kenyans doing?

They dont build it.. foreign investors does and foreigners fill the void....
No native Kenyan is financially capable to build luxury homes...that is why they are used to slums...little wonder why they hold the slum capital title in nairoslum

Do you have any empirical data to support this asinine allegation? World-class properties in places like Nairobi or Joburg or Cape town attract buyers from all over the world. Only the moronic would think that small segment of housing define the housing or real estate sector of a country.

South Africa may be a middle class country but it's albatross remains it's mostly poorly educated populace - and it manifest in most of the South Africans online. I dare say there is not much difference btw a south african and a nigerian when it come to educational outcome.

https://www.biznews.com/africa/2018/03/05/south-africa-kenya-education-schooling

What can South Africa learn from kenya.

To get a sense of Kenya’s historical overperformance, consider the 2007 results of standardised tests for sixth graders conducted by the Southern and East African Consortium for Monitoring Educational Quality. Kenya’s average score was 557 points. That’s well above South Africa’s average of 495 points. Kenyan children’s basic literacy and numeracy skills were stronger than South Africa’s.

In an email exchange with me, Dr Ben Piper, a seasoned educational specialist and long-term resident in Nairobi, identified some key things that he finds remarkable in Kenya:

…[I]n rural Kenya there is an expectation for kids to learn and be able to have basic skills … Exam results are far more readily available than in other countries in the region. The ‘mean scores’ for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and its equivalent at secondary school are posted in every school and over time so that trends can be seen. Head teachers are held accountable; paraded around the community if they did well, or literally banned from school and kicked out if they did badly.

If your parents were kenyan - this is what they would have done to your school - for failing to impart knowledge and skills required to function in 21st century.Closed the school - and beat up the teachers smiley smiley smiley

Why do I have this feeling that you are trying to place Kenya over SA.....

Kenya must be really great in your mind .....

Whilst KQ IS stick with three loss making aircrafts for 53m moronic population A state owned airport in Nigeria"IBOM" THAT OPEN 11 months ago has already grown to 5 aircraft from the two aircraft it intially started off with....did I forget to say the state is about 1m in pop but it I seriously kicking laggard loss making as grin
Before 2022 the airline should have commence international routes..

Ibom Government Acquires Two New Aircraft For Ibom Air

The Akwa Ibom State Government has acquired two new aircraft for Ibom Airlines to make a total of five aircraft owned by the state.

Chairman of Ibom Air, Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga (rtd), said during a press conference with newsmen in Uyo that the new aircraft would be unveiled this January.

He said Ibom Air had made about 3,000 flights since it began operations in June, and is now flying more routes.

Nkanga explained that before 2023, the state would float 10 aircraft, adding that the government had invested a lot in the aviation business to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state.

He revealed that the coming of Ibom Air had brought substantial economic improvement to the state. “Within these eight months, we will have five aircraft.

Towards the end of last year, possibly by October, we are expecting to add about two more aircraft to the existing three.

We did that because it was towards the Yuletide and we expected more people to travel.

But there was a little delay. “Additional two aircraft are arriving this January.

Within these eight months, we will have five aircraft. We have operated about 3,000 flight.

We have increased our routes, because when we first started, it was Uyo to Lagos and Uyo to Abuja. We have since added Abuja to Lagos and Lagos to Abuja.

“We have done enough to make on time departure and we have made about 97percent on time departure. “Before the end of this administration, we should be able to acquire 10 aircraft.

That is the target, before 2022 we should expand the domestic, regional and international routes,” he stated

Honestly byou are right...for instance the Kenyans can name every road in their country just merely taking a quick glance of a photo ...plus they know every road project and housing project going on the there

So their government hypes every minor thing happening, is it development is so little that everytime a 5km road is made it calls for national news?

If you go by this thread alone - you rarely find that many (or any) Kenyan making the kind of obtuse, bone-headed statements we often read here and shake our heads in disbelief. It is all about Sub-Saharan education failing to impart the basic critical thinking skills. To imagine most of them are graduate of JAMB ( smiley )

We should be reading more of these kenyan news in Africa if we were to take education SERIOUSLY.

Headteacher mercilessly beaten for failing kids.

Headmaster kills himself as parents attack teachers over primary results

A headteacher committed suicide and scores of others were roughed up by irate parents protesting against poor results in last year’s KCPE examination.

One school head was badly injured, another was dragged out of his office and warned never to set foot in the school.

Six others were locked out of their offices by angry parents as the new school term started.

In a number of schools across the country, headteachers just went into hiding, fearing attacks from parents after their schools performed poorly, raising serious questions about the safety of teachers and school administrators.

Animals! And you are not ashamed to post this here? Villagers killing teachers when their children fail because the Kenyan system is failing.

if Nigeria and Nigerians didn't rise when oil was 100 dollars plus a barrel what miracle will 70 dollars do.. kindly quickly evolve..even if it means sitting on Asante golden stool..do it..for mother africa
When oil was $100 Nigeria's GDP grew at an average of 8% for ten years! There were jobs created and wealth made. Nigeria then had Africa's largest economy and Lagos GDP alone grew to be bigger than Little India's economy. wink

Now, we depend more on agriculture and services. Today, we are Africa's largest producer of rice, second only to South Africa in chicken and maize. Nigeria's fourth largest bank is like Kenya's biggest bank. grin

If oil rises as high as $70 and stays there for long, then you can expect Nigeria's GDP to grow by at least 5% as from this year and higher by 2021 and beyond.

Nigeria is not Little India where the fake economy is growing and people are losing jobs. Kenya is an anomaly. grin

Actually the poverty and deprivation was always there. My sis used to live in L.A. late 2000s and local TV affiliates NOT NATIONAL OR STATE TV STATIONS reported some startling facts on inner city schools.
They'd completely run out of basic consumables! Teachers were buying chalk and toilet paper. At the same time all the films showing the gangsta lifestyle weren't revealing this. However now ishyts so bad it can't be hidden!
Check on California homelessness on yt-shocking!?
Yes poverty is there in America...California is shocker...guys lining streets an stuff

check ths:

California
• GDP: $2.6 trillion
• Country w/ similar GDP: India ($2.6 trillion)
• Calif. population: 39.5 million (India: 1.3 billion)
• Calif. GDP per capita: $65,160 (India: $1,965)

an still we got homelessness
