@Adjo10 Feliz anos novo I wanted to know applying for a permanent residence is it different from applying for a family reunion visa in Brazil.. They both very similar |

juliusocean: Happy new year juliusocean. Hope this year is full of blessings to all of us. There is nothing like family reunion visa inside Brazil. Like the name “visa” suggests, visas are only issued outside the country you want to enter. Maybe you meant something else. Cheers 1 Like |

Adjo10:I was chatting with someone in Brasilia he was explaining the process he kept referring to it as a family reunion visa I come confuse Lemme quote his msg is this how the process works? Yes the id-document and RNM is the same thing and proof that you have a resident permit in the country. At first, when the application is filed you will receive a protocol of the RNM but you are already in possession of the visa from the moment of the filing. Then it takes around 3 months for the RNM card to arrive. |

juliusocean: This is going to require a very long explanation but let me try and make is simple for you. In fact there is no more RNE. The 2017 immigration overhaul changed the name and category of many things. Since 2017 RNE as been change to CRNM card. Your CRNM card will have an “RNM” number on it. You will never receive a visa inside Brazil. What you receive is call CRNM card or residency card. Since 2017 there is a new category of naming of residency permits. There are 3 categories: Temporal residents (Students etc etc), Resident (Formally know as Permanent Resident) and a 3rd category i don’t even remember the name. So in short, your CRNM card will have a classification of “Resident” written at the back. Don’t be sad, that is actually your PR just that the name “Permanent” has been deleted according to the 2017 immigration law. To receive the “Residente” status, you must meet the requirements just like a person applying for PR in the past. There a many category of people who can receive PR (now “Residente”) in Brazil. These people are parents of a Brazilian child, investors, professionals with special skills and the spouse of a Brazilian. Here is what confuses people and they keep referring to it as a family reunification residency card. Like i said, many categories of people qualify for PR and PR (Residente) leads to citizenship. Even though you will have the same PR as someone else, you are still not equal in terms of the duration of the PR card (CRNM card) itself, and the amount of time you have to wait to apply for citizenship. Your PR card(CRNM card) as a parent is valid for 9 years, that of an investor is valid for 2 years etc etc... Whiles you have to spend only 1 year in Brazil to get citizenship, an investor has to spend 4 years. Remember that you both have the same physical looking PR card in hand which is blue-green in color while temporal residents is another color all together. Now, to differentiate your PR card with other PR cards, since there is no physical appearance difference, there will be a little writing at the back indicating the section of the immigration law that applies to your PR card. So yours will be that of family reunification. This is to make sure your application for citizenship is after 1 year of residency and not 4 or 15 years like others who have the same PR card. Voilaaaa... some people call it family reunification permit or whatever. At the end, the name doesn’t matter. It’s the value of it. Let us know when you get your card so that everyone here will understand if the information I’m providing is correct or not. Cheers 11 Likes 1 Share |

Hello Everyone, I have been a silent reader, read every single page, i have a question to those who got invited for interview weeks after submission of documents. Is it that you and/or your spouse submitted via courier and you were not physically at the embassy for submission when documents were submitted. @afelouz @aumeehn 1 Like |

Osigobin: No, even if you were physically present, they will still request for an interview especially for your wife, I think it’s just for them to know if she is pregnant. 2 Likes |

Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by TechSpot: 1:34am On Jan 09, 2020 |
Osigobin: It's advisable that you and your spouse go to the embassy to submit your documents together. They really want to see that the woman is not pregnant because Brazil embassy do not grant visibly pregnant women Visas. It's the Nigerian staff that collects your form they then minute on it after submission. I don't know what they write on the forms but my guess is that they do that to point out who submitted the docs and their physical condition(s). The interview is conducted by a Brazilian staff and it's from the interview you will know ur faith cos it's really brief and straightforward. The point of the interview is likely to establish your physical state especially if they feel your purpose of visit is for child birth at the time you submitted and to know your true intentions for visiting Brazil. If a man applies with valid documents, enough travel history and adequate financial capabilities I don't think they would invite him for interview because they do call Banks to verify account statement so they could easily verify your work or company documents as well. 3 Likes |

The Brazil application is straight forward and you don't need any agent to help you with anything because they have no upper hand when it comes to aoplying for Brazilian VIVIS... I can see most of them have stopped advertising it on their IG pages too. I wanted to use apsom then someone here told me that they've casted so I paid consultancy fee of 10k to wakanow and then they sent me same form that I already downloaded free from the Brazilian embassy site na so I vex start my application on my own. Just gather all documents as listed on the site. Fill the online and offline forms Compile all your documents which should include: Valid international passport 6 months bank statement with reference letter address to the Brazilian embassy 2 passport photograph Original documents of your business documents or Employment letter, pay slips, leave letter Letter of introduction Flight reservation Hotel reservation Go to Stanbic bank and pay 36k collect teller Carry all the documents to Brazil embassy within 10am to 1pm Mondays - Thursday. Submit Unless you are a minor (under 16 or 18), there no need for birth certificate. There's equally no need for: Land documents House receipts Tax clearance Family pictures Travel pictures etc. 9 Likes 3 Shares |

Adjo10: Good day and thanks for your well wishes. I think by far this is the best decision I have ever made. I have some concerns regarding the PR application based on the brazilian baby. Presently, my wife Int’ Passport has her fathers name as her surname and her birth certificate. We are yet to change the Int’ passport to my surname. I know there wont be an issue having my surname on the new born birth certificate as im physically present in Brazil but is it advisable to change my wife’s name to my surname for the PR application? if yes how best can we go about it. I came with our marriage cert that is legalized at the ministry or foreign affairs. Thanks alot 1 Like |
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by Adjo10: 7:17pm On Jan 09, 2020 |
afelouz: Hello afelouz. Your wife not having your surname is not a problem at all in PR application. In fact, you guys don’t even need to be married to apply for PR base on your baby. So far as both of you are the parents, you can apply for the PR. If you guys already had plans to change your wife’s name to yours then that is another thing all together. For that, i will personally recommend you guys waiting until after the PR application. Your wife’s name must match that of her passport and birth certificate. Of course she can legally change her name but if the legal name change has not yet taken place, then please let her us the name on her passport to make things easier for you guys. Both my husband and I have different surnames but we got our PR and now citizenship without any problem. Cheers 6 Likes |

Thanks alot. One more thing, I have been searching for a language School Where I can learn Portuguese here in Sao Paulo and the ones I have been seeing online are too expensive, they also charge weekly, Lol. Is there a free or affordable school I can attend?? Remember I don’t have protocol or a PR yet, I’m just a tourist for now. Adjo10: |
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by Adjo10: 1:00am On Jan 10, 2020 |
afelouz: I understand. The reality is that as a tourist, you will have to pay especially that you are competing with the same classroom space with Western tourists. You even pay more for accommodation as a tourist lol. Things will only change after the little angel is born. Unfortunately, i don’t know of any affordable one but you can ask your Airbnb host. They are usually super helpful. Cheers |
