Don't confuse wealth with country production. You can have lot of wealth in say idle land producing nothing. And if this is your defense against Mauritius then you're wrong because their development is real & tangible unlike say Gabon or Equitorial Guinea where oil has inflated their GDP but the country remains a backwater.

GDP per capita does not mean development

GDP per capita is GDP divided by population

SA GDP $366B
Population 57m

$6400 that's per capita

Mauritius GDP $13b
Population 1.2m

$ 10800 that's per capita

btw do you count the refugees

Talking of roads... Nigeria with twice Kenya landmass has road network of 190k against Kenya 160k.South Africa has 11th longest road network of 750k. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_road_network_size
Funny, the link says "This is a list of countries by total road network size, both paved and unpaved.

The lengths of expressways are also included. Expressways (controlled-access highways, freeways, motorways) are provided to high-speed vehicular traffic without at-grade crossings except at the terminus. They are known by different names in various places."
Plus, the last value given for Nigeria was last updated 2009 while Kenya's value was 2014.

Since when..in 2014 when they rebased their GDP to 500b their population was around 150m...that is GDP per capita of 3k.. precisely 3,200k..to last year when their GDP was 350b and pop at 200m..meaning their GDP per capita had dropped to less than 2k(1,900). Your are sorry excuse of a human...if such basic concept eludes you.

this year their GDP is 494 billion

and nigeria has not done a census to determine their population
what they used in 2014 as total population has been like that since 2000s.

Abuja is a city built with oil money. The city looks more like Dubai while the city is also the power house of the federation there you find the politician and Nigerian upper class. Mostly someone can easily refer Abuja as a newly developed capital city in Africa that is just the fact.

You can't place all students failure on teachers. There are many reasons why students fails, yes it includes bad teachers but it is not all about that. You have to consider other stuff..
Poor upbringing of children ( undisciplined kids)
Poverty or let's say starvation ( children can't learn while hungry)
Low salaries and incentives to teachers
Overcrowded classes( a ratio of teachers to learners)
Some kids were born dumb, just dumb!

Hobbit, this beyond your paygrade. In 2018 their GDP was 396B dollars with per capita at 2,000..and extreme poverty affecting 90m of them...a mismanaged country blessed with oil and zero brains. If oil today retail at one dollar their GDP per capita will be world worst.

Kenya January is hard time for teachers because the results for primary and secondary are normally released then...and because Kenyans take those exam seriously..there is serious accountability questions that get asked. The schools who were performing then drop because of a new head teacher are normally the ones that get a hidding

More Kenyans travelled by air over the past two years within Africa compared to their South African and Nigeria counterparts, despite high ticket costs and difficulty in getting visas, a survey showed.
A report by US travel technology provider, Sabre Corp, showed that about 29 percent of Kenyans travelled by air between 2017 and 2019 — beating Africa’s average of 26 per cent.
About 27 percent of South Africans travelled by air over the period compared to 21 percent by Nigerians. Sabre surveyed 5,869 travellers from the three countries of which 1,500 indicated that they had travelled in the past two years.
And in what could be indicative of opportunities for airlines and tourism service providers, the survey showed that given an opportunity to travel freely across the continent, Kenyans’ preferred destinations would be South Africa, Seychelles, Madagascar, Mauritius, and Ethiopia.
In a similar situation, more South Africans would wish to travel to Kenya than their Nigerian counterparts.
According to Sabre corporation survey, conducted from October 2017 to October 2019, air travel has increased by just two per cent in the three years since its 2016 survey.

Nigeria economy is not oil-dependent
it is not like the tea dependent Kenya.

Even though tax is dependent on the oil sector, the oil sector is way bigger than the Upstream sector.
Most of Nigeria's money in the oil sector comes from the downstream sector.

Oil will never drop below 40 dollars

your desperation is too loud APE
