I think the money was shared with respect to the strength of your income and the strength of others involved.

They think you have the money.

Bt the point is, u don't want to spend that kind of money for burial.

They will still help you if the need arises.

Thats the importance of having a family.

Just try and help...

Her grandfather died and she is asked to pay 150k being shared? How much are the children of the deceased to pay that a grand child is asked to pay 150k?

I wouldn't even disturb myself if I were you.

Even if he has the money, the mere thought of knowing the wife is a granddaughter alone is enough to not make him do a thing. Going by your logic, it means they shared the money based greed and bias.

A family who knows their child isn't working but deliberately ask her to pay 150k for her grandfather's wedding, with the intent that her husband will bear the cost clearly have no help to render the man their daughter is married to.

That kind of family don't come off sensitive to me.

They must be preparing for "one in town" burial for contribution as high as 150k going to married granddaughter.

I am very sure if they made this kind of contribution when he was alive the man might still be here today.

If you don't have don't pay......infact if you have don't still pay there are no consequences.

Use that 150k for something useful, may be send 20-50k for them to manage for the burial.

May be they will still expect you to come with your people and still bring something (may be cow) and other things on the burial day.

So if he has money to take care of his daughter, he won't because tradition has said so...

If I'm the husband, they cab rest assured they will not be attending my daughters wedding, gone are the day when you invite the entire extending family to occasions

Nonsense. I hope you no longer collect money for her upkeep from him since this is the case.

The Op said he married an IBO lady. In Igbo tradition no matter poor the family is, I repeat nobody will ask a grand daughter to contribute money for her grandfather burial.
In order hand, if the granddaughter is rich, she can contribute at her own discretion. Chikena
.
The Op may be an aka gum set of people and the wife want to use this avenue to play smart on him.

What will be her share if it where to be her own father give

Give what you have and don't promise any thing or balance

They value tradition more than Jesus Christ. Tradition as a thief, killer and destroyer comes with series of dreadful consequences. Reason, they fear tradition more than God.

She better pay, else...........

But inheritance (properties) are not shared amongst the females according to their tradition. Why sharing burial bills to a female? Very useless and hypocritical tradition!

Only Jesus Christ will save us all from the ancient stronghold of the man-made tradition inspired by Satan.
