Markab: Thanks for the reply. That is the most probable explanation to the outcome. But I still don't understand why so many of the VO's decisions are left to "discretion". Anyways, what do I know! |

That’s the wrong thing to do. Just validate and upload. Don’t print, don’t sign, don't scan. Just upload after validation. yomisley: |

I want to use this opportunity to encourage others. I have been begging my mom for the past 5years to come and pay us a visit in Canada, she wouldn't give in......fast forward to October last year,She agreed and was ready to visit Canada but told me that she won't spend more than 3 weeks. Below are the applications timelines; Application Made: November 15, 2019 Date of Biometrics Enrolment: November 21, 2019 Passport Request:January 8, 2020. Do note that I was responsible for the coordination of all the documents needed for the application, especially those originating from Niaja. I am a Canadian citizen, invited her and also sponsored her for the application.I also requested that my wife do a co-sponsorship letter. The followings documents were submitted alongside the application; 1.Invitation & sponsorship letter for self 2.Co-sponsorship letter from wife 3.Pay check for self for 6months 4.Paycheck from my wife for 6months 5.Statement of account for self for 6 months 6. Statement of account from wife for 6 months 7.Our UBA Joint Account (self & wife) fro Jan to November 2019 8. C of O of Two Properties fully developed In Lagos(self & wife) 9.Notice of Assessment from CRA for self for 2018 10.Notice of Assessment from CRA for wife for 2018 11. Copy of my Nigerian & Canadian Passport 12.Copy of my wife Nigerian and Canadian Passport 13.Copy of my birth certificate, showing my relationship with my mom 14. Two copies of Utility bills in Canada, showing my address 15. Letter explaining the cost of the trip to me and wife, vis a vis the balances in our Accounts in Canada and with UBA in Nigeria 16. UBA statement of account for my mom with a balance of about N3.5M 17. UBA Investment certificate for my mom for N6M with a One year Tenor. 18.Flight Internary 19.Copies of Visa on my mom's old passport to UK 20.A detailed letter explaining how my mom will enjoy her trip to Canada by visiting certain locations in GTA and that I will be on 2weeks vacation for the period she will visit. I hope I covered all. Shalom 9 Likes 1 Share |

Markab: Exactly what happened in this case..........Mother inlaw applied with her first passport and we thought she would get till validity. It was very disappointing that it was just for 1 year. I considered many options of which one was travel history! Now, your response confirms it all. Thanks |

Hi Passe, Congratulations on your mom's Visa! I am a student in Alberta and I will be convocating in June. I want to apply for my mum to attend my convocation. I have gone through the documents required online but I am having a hard time with the requirement of flight itinerary. How do I get a flight itinerary without having to pay for booking the flight because is not advisable to book a flight when Visa is yet to be approved right? Please I will appreciate any guidance, thanks! passe: |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by passe(m): 7:31am On Jan 12, 2020 |
Jewel80: Just go to the KLM website, do the reservations and at the point of making payment, select pay at KLM office. This allows you to get the flight itinerary sent to your mail. That way you don't have to make payment. It is usually advisable to do this a day before your application so that it will still be valid at the point of submitting your application. The whole idea behind the itinerary is that they want to make sure that you kmow the cost of ait ticket and that you have also included it in your financial provision for the intended trip. 1 Like |

How long is the reservation valid for? I tried holding a reservation with Ethiopian airlines but the reservation is only valid for 2 days. Which won't be valid anymore if VO is reviewing application. passe: |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Betterlife30: 8:37am On Jan 12, 2020 |
passe: I just checked their site but I don't get it. It's only showing "show offers". Please can you help with the link of that point where someone can make the reservations or step by step of it. Please kindly do this. |
