Next time pls do all verifications before and not after purchase.
Secondly, customs no dey city or civic. For them no legitimate duty proof means u r a violator..

Major custom points are after ijebu ode.. and entering benin

Customs officials just dey use eye look throwaway...

From my observation....

- They rarely stop cars that have been registered long ago
- they obviously stop cars without plates
- big and fancy... Unpopular cars on high way.. cars that catches their fancy of course will be stopped by all official

I'm not saying they can't stop u o..
But to me, the chances that you will be stopped by customs are slim.

What you should have determined is if the car was bought in Nigeria brand new. If it was brand new, then duty must have been paid. For such cars, the duty is paid by the importer for a fleet and the certificate is for the entire fleet. Customs usually turn away their eyes on brand new cars for such reason. It is hard for such companies to default on duty. All you need is a receipt bearing such company name.

Maybe the corolla na South Africa Spec, meaning it was bought brand new in Naija.... Customs hardly stop such.. Same applies to the Honda city and Civic bought brand new..

U definitely bought the car at a ridiculously cheap price since it doesn't have customs papers.

Customs might not notice u except the car is still VERY sharp with still new plates .

Work on ur psychology before embarking on the trip .life itself is a risk , so take it .

brother please you don't need custom paper for Honda city.most honda city out there are company used.you only need the change of ownership from the company to the previous buyer then to you.just travel with full confidence as long as ur car document is valid and up to date.
