NFF and the government could have treated anybody from any part of Nigeria same way. The fact is that so many of our past heroes were so poorly treated in same manner and this has nothing to do with their tribe. That is Nigeria for you ! NFF is not a Union. NFF is a body like NCC, they regulate football in Nigeria, they don't regulate footballers. This is like expecting National Civil Service Commission to send a representative if a retired Civil Servant dies

They were poppies to match days to honour the war fallen of 60 years ago and honour their national and club heroes with black arm bands and respect them with thoughtful silence. They remember. We have club games this weekend. We will have national team matches in the coming weeks. Let us see what will happen. Whether it will matter to the NFF or not or like you say let them tell Nigrians that they owe nobody anything.
