Or is it because he is an igbo?
Mumu, there are no Igbos in NFF abi, and his team mates were all from other tribes. Y'all can't move forward with this kind of mentality, believe me.

When I read comments like this, I just smile. Tammy Abraham made a solid choice choosing England of Nigeria.

At least his future is secured even by playing 2 matches.

And more youth will keep dumping this nation until we know how to support our own

No problem.

We wish Tammy the best in England.

Nobody seems to care about anything in Nigeria. We are inherently stupid
You just captured the essence succinctly. Nobody cares. Values are at all time low.

You are nobody to nobody. Except your family and VERY few loyal friends. Whether you were super good to people in the past is irrelevant. So never inconvenience yourself too much to please outsiders. Only the benefit right now matters to people.

NFF and the government could have treated anybody from any part of Nigeria same way. The fact is that so many of our past heroes were so poorly treated in same manner and this has nothing to do with their tribe. That is Nigeria for you ! So stop whipping up unnecessary emotional sentiment and desist from seeing every issue through your myopic tribal lens.

May the spirit of our dear Isaac rest in peace. Adieu Skippo !

Because he wanted to show that it's because of tribalism that no one showed up forgetting the fact that there are people of same tribe that played with Isaac promise.

And CHISOM, a woman that will be making mouth like typewriter on NAIJA MADE voted her fifth.
And all the hypocrite are now congratulating her for winning the award.!!! God punish all of them.
Even the NFF CHAIRMAN that picked the award for Asisat did not vote for her.

I'm not questioning his teammates but NFF. The NFF as a body owes him to send at least a representative. I'm surprised you're even arguing this. What's the purpose of being a union if not for solidarity, oneness and sense of belonging?

NFF is not a Union. NFF is a body like NCC, they regulate football in Nigeria, they don't regulate footballers. This is like expecting National Civil Service Commission to send a representative if a retired Civil Servant dies

There is a Players Union, they are the ones that should have organised something for their guy, but they didn't. Not everytime NFF, what did the Union do?

Asisat Oshola won women player of the year the 2 male voters from Nigeria refused to vote for her should we say because she is a Nigerian or Yoruba or just due to envy? But she still got votes from other countries and now how do you expect her to treat these 2 Nigerian representatives do you think she will ever help them or grace their occasions even when invited?
Are you suppose to vote for the player from your country or the best player

Chisom vvoted her 2nd, not 5th. Only Perpetual voted Oshoala 5th.

I wonder why Nigerians suddenly havee issues with that, I thought Nigerians are more concerned with merit than national patriotism.

When Mikel was up for BBC APOTY, Nigerians abandoned him to vote for Yaya Toure. Y'all will vote for anybody BUT a Nigerian, I thought this was established.

nobody owes you anything in life.

Nobody owes you a 'hi' call

People have their own problems in life

Nobody owes you a check-up or show of concern

If you get it, fine, if not, fine

Stop expecting anything from human beings

I learnt this thing fifteen years ago and it has stuck with me.

Siaisia and all the other ex-footballers looking for pity, should know this by now. This is the world, this is human beings.

People don't owe you a thing. He wasn't doing charity work, and even charity workers get shunned

You are not correct. Taking a stand from the point of the recepient only is disingenuous. Why not consider the humanity is giving, in respecting, in sacrificing afterall this is what these fellows did for the country and for the game. They sought to honour this country. They and their loved ones are not looking for pomp and pagentry, just solidarity.

The west by nature are not culturally attuned to large, boisterous and expensive funerals as in the related case of Isaac Promise and certainly are more frugal with public donations as in the case with Siasia but they honour their owm and recognise the contributions of their fallen.

They were poppies to match days to honour the war fallen of 60 years ago and honour their national and club heroes with black arm bands and respect them with thoughtful silence. They remember. We have club games this weekend. We will have national team matches in the coming weeks. Let us see what will happen. Whether it will matter to the NFF or not or like you say let them tell Nigrians that they owe nobody anything.

That is just so heartless and inconsiderate.

you dont need to be surprised that nobody showed up,,,
this is basically to give us an insight of how useless we suddenly become to people around us when we exit this earth.
dont live a life to please anybody in this world.

Take this up with the Players Union.

NFF are established as useless, like everything in Nigeria. I don't know why you lot are getting up in arms about it.

All these words will not suddenly make them have sense.

because dead people are so concerned about who shows up for their funeral.... undecided

The most striking thing here is

"Not even a former team mate...."

What kind of relationship did he have with his former colleagues that none of them could make themselves available? If you were a President in any Union and no one from the Union, not even those who served with you could show up at your funeral, then something must have gone terribly wrong.

This gives me more concern too. May God grant the family of the bereaved the fortitude to bear the loss
