Hello house,
I have this desire to travel to Canada since 5year ago but because of one thing or the other I'm still in Nigeria. I have made up my mind to start processing now.
How do I go about it from the scratch
I have Hnd in accounting also part qualified ICAN with 13years work experience
Female, married with 3 kids
Please what's the fastest route to migrate to Canada within a year.
I will appreciate any recruitment or study agency here in Nigeria
Thanks

Hello Missnigeria,

Since you have been patient all this while by waiting for 5yrs, you might be able to migrate with your family through the EE route. This can be achieved if you can wait for some extra years to pursue a PGD and a Masters program here in Nigeria. You can go for courses with 1yr duration respectively. Well, since you have made up your mind, this might not be an option for you.

You can as well consider migrating through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program. You can check IRCC website to see if you are eligible.

You can also decide to apply for a work permit if there is a willing employer to offer you a full time job and can secure an approved Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). This process can be expensive and time intensive for the employer to be able to secure LMIA, which could take up to 6 months plus. There won't be any employer willing to go through this stressful path except maybe there is a relationship. In all, there is no assurance that the LMIA would be approved.

This brings us to the study route which is the most surest route for you out of the above options suggested. With your HND, you can't go for a direct Master rather you can access the Masters path via a PGD/C. This shows good professional progression or career advancement than the Diploma or Advanced Diploma. If you see a PGD/C program with co-op in your desired course, the better for you.

As an additional tips, if you intend to put in a family application, endeavour to be able to satisfy the VO on your financial capability and present a good home tie. If you intend to put in a single application, then you show less funds and your family can also serve as a strong home tie. Also, endeavour to justify your study gap with substantial envidence.

All the best.

Thank you for your concern....

I'll keep searching for one... that said.

I saw funding on some school website for international students... My question now is, can I apply to the school, hoping to get the funding ?
Because the tuition fees no be here ooo .. I need your guidance on this please.

Thank you in advance...

JustMellow:

Hello Cliqtips,

For Canada, your choice program if it is a Master should be a Thesis/Research. If it is a Ph.D program, funding comes along depending on the school, research interest, field, supervisor and so forth.

For more information about funding/scholarship, contact your prospect school or surf through their website.

All the best.

Thank you so much. If I have an option of choosing between a PBD of 20 months and a PGC of 1 year both offering supply chain management. Which would you advice me to go for?

Hello Laurendee,

I will be base my emphasis from two perspectives.

1. If you intend to secure a PR after your program, then go for the PBD of 20 months in duration.

2. If you intend to return to your home country after your program, then go for the 1yr PGC.

I believe you can find your answer therein.

All the best.

Good evening from the corner of my small room in Ogbomoso, Oyo state.
I just got my final result although I've been on the look out for supervisors as my intended course requires such but all to no avail.
My CGPA = 3.66
semester GPA for the last 2 sessions goes thus: (400: 4.82, 4.85), (500: 3.68, 3.86).
Course of study: ANIMAL PRODUCTION AND HEALTH
Intended course for Masters: ANIMAL SCIENCE
My questions goes thus:
1. Can my result fly for a masters degree or i go for graduate certificate?
2. Can i apply without getting a supervisor yet?
3. Since most schools i checked only need a letter from my school stating i was taught in English language, is there any reason for me to bother myself with IELTS or TOEFL?
4. which other schools apart from UNIVERSITY OF SASKATCHEWAN, UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA, UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA can i apply to

thanks for your time

Hello Mcilfero,

I presume this is a Masters program. If yes, you can upload your undergraduate dissertation and any other published work (article, journal, book etc). If you don't have any, an unpublished work would suffice but endeavour that it should be pure academic even if its 5 to/or 10 pages.

N.B: do well to inquire from your prospect school if an unpublish work would be accepted as schools policies may differ.

All the best.[/quote

Thank You @JustMellow

Most universities don’t have the co-op option. If you have the CGPA that can get you into a masters in LSCM then you should consider that first. University of Windsor fees for 16 months in MSC LSCM equals what you will spend in 2 years of college for PGD LSCM.

Let me ask you a question, do you or your sponsor have the money at the moment to pay for 2 years in college or you only have money for 1 year?

Checked university of Windsor, I didn’t find Msc LSCM on there.

I’ll be sponsoring myself and currently I have the money for one year, that’s why I’m trying to make as much findings as possible so maybe I’ll delay my application till I have completed my money for whatsoever university or college I opt for.

A gpa of 4.2 is a sufficient gpa for masters right?

Some universities have gmat or gre as a minimum requirement for masters in LSCM so I’ve already started working on gre just in case and since it’s valid for 5 years it can’t be of waste.

University of Windsor offers it under Masters of Management with an option to specialize in
- HRM
- International finance
- LSCM

Your CGPA is good enough for masters and by all means, search for universities that can give you funding or discounts.

The normal thing suggested here is if you have a CGPA that can get you into masters, that should be your first choice.

Boss, PGD/C with co-op is better than ordinary PGD/C? I want to be sure cos i'm starting my application for admission, soon.

The issue of finance
cc Laurendee

If you eventually decide to go to college and need a 3 year PGWP, then there is a way you can earn money legally and pay for your second program.

"So that we are clear, a quick recap. You have money for 1 year PGC and completing a 1 year PGC will only give you 1 year PGWP but you need a 3 year PGWP which means you will need to do two programs".

There is a PGC Co-op in LSCM offered by Fanshawe college, link attached.

https://www.fanshawec.ca/programs/scm2-supply-chain-management-logistics-co-op/next
Please note, Fanshawe College don't joke with money, make sure you have money for your 1 year complete.

Co-op allows you to get paid while working full time. The link I shared above, you will have 8 months of classes and 4 months of co-op (please confirm from school/ admissions team). Once you are done with your program, you can take 4 months break to work full time and save towards your second program.

By law, you are allowed to take 150 days break on the completion of your first program before starting the next program. Most students in colleges do two 1 year PGC programs so nothing to be worried about

There is no way you will work for eight months full time, delay gratification (no fancy phones, Gucci cloths or expensive accommodation), stay focused and not save at least $12,000 (this has been confirmed by many students) which will be close enough to pay for your second program.

What I suggested is a long route but legally allowed. For most students who don't have money for the second program of college, that is a way around it.

I have attached the link below for the 150 days break rule.

Congratulations. I am new on the forum and I have a few questions regarding the student visa process. What should be the content of the introduction letter. Does pension statements serves as proof of funds? Did you get the visa for yourself or for the whole family? Also, what makes a good SOP. Is it best to apply for the visa alone or for the whole family at once?

Thanks

Good afternoon house. Please i have a challenge. I need to draft a sponsorship letter for my uncle. I saw a sample from the thread. However, I still have some questions regarding the sponsorship statement.

1)when stating the amount available for my stay in Canada, must the amount be the total of the tuition + cost of living for 2 years?

2) is it compulsory that the sponsor must have stated sum in his account at the moment?

3)is it compulsory for my sponsor to pay some money to my account before my application (i.e 2.9 million to cover the cost of living for a year)

4)if it's compulsory, wouldn't it raise brows considering that it'll be a lump sum payment? How should it be tackled.

PS. My uncle is my sponsor.

Gurus in the house please help.

I'm sorry if my questions are derailing the thread.

Apply for course BAsed MAsters, if you have money to pay your tuition yourself.. Most time the difficulties of securing supervisors in the Thesiis route is availability of grant.. If you can apply for COuse based Mscyou can switch to Thesis based.. That way potential supervisor already know you in person and can have confidence in puuting money towards you
