Gather your marriage certificate, your child’s birth certificate, school fees receipts, school id, pictures of your family, evidence of your properties... not just receipt of purchase as they know in Nigeria, this can be easily obtained. It should include c of o, deed of assignment etc

Wedding pictures, car documents, your wife’s data page of passport and work ID to support that she would be in Nigeria when u travel. .. and as such you must return.

Your parents if alive, proof they will be in Nigeria whilst you travel

Tenancy agreement + House rent receipts to show that you have paid your rent and still have time left on it(if applicable)

More Evidence of your business transactions. Since they are jumia, jiji and co... there would be trails left electronically. Do screenshots of transactions between customers and urself and tallying evidence when the money is paid and print out.

This time around I'm doing self service, as at yday only 10th Jan (which is tomorrow) and 3rd Feb are free for self service... Is it possible more free date come up before end of January if I keep checking?

I thought I read here that for self service free appointment booking, if I keep checking back that some earlier dates will free up that I will be able to book.

Unfortunately, the earliest date was today and 3rd Feb, as I cannot go there today and 3rd Feb is too far, I thought I should check back the date today, only to see that even 3rd Feb is not free booking isn't available again until 5th - 7th Feb which will hit 60days.

Please, is it possible I still find earlier date that will free up for free booking or I should quickly grab the 5th Feb. (Though almost late as it very close to when I'm supposed to travel)??

Since you intend to Travel in May you can opt to have a good track record between Dec and May. As for the lump sum...ayayahhh

Yes you will have a problem with that, so avoid it. Far better to include your mums bank statement than transferring money into your account.

Is this exam relating to your current job?

Get in touch with your uni for the best advice. You should be ready to give them reason you want to defer

No, it's not. am a medical doctor lecturing in a university. I want to go for PLAB 2 exam. And the thing is that my IELTS result, which I'll need later, will soon expire, that is why it's as if am in a haste.

My mum is already maintaining a clean account, she started this month anyway, but she said the much she can go is 3 months

Ok you really need to explain that in your application. Yes your mum can contribute but avoid transferring money into your salary account that is not your salary.

You don't have to be worried...honestly try to be planning to write another ielts before that 6months regardless cos likelihood of being rejected the visa will delay your ambitions till that 6th month.

Hi All.
Hope everyone is well?
Few questions today.

My first trip to the UK, my TOTAL trip budget was around £2442, (out of £7k+ savings) and my salary was £800/month.
I planned to travel for a month then for my mom's graduation.
My mom(UK citizen) planned to pay for flight, which i budgeted £800 for
So my contribution was supposed to be about £1642 out of the 2442.

From this same £1642, i budgeted £600 pounds for accomodation as I did not plan to live with my parents as they had a small place.

The visa was however refused on the grounds that i didn't have money which is false so I rejected the decision and complained.

Visa was consequently granted.


Now, I am planning to apply for two years.
I am hoping it will be granted as i didn't violate the terms of my 6 months. I ended up coming to the UK for just 2 months out of the 6.
The main question I want to ask now is... by my next visit(if 2 years is granted), i would like to spend 3 months.
Should I mention that on my application or should I just mention that I am coming for one month and after it is granted, i can book ticket for 3 months?
I know technically I can stay for up to 6 months if I have a 2 years visa but will it be suspicious if I just mentioned on my application that I am coming for 3 months? Will it appear as if I am living in the UK or am I within the visa rights?


Secondly, if visa gets granted, must I book a return ticket or am I allowed to book a one-way ticket given I do not have a specific date of leaving yet or is return ticket a must for visit visa regardless of how long the visa length is.

Lastly, in my first application, I submitted 3 months payslip as my company was new (I earned Naira360,000 - £800) then, but after applying for the visa, my salary has reduced to (Naira 204,000 - £454). Will this affect my new application regardless of the fact that I never overstayed?

Also, when I came to the UK, I ended up staying with my parents and didn't see the need to book a hostel accomodation like I planned to anymore.
For my next trip (if visa is granted), i will stay with them which will significantly reduce my expenditure. Will a budget of £1500 fly ? Given I am no longer paying for accomodation and living expenses is next to nothing?

Now the issue is £1500 is about 3.5 times my monthly earning. So if I claim I am travelling for a month, that's a lot. However, if I claim I am travelling for 2 months, that is still okay since its basically £750 per month.

Should I reduce my budget?
Or should I get my mom to pay for the flights? And only have living expenses to handle?

Also, please note I currently have a savings of £8k (an increment of just 1k since last visa was granted - due to salary) which would have increased by the visa decision time.
I know this is a bit complicated but i hope someone gets what I am trying to say.

Good morning Justwise, giselle and other advisers on this forum. I really appreciate your help towards people's queries. Please I want to apply for a 6- day visit to the UK soon and plan to go in April 2020. This is My situation: I am 35 and single also living with my parents. I work and earn 200k in a month and also have a 2-flat property in my name which I completed about 2years ago.
1) I have a childhood friend in the UK whom I couldn't attend his wedding in the year 2017 due to my busy schedules then and he and his wife is ready to feed and accommodate me for the 6-day period. He also want to support my trip with a sum of £200 and promised to send his account statement to show this.

2) The cost to me personally for the trip is £600 making £800 for the whole trip as my friend is going to give me £200.

3) A total sum of 810k was paid into my account on January 2 by my Real Estate Agent which is the money he collected from my tenants from the 2-flat for 2020 rent payment and I have papers like tenancy agreement and all other papers from my Estate Agent to support this.

4) Also the salary paid into my account from the company am working with for the month of December was 199,800k. Do i need to explain this or I should just submit the payslip because it reflect on my payslip as well.

5) On December 19,2019. I withdrew a total sum of 385k from my account out of which I used 367k for the purchase of new home electrical appliances like Television, Fan and Washing Machine. Do i need to also explain this and present the receipt given to me from the store I bought them?

This is painful. It’s like you want to get a denial...
1) your salary has drastically reduced so it’s obvious your circumstances have changed and can affect the outcome of your visa. You keep downplaying this part meanwhile herein lies the key to you getting your new visa renewed. Every visa application is assessed on the grounds of your application at that time.
If you are found not to be eligible for a visa, whether you have come to the UK before or not... you will not be given another visa on grounds that you don’t qualify at that time.

2. ‘You also said you didn’t violate your visa as you came to the UK for just two months out of the 6’... pls my dear when u filled the application that got you the visa did you tell them in that same application that you would be staying for 2 months? If no.. this also questions your ties to Nigeria and your credibility and you will need to explain it very well inorder to have a successful renewal. Again, don’t joke as you might have shot your ties to Nigeria slightly in the leg by this act.

3)They have your data of when you left the UK because they have access to the flight details of how you left... please don’t lie in your new application about this as you will be required to fill this part.
Simply explain to them in your new cover letter why you stayed for 2 months... they will overlook it if they feel you didn’t violate anything.

4. What is a 2 years visa? A 2 years visa still doesn’t imply that you can stay for 6 months at a stretch or 3 months at a stretch?
If this happens, that means your ties to Nigeria are weak and that to UK are strong, meaning you are a potential immigrant... what do you think will be the outcome of the application?? refusal!

5. Booking a one way ticket? ahh my friend! This is where you finally kill yourself as it shows that you dont have any plans of coming back, I would be surprised if you pass the border.

Pls re-orientate your mind, don’t allow them to lose trust in you so soon. Approach this application with same dexterity and carefulness as you did the 6 months own and if well done ofcourse you can get a 2 yrs visa ryt now. This is only my opinion as I am not an ECO.

You can and should fund your trip by yourself pls. Let ur childhood friend provide accommodation and feeding pls.. while you fund the rest of your trip.
He can send the account statement to show that he is capable of taking care of your feeding and accommodation, leave out the 200 pounds support biko.
2) any money that was paid into your account must have proof. They know Nigerians have access to forging or let’s say falsifying documents so pls make sure u can truly proof the origin of the 810k
3) if my statement of account reads that this is salary for so and so month.. you dont need to explain further as long as it tallies with your payslip and carries d description of salary
4) I have done something like that while applying for a uk visa. I can’t fault if you want to add those your receipts to your application.
Finally there’s no hurry in this thing.. pls take time and grow/groom your account to have the TOTAL money you need for your application and MUCH MORE for when you will return back to Nigeria... read up the thread to get better idea of things ur childhood friend should be sending.. pls dont also forget to show proof that indeed you are childhood friends
