Yes, 8 weeks! I think that was why maybe they stopped the sale of Matic.

I'm still looking forward to when Garner and the likes will be introduced into the senior team. Not rushed but a gradual process. Matic doesn't have that strength again and Fred, uhm... I'm afraid he should be rested. If he get injury, e don be be that oh.

If only the transfer window is open we could have gotten bodies into the midfield area.

If only.

We need a midfielder that makes things happen... Imagine adding Pogba's goals last season with what our attackers are scoring now... We'll surely be better than where we are now.

Football is not like that. With Pogba, the attackers goals might be less. Our attackers are less worried about midfield these days offering little supports. Pogba's less work rate could have meant our attackers going deep in midfield to help out like Mane does in Liverpool. (Tooney and Tevez were also doing that). I see them playing more and more closer to the oppoaition box.

Pogba has played 521 minutes this season and has no goal. Same minutes with Juan Mata. Both are tied on just 2 Assists. After playing almost6 matches without a goal, you still think we would have been better off with him. McTominay is our 5th highest scorer who is tied with James. Although James is the most creative in the front three with 6 Asaists

How many matches has Pogba played in a row... Let him play 10 matches straight and he'll likely get 8 goals + assists or more. Look at City, Gundogan scores once in a while, Debryune scores.. D. Silva assists.. Rodri has about two or three goals from DM... B.Silva (let me not add him even though he has played in midfield too) Their defenders score goals too.. When season end and you calculate the goals coming from midfield alone.. It would be around 20, you then add assists... The type of Herrera through balls.. How many times have you seen our midfielders play that, with all the speed we have up front... If James is beside a defender, they prefer passing it to his leg undecided

Mane going to midfield is just his style of play, when Rooney and Tevez were here, our midfield had Scholes, Carrick, Anderson etc. Those players were at some point the best in their position so it's more about the attackers style of play than the midfield being average.

Pogba in our midfield will see us create more clear cut chances added with his goal threat from midfield. I am looking forward to when Fred, McTominay and Pogba start together.

If we get Fernandez, the perfect formation will be a 4 4 2 diamond with McTominay and Fred covering for our fullbacks (Wan-Bissaka will become a problem) whilst Pogba controls the tempo and Fernandez joins the attack. Most likely though, the arrival of Fernandez signals the end of Pogba here.

It's only McTominay that I have seen passing the right kind of balls to James who in my opinion would benefit from playing with Pogba.

Since they have refused to give him decent opportunity as the no 10 i think he has to leave to save his career.

Our players pass to the feet, they hardly pass into space- sometimes because they lack the technique, at other times because the ball receivers are not mobile enough to find space to run into. Rashford, Pereira, Martial don’t really know how to do this.

Look at the second goal yesterday. The move that created the penalty.

We were in possession and have strung together a few passes together. But then suddenly Rashford was in the LB position (close to the midfield) and Brandon Williams, the actual LB, WAS WAY AHEAD of him in the opponent’s territory.

What’s interesting is that the young lad made himself available, knew how to adjust his position to create space for the through pass that Rashford gave him and made that blistering run into the 18 which eventually led to the penalty.

I hardly see Shaw do this. I hardly see our attackers freeing themselves from opponents to create that space.

Is it only me or has Martial actually been putting in a decent shift with his work rate and attitude of recent

If he keeps going like this, surrounded with the right players, he’ll score many goals.

Am more impressed by Rashidi goal record, honestly.
14 goals in the league alone.
He fit score pass 20 if he continues like this.

Nice goal-scoring run. Can’t remember the last time a Utd player was 2nd on the goldenboot list at this point in the season.

I like the fact that “Rashy” wink cool always makes himself available for selection. He’s got a knock but it’s likely he’ll feature against Wolves in midweek.

Baba needs to learn how to play better with his teammates though.

Pogba played all four matches in Ausgust and scored nil. He also played 90 minutes against Rochdale and scored nil

Last season, Pogba had only 6 goals in 35 matches. The rest seven were from penalties. Rashford is taking penalties this season, so how would Pogba get the goals you are talking about? He is at par with McTominay in terms of goals return. His Assists stats are also below par.

As for your other comment, Fred passes between the lines better than Herrera. Herrera has a higher work rate

It then means we have four forwards who all lack the ability to support a two man midfield. The midfield needs support for build up play.

Let us not behave like we have not seen Pogba played for us before. Which goal threats? Someone who scored only 6 goals from open play in 35 matches last season and scored nil in 7 matches this season. McTominay is more likely to hit target from outside the box than Pogba. Pogba also misses free header from 4 yards.

True that. They should convince him to sign then loan him out for 2 seasons.i wouldn't mind if Tachith Chong along joins them on loan too.

You have a short term memory, Pogba has had an difficult season with reoccurring injuries, when fit, he is our best midfielder. Forget that McTominay and Fred have picked up, we still need Pogba or a player of his ability in the team just so the likes of Lingard and Pereira take their rightful place on the bench...

Martial has been trying. His close control and ability to hold onto the ball in tight spaces is good for the team. If he becomes more ruthless, then the better for us.

Na u get short memory. Pogba played 35 matches last season and scored 6 goals only from open play. He was fully fit last season. Pogba is your best midfielder on name, not on performance. By performance last calendar year, he is below McTominay.

Also, in August, Pogba was fit and fired blank in all four matches. He missed free header twice from 4 yards and was ballooning shots like shooting stars of Ibadan. grin

Abeg stop this absolute rubbish about open play, haven't you seen players missing possible game deciding PKs? When Rashford and Martial took turns to miss PKs earlier in the season, didn't we all complain? Why didn't we say it's a Pk, let them miss it, it's better to score from open play?

Pogba will come back but the bad thing is that when he is fit and doing well, you'll never acknowledge him...

I wished you told the bolded to Coogar who introduced it here way back. Penalties taken by Rooney were successfully deducted in the course of our arguments. Anyway that is years past. However, goals from open play are the best to rate a player's goal scoring ability. Anyone taking penalties would always have stats in his favour.

For the records: Paul Pogba
131 matches for Manchester United
20 goals from open play
9 goals from penalty.
28 Assists

Leicester struggled in the Caraboa cup vs Villa even when they fielded a strong 11. After the City and Liverpool game, they have looked ordinary.
