GamalNasser: That's it? lol. You had so much to say before, now all of a sudden, you are mute like kabukabu stereo speaker. Are you also going to explain to us that by the end of 2014, GEJ devalued the naira and our foreign reserves was nearly depleted? When you put out your flawed and deceptive arguments, try at least to put all the facts on the table. 1 Like |

Your analysis is misleading. 1) Revenues payable to the Nigerian Customs Service are made in Naira and NOT dollars. 2) Fluctuations in the Foreign exchange rates is outside the mandate of the NCS. For example, if you make #15 million profit in 2014 and #20 million profit in 2018. It's an improvement in your business. However the conversation to dollars may prove otherwise but it's not within your powers to decide that. GamalNasser: 1 Like |

Even in 2014 and before TSA, they did not remit anything, they stole everything across-the-board in all revenue generating agencies. Today, even JAMB is breaking records with huge revenues. 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: Customs Generates N1.3tr In 2019, Exceeds Target By N404bn by Commentor: 7:28pm On Jan 12, 2020 |
chewwie: Seriously questions on what? The first serious question you should ask is "what is our population"? Next would be "what is the staff strength of the civil service"? Third would be "what is our GDP Per Capita"? These figures might sound big to the ear but with such an overblown population, it is minuscule. The citizens are largely unproductive and there's no whitewashing that can mask that. |

Johans1991:256 years ago, there was no oil, coal or any form of technological advancement, but Americans built America. In 1960, we had oil, agricultural equipment, but we have failed to develop our country. Will Nigeria be as developed as the USA after 256 years? At this backward rate of ours? Aren't there countries that gained independence after us and are doing better? Even look at Germany, World War I burnt the country to the ground, they rebuilt it. World War II and Hitler came and again, burnt Germany to the ground, in the 50s here oh, and they're one of the world's greatest countries. World War II brought Japan to her knees, see how they've rebuilt themselves. Stop defending nonsense. 1 Like |

Commentor:7 trillion Naira budget, 5 trillion in taxes, 1 trillion from customs, more than 1.5 million barrels of oil per day. 1. We have an estimated population of 201 million people. With 28% unemployment rate, the USA is at 3.4%, but Trump is clueless according to CNN. 2. How much is our minimum wage? How many people are employed in Nigeria? 3. Our GDP per capita is egregiously low, even Angola has a higher GDP per capita. Again, if 3-4 sectors can finance our annual budgets, why do we need to borrow unpayable sums to finance our budgets? Why can't we get our refineries and steel companies working? Why can't we have world class healthcare and education? Why do hundreds of thousands of children and pregnant women still die from malaria? Why do most regions in Nigeria lack electricity and clean water? Where do all these funds go? Hell, our government need to start giving a precise audit on how annual revenues are spent. |
