calabardick: House, I have a little story to narrate, it's kinda funny and long.
On Friday night I was at Badore with a friend, when I left his place I decided to go online with the hope of closing by 11:30. Few meter from his estate I got a request from one nasty lady.
Rider: oga where are you? Me: good evening, please kindly check your app you'll see my exact location. Rider: oh, please don't give me that app location shit, where are you? Me: good evening, I'm few meters away from your house. Rider: what if I don't answer your greeting what will happen? Please I requested for a ride not greetings come quick I'm late. Me: I'm here by your gate
She came out of the gate, entered the back seat, I didn't bother looking at her, the next she said was their usual, you can start the trip Mr. Greetings, I responded "thanks ma"
I started the trip, destination was DMATEL hotel, Lekki. When we get there she called her guy to come and pay, the young man came out, this is where the drama begins.
Rider: baby I'm here (she wave thro the window), then jump out of the car, gave him a tight hug. Boyfriend: oga, collect this for your new year (2k) Me: still on my seat, collected the money and I recognize him (my trainee) Rider: ingrate, you can't even thank me Me: I called the guy by name (Collins), I stepped out of the car
The atmosphere changed Collins: who are you, you know me? (He came closer) Me: Remove my hat, shake his hands, he melt Collins: sir, you do Uber? Me: I held his hand and walk towards the lady, (she was already at the reception) Rider: baby any problem? Where did you know him? Collins: Stella are you blind, look at him very well Rider: Jesus! She knelt down
Collins is the latest in my team, joined September, a trainee, he reports directly to me (we are together now preparing to go offshore), while the nasty Stella is a trainee in my unit as well, she works with my departmental store manager.
Me: Collins so na you dey light this hot and nasty oven? Collins: sir this's our first date, I came into town today to resume on Monday Me: you owe me no explanation nor apology, just be careful else you'll loose your job, all eyes on her big booty. Stella: sir please I'm sorry I wasn't on my right mindset Me: Stella, every driver you see out there are humans like you, they deserve to be treated with love, care and respect. It's the unpredictability of life that put them out there, some had or have better jobs than you, some have families, wifes, daughters like you, sisters like you, some are more educated than you.
Those young men out there risk their lives, abandoned their families, friends and love ones, they risk their cars, those that doesn't have it go as far as leasing it just to keep life going, they risk their time, and resources just to get you to your destination safely and yet you treat them like trash Stella because your think you're doing them a favor. Because You think you're somebody and they're nobody, because you think you've arrived, Stella I'm disappointed in you. I have many military boys as friends doing Uber, what if it was one of them you did this to?
God is the breath of life in you, you sin, you offend him every moment of your existence, has He ever treated you that way? Why are you so wicked Stella. Why are you doing this to yourself? Don't you know when you deliberately cause pains to others greater pains await you? Stella Can I surprise you? You failed all your tests when you came for interview my boss dropped you but I begged him to accept you, God positioned me there for you, though I knew you from nowhere, I saw you as my little sister, I wouldn't want you to go out there selling yourself. Everyone rejected you including your supposed seismic unit leader. I have to beg the store manager to accept you with hope of transferring you to the seismic unit when the oldest intend is gone. Stella you break my heart this night, it shouldn't be you. What if I intended marrying you or your suitor meet me to find out few things about you, what will you think I will tell him about you?
I've never seen the kind of brokenness I saw in that lady that night, she cried her soul out, she begged me and vowed never to maltreat anyone. I held her, lift her up, hugged her, hugged Collins then departed from them. I spoke with Collins yesterday he said that the lady cried and weep till day break, she neither eat nor drink.
Today we had our first operations meeting for the year, then after the meeting we had our first management meeting as well. Last night I spoke with some of my guys to help me vote Stella to seismic unit. I beg the store manager to make the move. So during departmental reports the store manager nominates her for seismic and the seismic team lead opposed the nomination (as I instructed him) though he didn't know that I have already campaigned for others to vote, and the only way it can resort to voting is when the proposed team lead oppos the move.
My boss said we should vote, we did and Stella won.
We sent for her, immediately she entered the exco-chamber her soul left her as she didn't know why she was invited (this was her first time in the chamber). I stood up.... Called her by her name..
Stella, uuhh, the management have decided to .......... to drop you from ........from the store effective now, your service is no longer required .............. required there. Handover everything concerning the store to the store manager. I paused while staring at her for like 30 seconds, then I proceeded. Then in addition, we are glad to inform you that you've been redeployed to the seismic department, from tomorrow you're resuming there, go home and prepare to resume tomorrow. ( I said these stammering and dragging the words).
To my greatest surprise this lady stood there, within a blink Stella collapse, there was confusion in the room. Safety and medics entered with a stretcher and take her to our clinic downstairs.
After the meeting my boss asked me to carry his laptop and follow him, when I get to his office he asked me what is the problem between me and Stella, I told him I don't have any problem with her, I narrated the whole incidence to my boss, he was surprise. The only thing he said was "forgive her John" I told him that I forgive people even before they offend me.
I visited her in the medics, she was fine. She asked me which church I attend, I told her it's not by church but the fear of God in you and your respect and love for humanity. She came to my office spend the whole day with me, we drove home together with Collins , now both of them are in my place.
5 of my colleagues are ready to join Uber, 3 have already ordered for 2010 Civic as I recommended, expecting delivery this evening. They've registered online, took the test, waiting for their result.
what I experience about life is; what others does to you doesn't count, it's your reaction that determines your reward.
What's the name of this Nigeria movie. E sweet die, I go try watch am... Haha na joke o, b4 u guys start throwing tatrums on me oo 7 Likes |

AngryIgboMan: So yesterday at Marina inder bridge enroute Ahmadu Bello, something very funny happened.
This kabu kabu guy was loading at an illegal spot. LASTMA officials moving around in a towing van suddenly blocked him.
In my mind, I was like "Its over for this guy".
What happened next was quite intriguing and thrilling.
If not that I already saw an oily looking Yoruba guy loading the car before, I would have sworn Vin Diesel was the guy behind the wheels.
This guy quickly entered his car, switched it on, revved a little and the next thing I heard was a loud GBOWAAAAA. Wow!
This guy in one swell move, hit one of the Lastma officials onto their Towing Van and In so doing, the Lastma guy leg was severely damaged. The Kabu Kabu guy also damaged the towing Van rear light
He revved back again and as he was charging like a Bull the second time, no be person tell other LASTMA guys to Japa... Lol.
O boy in all my hard man, me I jejely cleared for the road for this guy to escape wella because as am seeing the JAKPO look on his face, he was ready to level the whole Lagos to escape
The mumu guy they hit on the leg was lying on the ground vituperating in Yoruba shouting .... Egba Mi Oo Egba Mi oo.
Seems like the hit rendered there car immobile too
One LASTMA guy was trying to flag me down to carry there colleague. As I remembered all I suffered in the hands of LASTMA last year to the tune of 87k, I smiled at the guy lying on the floor and whispered softly to myself;
"EGBA MI KEE YOU DIA".
I drove on like a boss smilling like a soldier that just won a battle. The event sweet me no be small
But this guy don die sha....cos I'm sure his plate must have been taken. Infact, him career don end for Nigeria. |

I said perfect, give me your name right now and we will verify and he refused. Unfortunately for him, he was going where I live. timilehing: Happened to me September last year. My ABS light was on so I took it for scanning. Dude said 3 sensors are bad & each is 30k. The worst, my car refused to start after. He came back telling me no fuel in the car, I said Oga check the fuel gauge na. I had to give him 1500 to buy extra fuel, same thing. He came back telling me my fuel pump is bad. I told him to find a solution & I just went straight to the reception to sit down. Was there from 12 till 5pm before he found a solution. I later found out that my tyre cut off one of the ABS wires. Seriously? |

Good morning elders and young hustlers in the Ehailing line... I greet you all.
So I got a car and have been trying to use it to hustle. The owner asked for weekly remittance of 25k and I take care of the servicing and minor repairs within 5k.
However, I noticed the car was consuming fuel like na air. At first, I used 2.5k fuel to work and I got 3k. Partly my fault cos I was driving around most of the time in search of request. Then I took the car for diagnosis and it was detected that the catalyst has been tampered with.
I complained to the owner and he bought a direct Belgium catalyst for the one on the engine and panel beater (Kazeem's brother advised we just buy any good cheap one for the one under the car and cut-to-fit, which we did and I was able to use 5k fuel to make 11k.
I actually noticed my fuel gauge drops drastically after a trip on highway (trust majority of Abuja roads, they are major highways and wide, so you can throttle for 10mins without applying brakes. I told kazeem and he brought out the O2 sensor on the exhaust Manifold, used meter to read and tell me it's not reading.
I went to the market bought 2 sensors and changed the first two sensors leaving the last one, yet no noticeable improvement.
This morning, I remembered I had an OBD 2 Bluetooth scanner I was using on my Highlander, so I used it to scan the car... Got several faults, including the O2 sensors. However, I decided to clear the faults as they might be old faults stored in the ECU. Then drove the car around for 15mins and did another scan.
Below are the fault codes I was able to pick.
Please, what should kazeem do according to these fault codes. |
