She's been on amploclox since morning

See a dermatologist, a mild steroid cream and antibiotics will probably do the job.

Please help diagnose this thing on my daughter's head. That thing looks like small small boils all over her head. It pains her alot and she doesnt want anyone to touch her head especially when bathing. She 3yrs old, eats well and very active.

It started 4 days ago and progressed to this stage.

Other Sypmtoms include:

She doesnt sleep well at night becauese of pains on her head.

High temp especially around 1am-5am ( we have been using paracetamol to calm bown the temp)

Little rashes on her neck and lower back.

Her hair doesnt grow evenly (though we have noticed this for a while)
my younger sister once had similar case when she was little and her hair was not growing normal my mum used sulphur 8. hair cream to treat it and it works. you shoud try same.

This is a species of Acalypha wilkesiana popularly called ewe eela in Yoruba .

Used for curing body rashes in children below the age of 5 years ..

Some drink it but it's best you use it to bath the child ..

Why not try that?

My daughter had a similar infection few months ago. Also came down to her neck and back. We went to hospital, but they could not really detect the exact cause. She was initially placed on some antibiotics that didn’t give much results. We took her to another doctor, who placed her on some antihistamine creme and some bath lotion. It’s cleared now. Though she still scratch her head occasionally. I would advise you take her to the hospital preferably a Dermatologist. Hoping this info is useful

Maybe i will evetually. If it is something i can take care at home, that is what i wqnt to know.

A skin sensitivity to foreign object, like lotion, cream, soap, water, insect bite and so on will give rash and sensation that can turn to blisters if not promptly attended to. This usually is result of surface contact.

What I see here looks like rash or blisters on the scalp, but I am cautious to conclude that because it also looks like it could be under the skin tissue.

Was something rubbed in her hair? Was her scalp stung by an insect? In case of a sting the venom could have penetrated below the skin and into the blood/tissues.

If this was a mere skin surface disturbance I could support local treatment at home. This situation is more than just a skin surface irritation. Therefore I advise you consult doctor for correct diagnosis and treatment.

If you prefer traditional medicine, and live in Yorubaland, there are people called Elewe Omo, you can find their stalls in many markets, take her there. They will inspect her and tell you if they have a treatment, if not they have specialists in their network they can refer her to.

Dont waste time or treat this situation mildly. If she cant sleep at night then she is already suffering.

Now, let me say this generally, venom bites from nocturnal insects or animals usually fight the body at nocturnal times. I believe something, a night creature stung her.

Get care and relief for her immediately.

Let me tell you, there was a time I had boil, I had gone to hospital, taken drugs... Spent over 30,000 naira but this small boil was still shiny and refuse to go. Bought various drugs some where 2500 to 3000. Taken antibiotics.

I had to go to two medical labs still saying same thing and the drugs and injection they prescribed could not do anything.

I had to search online, search for similar images online and I landed here on nairaland. And I saw where one girl like that suffered from same issue and called the drugs she used.... I went to the store to get it for just 350 naira and 3 days that boil dried up... Its over 3 years now.

So don't ask people not to discuss their problems here, it will help thousands if not million of people some day.

Even most doctors do prescribe drugs based on similar cases they have handled before

Thanks so much for the enlightenment a little help could do a whole lot of good.

It will not pass very tight hairstyles.
I might be wrong though

I wanted to say this.
It looks like what the Yoruba people call gbindingbindin. I may be wrong though. If it is gbindingbindin, no cause for alarm. Just stop disturbing the little girl's scalp with all these "tight fitting" hair styles.

As I am not sure if it is gbindingbindin or not, visit the hospital has suggested by some people.

Very good info!

If it is histamine attack, that would be an allergic reaction.

You said she still scratches her head? Try a cream called Alveno or Aveno or something like that.

My skin was itchy and dry one harmattan season some years back and it turned to painful rash. My pharmacist told me to use the cream. It worked like magic. Its not cheap but worked.
See if that could further help.

Goodluck!

Your daughter needs a Savlon Bath using a fresh towel on the affected area twice or three times a day. Within 3 days you should observe improvement and after a week it should be dried up.
