xavuv: A skin sensitivity to foreign object, like lotion, cream, soap, water, insect bite and so on will give rash and sensation that can turn to blisters if not promptly attended to. This usually is result of surface contact. What I see here looks like rash or blisters on the scalp, but I am cautious to conclude that because it also looks like it could be under the skin tissue. Was something rubbed in her hair? Was her scalp stung by an insect? In case of a sting the venom could have penetrated below the skin and into the blood/tissues. If this was a mere skin surface disturbance I could support local treatment at home. This situation is more than just a skin surface irritation. Therefore I advise you consult doctor for correct diagnosis and treatment. If you prefer traditional medicine, and live in Yorubaland, there are people called Elewe Omo, you can find their stalls in many markets, take her there. They will inspect her and tell you if they have a treatment, if not they have specialists in their network they can refer her to. Dont waste time or treat this situation mildly. If she cant sleep at night then she is already suffering. Now, let me say this generally, venom bites from nocturnal insects or animals usually fight the body at nocturnal times. I believe something, a night creature stung her. Get care and relief for her immediately. 2 Likes |

LadySarah: I wanted to say this. It looks like what the Yoruba people call gbindingbindin. I may be wrong though. If it is gbindingbindin, no cause for alarm. Just stop disturbing the little girl's scalp with all these "tight fitting" hair styles. As I am not sure if it is gbindingbindin or not, visit the hospital has suggested by some people. 3 Likes |

halfcurrent: Very good info! If it is histamine attack, that would be an allergic reaction. You said she still scratches her head? Try a cream called Alveno or Aveno or something like that. My skin was itchy and dry one harmattan season some years back and it turned to painful rash. My pharmacist told me to use the cream. It worked like magic. Its not cheap but worked. See if that could further help. Goodluck! |

Your daughter needs a Savlon Bath using a fresh towel on the affected area twice or three times a day. Within 3 days you should observe improvement and after a week it should be dried up. |
