I'd never understand why some people make everything seem very difficult.
Adjo10 has greatly helped people with her knowledge, freely dishing them even when unsolicited. You can see a genuine happiness to liberate others.

Yet others on this thread who are less committed to helping people but more concerned about showing off how informed they are readily jump out like class prefects to prevent further enlightenment.

Aside my question 1,
Please can you show me ANYWHERE on all 44pages of this thread where questions 2, 3 and 4 of mine were answered as those were specifics to my case?

To think that just in December you too were asking dumb questions about language and jobs.
I guess you hadn't created your selfish Rule of reading from page 1-44 then?

Please Juliusocean, if you do not have my answers or do not want to help, kindly go back to selling maps to tourists in Togo while praying that your asylum is granted rather than make every one who asks for guidance appear lazy to read.

Afelouz got his visa yet asked a few more questions...does that mean he didn't read?

I specifically did not call you to help considering your haughtiness and penchance to scorn others; something you and a few others have not even tried to hide all through this thread.

Chriscole any news?
Have you gotten your visa..Please keep us updated

Your questions didn't come from a clueless person but still you didn't need to insult him for suggesting you go through the thread. Answer to some of your questions are already on the thread that's why it's necessary to read and reread, you will notice that each time you read the thread you will find something new you previously omitted or something you read and forgot.

Samuelsoma has answered most of your questions so I'll just add small input.

question regarding minors:
Since the minors are your children and they will be accompanied by their parents therefore they won't be need for any consent form, you only need to include their birth certificate with their application.

Question regarding submission of application:

You can waybill your application through any authorized courier coy and it should include a return waybill slip but I will suggest you submit in person if your have the resources to do that because that improves your chances of getting the visa by over 50% as the admins will minute on your application the state of applicant at point of submission.

That's all.

Congrats on getting your Visa. This your Visa took so long cos you did your interview before me.

When did you state as your travel date on your application? I wanna know if that's the likely reason for the delay.

Someone on here is in similar situation so your answer could be a relief to her.
It was December. I was thinking of going to retrieve my passport then boom!!

Your wife having her father's name isn't an issue at all, so dont be bothered about that bro. You have your marriage cert and that is enough, if they ever ask for it. There are always scenerios of bf/gf going to give birth and they still obtain their PR, so dont bother yourself about name change for her until after you have gotten your citizenship, that will make things easier for you. Goodluck bro
Samuelsoma:
Actually, it is always more expensive for tourist, so i can suggest that you should probably make do with online learning for now...Youtube

Thanks alot. I know how to move forward now. You are in Sao Paulo right?

Good job Adjo10, Brexiteer, afelouz, techspot, shallypop and others

My questions are these,.

1). Are our children in Nigeria eligible for the citizenship or must they be physically present in Brazil at the time?
They must be physically present. You can also decide to come with your husband alone, get the PR for you and hubby and whenever you want to come back to brazil with the kids, they can apply for a separate visa category based on their Brazilian sibling.

2). I am only 8weeks gone and very "invisible".
Can we mail in our application and wait to be invited since we don't live in Lagos or should we travel down to Lagos just to submit and possibly still get invited again as we live in Cross river which is such a distance for a double trip.. Either ways is fine, but preferably in person

3). Better still,
Considering you are already there and well experienced,
will you advice myself and hubby to totally relocate...it's been our life long dream just for the kids to have a better life, we have quite good jobs here in Naija.
Wondering if it be a worthy risk ditching our sought-after jobs to chart this new course?
I wont advice you to leave your job.
Before you can get a job here you must be able to speak Portuguese fluently same as starting a business. Hardly will you see an opening for someone who speaks only english. Factor atleast a 6months - 1 year to learn Portuguese into your plans. Its better you relocate with the kids if you can while your husband support from home and visit you until you guys figures out how to move forward. You also dont need any consent for the kids

Thank you

Do people really want to go to Brazil just to give birth there?

Please house... I will like to know if there is an active page here on Nairaland on how to study and gain admission in one of the Brazilian schools.
Better still...

If anyone have info or idea on how I can gain admission...

The tuition fee on any cheap school or how much I need to have before proceeding with admission in Brazil...

The school Nigerians apply for...

if they give admission to Nigerians...

If Portuguese language is important before gaining admission...

as I'm planning to go for my masters program.

Please I need your help and advice.

Thanks

Thank you brother, thank you TechSpot too.
May God give us all great favour.
I took your advice and we are all applying as a family. Sad thing is that our airline reservation expires in a few days but info on this thread says it doesn't matter.

I need to know from you and others are already there as no one has talked about it here.

Do the entry officers have any reservations about coming in with an open flight ticket or one with a longer duration than the number of days stated in your visa application.

Or should we just come in with a return ticket reflecting our supposed days of holiday which is 9 days.

Thank you once again.

Brother,
What's the survival tip in Brazil for a guy waiting for his wife to give birth?
Re: Giving Birth In Brazil by Samuelsoma: 8:07am On Jan 15, 2020
I will advice that you should come with a return ticket and shouldn't let your flight ticket be too long, remember you specified that you are going on a tourist visit so they aint expecting you to come spend months there as a tourist. Normally you are expected to return to your country, therefore you should have a return ticket. Dont let them starting suspecting any other motives of yours, so pls just do everything accordingly to be on a safe side, cos you never know the kind of officer you will meet at the point of entry. The way you will be treated at the POE solely depends on the individual officer you meet, so play safe pls. Just do everything and prepare yourself for entry as one would do if you were going to give birth in the US. I remembered when I was coming into brazil then, I even deleted everything that is related to child birthing on my phone cos I had the mind that what if the officer I meet is as crazy as those officers at the point of entry in the US grin cheesy. After you arrive in Brazil you can decide to change your return dates. Goodluck

Brother,
What's the survival tip in Brazil for a guy waiting for his wife to give birth?

The surviving tip is to take good care of your wife and to be born child and make sure they are as comfortable as possible. The future of the entire family depends on these 2 people. So come to Brazil with enough money and time and look after your family. Everything else will fall in place when your baby is born. That baby is the key and do not play with that key. My humble view . Cheers

It all depends on the area you choose to live. There are high-bred areas and medium range areas too. it also depends on the type of apartment, is it furnished or empty apartment?
The houses you will get Out here will most likely be empty so if you cant go through the stress of searching for apartment, contract palaver. Just use airbnb for your entire stay.

Good day my great family. I would like to ask some question. Abeg make nobody yab me oooooo.

1. For people travelling with toddlers. How can one cope with the language barrier and i hope a new language wont confuse the little one.

2. Can one get a nanny there to help with the new baby as i might not have a support system coming with me.

3. @ Auntie Adjo10; is it possible to make payments for Private hospital care whilst in Nigeria.

Obrigado

Hello sappy1981. Thanks. I would clarify something general then answer your specific questions.

First and foremost your Brazilian baby passes on PR and or Provisional citizenship to both parents, siblings- (past, present and future) and grandparents irrespective of where the category of people mentioned were at the time of birth. This means, your other children will qualify for PR even if they don’t accompany you to Brazil at the time of birth.

To however apply for PR or Prov Citizenship, they will have to visit Policia Federal in Brazil for application. So in summary, you don’t really have to take them along now if you have the option of leaving them with their Dad in Nigeria. The most important thing is that your baby is born in Brazil. They older children can always obtain a family reunification visa at the embassy later to come to Brazil to apply for their PR or Prov Citizenship. The embassy cannot deny them because it is their constitutional right. This fact i just stated is valid as of today and it will be valid unless anything changes in the mere future.

If you can take them now, them please do but if you can’t please don’t force yourself. The most important thing is that your newborn is born in Brazil, everything else is “easy” after that. Cheers

1. New language confuses everyone lol, even adults. But children can quickly adjust and it makes your children open minded by being outside their comfort zone.

2. Yes

3. Not recommended. Get here first, visit the private hospital yourself and ask for a tour of the facilities and secure a better deal.

In most cases, the visa is valid for 1 year and you can stay in Brazil for a maximum of 180 days within that one year. There can however be exceptions where it can be issued for a shorter period.

Well said. Also note that for Nigerians, you can extend it for another 90 days at the Polícia Federal office in Brazil. Just make sure that when you go for your renewal, you still appear like a tourist if your baby is not yet born. If they suspect that you have other motives than being a tourist, then they will not extend it for you because your original visa itself is a tourist visa.

Cheers

Generally, if you are not leaving the international area of the airport and you are only connecting to a flight, then you don’t need a visa. I will however suggest you contact air Morroco to be on the safe side.

You need a return ticket because you are going in as a tourist. You can cancel your ticket once you enter Brazil. The immigration officer at the point of entry can refuse you entry without a valid return ticket. Some officers check, some don’t. I advice is to purchase a return ticket to be on the safer side. We personally lost money because our return ticket was refundable. The officer never checked but that was the price we had to pay to give our child options in life. Don’t risk it. Cheers

Hello all, I am very new here and i have silently taken my time to read through all the previous post/messages. And hmmmm, what can I say? I can only wish I got here much earlier cos I look like I am 5 months gone yet I'm just in my first trim.

However, God bless @Adjo10 and all other contributors for their support and encouragement.
