Hello. I have successfully renewed my Visa after paying the discount I was given. If you enjoyed a discount, just call the hospital account department and tell them you want to pay the discount you were given. After paying the discount, ask for a new itemized bill. With your new itemized bill which shows you paid for your treatment in full, you can proceed to apply for renewal. Another thing, which I believe is extremely important is also to pray for God's favour. Do your bit and believe in God that you would find favour when you go for your interview. Cheers! TheEnforcer: The VOs have posted on Nairaland explicitly that they do not read the change of intent letter nor attach it to your file. This issue is no longer an issue of speculation. 2 Likes |

TWoods: Yes, but we did read here from people who got called in for interview after/for sending that letter, some were able to wriggle through the ensuing interview successfully, some had their visas cancelled (even husband's by extension were affected), some that didn't turn up at the Embassy couldn't fly with their visa, etc. 4 Likes |

TWoods: By now you should have known that Nigerians are not that easy to convince to do the right thing once the mind is adamant to do what pleases them. However, learning the hard way after being punished is how Nigerians learn. 2 Likes |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by TWoods(m): 7:34pm On Jan 13, 2020 |
Beautyaddy: Agreed. My concern is limited to the unsuspecting genuine travelers who increasingly have a harder time convincing VOs of genuine intent because of those who have gone ahead and ruined it for others. One has to learn very quickly that in Nigeria, the mantra is “me first, screw everyone else”. 1 Like 1 Share |

Mamajam: God have nothing to do with it, you were renewed because you paid in full. Medical care is a big issue for Americans, how do you think they see it when foreigners come and receive discounts that they have to pay 5 Likes |

God has everything to do with it! First and most important, I would not have been able to make the payment in full if God didn't provide the source of income. Also, there are people who go for their interviews and the VOs just outrightly deny their applications without asking questions. So please keep your disbelief to yourself. This information is worth reading, we been reading denial denial for a while now. I think the US are trying to make money from us by making us do the right thing. i wish the hospital can put every cost without discount so that you are aware from the beginning. I haven't renewed mine but i have commenced a process of making payment back to hospital to reduce my discount. Total amount charge was $13700 , i have paid up 9k. I hope to pay up the remaining or make up to 12k. It is a task i have to do if that is what will make me successful. Mamajam: |

Miriam88: You dont have to. Just travel with your previous receipts and enough cash to show for your second childbirth trip. I came in on Christmas day with a smooth poe at JFK. Although my cash wasn't check, just my previous Bill. 1 Like |

Okay. So on this issue of paying back discount to renew visa, what if you pay a part of the discount and not all. Will the visa be granted. Anyone with such experience. Or anyone paying back the discount on a payment plan? And tried to renew and the visa granted. I mean we have people with discounts of 15k, 18k, 20k bla bla. Where will one start from in paying back that one. 1 Like |

Good day house. I'd like to please clarify on this issue of discount. What I have on my hospital bill is 'self pay, no insurance system adjusted' . From $28,503 my bill was adjusted to $7,038 which I paid for C/S delivery in 2018. Is this the same as discount & if it is, does it mean I'll have to pay the adjusted value of $21,000+ before considering visa renewal? Kindly advise. 1 Like |

amobola: This is what me too I'm asking o. Would paying a part of it suffix?. Or would having a payment plan suffix. Or better still, one would just sit àt home and go somewhere else till America decides to come back to their senses. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by OmoBendel24: 8:57pm On Jan 14, 2020 |
lami88: Lolz! That's actually a lot of difference to offset though. If the opportunity is there to make amends by way of more payment, I'd think getting it up to some 12-15k may make sense. Let's not forget that the previous 8-10k or less was out of pocket.... It's a long thing with the US visa ish for those that birthed previously in the US, so methinks. There isn't even any clearcut blueprint from the embassy on this. One would go pay another 2-5M Nigeria Naira and maybe get turned down thereafter, that'd be crazy you know. 4 Likes |

Hey guys, I just came across this thread and must say I have gathered a whole lot of info, but would like to seek advise from the guys here. I got a b1/b2 visa last yr for the purpose of a business trip which I went for and returned to Nigeria after a few weeks. Now am thinking of going to birth with this visa, I reached out to my company and was asked to send a mail to the embassy to inform them but I got an automated response from the embassy. Am not sure to do now cos after reading this thread, it seems one stands a chance of your visa getting cancelled if you decide to apply for a medical visa which I wouldn't want cos I should be going on another business trip end of the year with this visa. |

What you need is a doctor that will give you the cost of delivery which includes, Doctors fees Hospital fees for VB or CS (for well-baby and well mama) etc Make sure you have enough money to cover for the cost when you go for your interview or travel. As for giving you hospital, use google to look for hospitals in your location of choice and start calling all of them Lankesolanke: 1 Like |

stephye: You got an automated response because they have told us that change of intent does not work again. infact you sending it has put your details and info on alert for them. Scroll back to the previous page and see the 4 options you have. While i would subscribe to option 1 of reapplying for a B2 visa so that your mind is free especially as you have sent change of intent, option 3 seems the best except if you are sent back at the POE and not allowed in. But if you manage to scale POE, pls pay all your bills with no discount. don't accept self pay packages less then 10k. Then your chances at a renewal will be quite high. (not guaranteed but really really high). 3 Likes |

OmoBendel24: Exactly my thoughts. No clear cut blue print We can only use other peoples experience as a guideline to what the embassy wants. Like you said, anyone with discounts who paid less than 10k can pay more getting it up to 10k or 12k plus, then try their luck with the embassy. If it works, then we can know whatsup. But to now that paying about 21k difference doesmt make any sense, all in a bit to renew a visa. I know people who are well travelled across thw globe and have never been to america before. Its not a do or die affair 4 Likes |

My dear it seem so because i reached oakbend and they said i should pay the discounted bill of $19k plus if i want an itemised bill without discounts included. Thats after i paid $10,884 out of pocket for cs for my twins which includes hospital fee, doctor fee, nursery fee and anaesthetic quote author=amobola post=85797393]Good day house.
