In Ajaokuta, literally or metaphorically, lies our industrial and technological breakthrough. Metallurgy is a strategic sector in every developed economy. In the early eras, if a nation conquered another nation and wanted to make sure that the conquered nation remains subjugated under its vassalage, IT IMMEDIATELY BANISHES THE PROFESSION OF BLACKSMITHING. It hasn't changed much even in this 21st century. Ajaokuta remains the biggest industrial complex in the whole of the subregion (W.A.); its misery is indeed our misery. If we were a people 'blessed' with strategy, we wouldn't eat our next bread till that plant (or another of its kind) starts running. We are heating up the wrong 'furnace'—the oven. 15 Likes |

OBJ made a lot of noise back then too, I believe Baba will finally do something about it. The problem back then was that all those money that were suppose to revive those companies are being embezzled., Yet they don't want to borrow to revive the companies. Buhari is setting a good standard, whoever succeeds him should follow on in his path, else trouble awaits he/she,cos people are now much more enlightened and interested in what is going on in government, unlike before. 16 Likes 5 Shares |

So now they need another N500 billion to complete it? What are they going to manufacture here? Tablets to extend life by 100 years or syrup to cure madness? Ajaokuta is the biggest single project scam in the history of Nigeria. I remember how Bola Ige exposed their practice of giving N2 million ( then about $20,000) to the over seeing Federal Minister each time he paid a visit there. It had been happening for decades and no one exposed it until Bola Ige paid a visit in 1999 as the then Minister of Mines and Power. 13 Likes |

Seriously intern of infrastructural development d president is trying compare to all d past administrations . Nigeria will be better if we start to hold our senator in our constituency, governor in our state, etc responsible for some issues.. Y must it be president only? 98% of our blames are always on him then what is the function and meaning of the money they are collecting. Look around and tell the major projects that SENATOR in ur constituency has done or is doing? Then what hell is the function of all the money they are receiving and claiming to be serving us. Don't talk of wheelbarrow distribution or grinding machines as development project o. If we cannot blame them or they are not of any function then we should scrap them and use dia giant salaries for country development and centralise power to presidency only then we can hold him to cross for our problems. 11 Likes 6 Shares |
