ikhalyfah: It might be true to some extent. But in the second survey, he said a large chunk of the revuenue is generated from existing customers who bought domain names from him. How??, by selling another domain name?? Maybe. Or by helping the end user to build new websites on those domain names?? Possibly. More so, Rohit Goyal, the guy behind Domain Mojito, was the one who posted the stat in the image above (shared by Beckplanet) on LinkedIn. He owns a website (http://www.smehelp.in) which focus on internet marketing service, and website development is one of the services. He might not be the one who developed all the new websites, but I believe he part take in some of them. 1 Like |

Learning is a continuous process. For those who have had decent sales experience with both brandables and geo domains, do you know that STEADY sales do not necessarily tell you everything about the quality of names you sold? How, you may ask. Well, how many times have you gone back to check up your sold names to see what their current owners are using them for? 1. Are they hosting completely new sites on them? 2. Are they redirecting them to existing sites? 3. Did they entirely replace existing sites that were hosted on less superior TLD with your names (.net to .com)? 4. Are they simply there without even a change in nameserver (No more interest, or fellow domainer)? 1-3 will give you a clearer picture about the type of names you should register more, and a better pricing system to adopt. While IMHO, 4 reveals the type of names you shouldn't spend so much energy on (even if you sold them in the $200-$400 range). Remember the Pareto Principle. This is the age of data. Let's start collecting and analysing these sets of data more closely. Smart work WILL ALWAYS trump hard work, anytime, any day. Cheers. 18 Likes 2 Shares |

beckplanet: it can be annoying considering the wait times, I submit more of unregistered names(sometimes while on queue, it gets registered by someone else) My other strategy for BB is to comb through their barter sales channel on Slack. There are quality names there starting from $20-$1000. Names that are already listed with long or short renewal date. Then there are those selling accepted unregistered names too from $8-$50 This second option will save you the wait time. Most SH accepted names get rejected by BB & vice versa. once To submit a name, I usually search BB, if there are no similar keyword or pattern, I dont submit. 2 Likes |

tranxo:You've made some valid points as usual. I have since known that about 80% of sales made here never leave the marketplace. In fact, there is a sales report of about 6 names by brand uche almost a year ago. All the names are still pointing to dan as I type this. However, from my own little experience, it doesn't necessarily mean the names are not better in quality than the ones that are in use. Any of several reasons might have caused the name to remain in the marketplace or expired without being used. For instance, I sold a name to an end user in march last year. Later, I pitched the plural to him. He snubbed me. Regardless, I kept checking the status of the name I sold him. He never took it from the marketplace. I followed up asking him why he hasn't taken possession of the name and if he needed help with that. He snubbed. It was later when I tracked him down I discovered that he had relocated to another city. The name was a city + one-word service. Another reason could also be that enduser moved on to a different venture after purchasing the name. He probably changed his mind. It happens. This doesn't mean the name isn't of better quality than those that were bought and used. It simply means the end user wasn't the right buyer. But, as at the time of purchase, both the seller and the buyer didn't know this. The first name I sold is currently being used as the main website name. And this name is nowhere as catchy and memorable as some that are still chilling in the marketplace after purchase. I even followed this suggestion you made and registered 2 names that are similar to it (since it's in use). They didn't sell. Only one offer, and the lead disappeared after I countered. Geofavor:Another reason could be, The enduser purchased the name at a cheap price of 150-350 just to prevent his competitors from landing their hands on it! And if we are to ignore the type of names 80% of users don't put into use, then i think the only names that will be available to purchase will be from a (backorder) auctions. I don't know about y'all, but me my pocket neva deep to de enta auctions oooo 4 Likes |

A little something.. Always try to maximize your profit by taking advantage of promos. Yes, these registrars giving promo have high renewal fees. But i think you can register at $1-$3 with them, when domain is due to expire u can transfer to a bigger registrar at $8-$9 which most of them increase one year to the domain's life. Thereby spending $10-$11 on each name instead of the regular $16-18 Do the maths and see how much u can save in naira.. I just checked and noticed i have registered 71 names since I started, ALL AT THE COST OF $261, average of $3.7/name During renewal i intend to move all names i wish to renew to Epik, at cost of $8+/name which grants me 1yr additional on each name... In case of registrars that have no account with Dan, u can chill 60days b4 starting outbound (for outboundable) names, so as to save yourself some stress. Correct me if I'm wrong please! 12 Likes 1 Share |

ikhalyfah: Isn't there a cost associated with transfers or so I thought |
Re: What To Do To Make Money Online? by ikhalyfah(m): 2:01pm On Jan 15, 2020 |
Josmila:Yes, for epik is $8+, but it increases 1yr to your domain life, so it's just as though u have renewed@ 8$ instead of that $15 or so ur current (promo) registrar is charging 3 Likes |

ikhalyfah: Oh wow, didn't know this.. Again, you're saying you only get to pay let's say $8 only which is the transfer cost? If that's the case, that's such a good bargain 1 Like |
Re: What To Do To Make Money Online? by ikhalyfah(m): 2:08pm On Jan 15, 2020 |
Josmila:Yes, that's only what u have to pay. A very good bargain. 1. U are running away from less reputable registrars 2. U are saving whole lot of naira. A real lot of it! 2 Likes |
