Goodevening all....

Please for all applicants and Prospective applicants... kindly follow the UKVI rules and regulations.

There is no short cut to UK immigration rules. So many weird things have been happening of recent with people using AGENT for their application. Please be careful so that you won't be banned from entering UK for 10 years. I think part of those reasons for the recent delay in visa application was due to some Nigerians using agents and thereby submitting fraudulent documents. I have witnessed 2 people applying to UK for January 2020 admission and been denied and then banned for 10 years because of their agent foolishness.

I warned both to resist from using agent but none listen to me so I have no apology to give to them. sad

Yes I did. I think that was the day the decision was made. I'd like to believe if the CAS is used, then the visa has been granted, but that's my personal opinion. If you just got that mail, you're probably going to receive the passport in the next few days. Mine came 4days after.

Not necessarily that visa was granted. The COS can be used and the visa still denied.

Most landlords will accept council tax letter from uni with ur data page of international passport and a month rent deposit. Try gumtree, SpareRoom or even fb market place for vacancies in ur area.

You can also get references from your student union rep or personal tutor in uni

For a one bedroom in a shared house, yes. You’re right. And a shared house being what we would normally refer to as *face me, I face you* in Nigeria. The council tax letter from the school has nothing to do with affordability of your rent. It’s just a letter that exempts you from paying monthly council tax as a full time student, which your landlord needs so that the council does not come after him/her.

Good day boss, I intend applying for Masters in Information Systems/ Analytics in Business in the UK/Ireland against September. As a matter of fact, I already have an offer from Aston. I would really like to know what the job prospects for the aforementioned course looks like in the UK. Your response should go a long way in my decision making coupled with my own research.

Thank you...

I will try to respond from a full time students perspective. Now during term time, you’re only allowed to work 20hrs per week. No project management or Business analyst job will allow you work just 20hrs a week. These jobs are highly professional full time jobs! They are your regular 9-5 jobs are WFH full time jobs.

As a graduate, and I’m being very honest here, except you’re a SME, hardly will any company grant you COS for a Business analyst role or a project manager. Again, I’m just being honest here so that you can start rethinking your plans. Business analyst roles or Project management roles are not on the shortage list.

If you were alone, there may be some way around it (such as flat shares) that don’t really care much about referencing.
But with dependants, it’s a completely different ball game, as you are probably aiming for a full property.

1. You don’t require a credit history to rent. You require credibility.
2. You must proof to a potential landlord that you have the funds to afford the rent.

3. Your best (and easiest bet) right now is to get a guarantor. Someone who will guarantee that you pay all rents as at when due.
The downside of this is that the guarantor will be required to show his/her financial ‘muscle’ and may sometimes involve a credit check (and many folks don’t like having hard credit checks on their files).

4. If you don’t have a guarantor, your next best (worst actually) bet may be to pay rent upfront for the duration of your tenancy contract.

5. You might get lucky (very rare) and connect to a landlord directly who will understand your plight. But this is very rare.

Like you have rightly mentioned, if you’re approaching the high street letting agencies for a rent, they will definatly carry out a credit check on you.
Without cash payment for the full year rent, your credit score is the only other indicator that you will keep up with your payments.

The guarantor in many cases is a character guarantor and NOT a financial guarantor should you default in payment.

My advice is to look for studio flats from private landlords because it will be rare to find someone put up a whole house for rent without using letting agencies. Though I have seen a few in Sheffield like that where someone rents the whole house from the landlord and then starts subletting to other Nigerian students. This was years ago, I doubt if stuffs like that still happen.

I'm looking towards getting a one bed or two bed house.

Check this link, register first with gumtree then contact the landlord of any house you like to arrange viewing.

https://www.gumtree.com/search?search_category=property-to-rent&search_location=bristol&q=house&seller_type=private

Please be very careful because there are scammers in guntree, so don't pay deposit for a house without viewing and signing tenancy agreement

For those that have had previous refusals (uk/other countries), did y’all upload your refusal letters on the day of submission along with your other documents?
Even though you already stated it in the online application
Must you submit the refusal letters too?

Gurus in the house, i have two questions
1) my wife secured an admission to the UK, i hope myself and the 2 kids can go with her as dependents?
2) i was denied visiting visa to the UK in July last year, i hope this will not be a hindrance for me ?

i will appreciate responses to this. God bless......

At the risk of sounding like a broken record now, I will advice you to be very careful when filling the visa application form. The reason is that you have a refusal under the visitor category and your wife is now applying for a visa in the PBS where you will be automatically issued a dependant visa if she gets her visa and you’re able to prove yourself relationship. The burden of proof rest on you to convince the HO beyond reasonable doubt that she’s a genuine student. It may even be easier for the person who was rejected on the visiting visa to be the main applicant for the student visa, but hey, I don’t know your personal situation or circumstance. Good luck.

1. If you and your wife can afford it..check the financial requirement for dependant visa

2. Not really..as long as the refusal has nothing to do with fraudulent activity and you declare the refusal when asked in the form..etc

Which airline did you use
How many years is your course?

And that's all.

Well, I was talking about job prospects after the program and not before. So, I'm well aware of the 20hr/week constraint.

Also, I beg to differ as the IT Business Analyst role is part of the shortage list. You can check the code 2135 on the list.

I doubt if there is any business analyst role that is hard to fill. BA and PM are everywhere.....

who's abusing rules, I am not even asking for myself, I'm trying to clarify things incase if they actually verify balance so people will be aware and act accordingly.

That makes no sense, nobody needs to know or worry about that unless you are planning to abuse the rule.

This argument will not happen here because the whole idea is to find a way of abusing the immigration rule.
