Midfielders are set up to play differently from team to team. So you cannot compare the attacking function KDB has to what McTominay or Fred has. Just as we couldnt with Scholes and Lampard

1. 4-2-3-1 example given using Arsenal, the two CMs or two DMs or DM/CM will have limited attacking function. The creation will be left primarily for the three behind the striker.

2. In 4-3-3 one or two of the three midfielders is given a strong attacking role. So one acts as a DM, second as a CM third as an attacking midfielder which KDB does for City. In the supposed Barca formation, Rafina should have all ticket for attacking play. Somwtimes where a team has a strong DM like Fernadinho, the other two can be attacking midfielders with a duty to drop slightly to help the midfield.

3. Pogba doesnt care if he is in a two man midfield, he is always going to attack and leaving a huge burden to his fellow CM or the DM. Since he is not clinical, the small teams just block and explore the huge space behind for a counter. Pogba should be used in a 3 man midfield. Lingard and Pereirra drop to the bench.

Ya, since Shaw cannot be depended on, only Williams is for the LB so i think we need another LB while Shaw is sold.

A CM currently is more important though.

Young has been a very good servant to the club. I don't begrudge him wanting to leave because the club has been messing him around about renewing his contract. Now Inter came and the club were then scrambling to offer him a new deal. I only wish it wasn't done mid season like this. He's still been a better option than Shaw.

I actually support his sale, now, tomorrow or forever, the season is gone na. Anybody in the club that was thinking of renewing his contract must be very mad.

Dear ligt was captain at Ajax at 19. Gerrard at 23. So it's nothing new.
