Recently there have been notifications to the exchange on insiders buying into the company(Ucap and now Seplat) but the quantity puchased are so small in comparison to the outstanding shares....... Also when I look at salaries of the Insiders in question I have to conclude that, the buying was not for investment purposes............................So what could be their Reasons for buying and why notify the exchange at this period |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by OakPearl(m): 3:40pm On Jan 17, 2020 |
maishai: 1. Their reason for buying could certainly be to take position with their "tasere" units before the closed period is announced, during which they are not permited by law to trade. 2. They must notify the exchange about transactions they execute in line with the stipulations of the NSE rule books because directors are mandated to make disclosures as their transactions are classified as "insider trades" by virtue of their position/status. 1 Like |

maishai:They know their game plan, that's why they are pumping it to dump on uninformed investors who never want to book their profit. Not only him, others might be selling secretly. They are making money available to enter back at very low price. Access final year result will likely not look good, when everything about Diamond bank will be accommodated including their outstanding share. 2 Likes |

rebekah2011:Sometimes its a trick. Companies that will released good result most at time never show any sign, their stock always moved southward, but once their result is release, come and see massive bull, Dangote flour come to mind some few years back when they return back to profit. While some stock that will release bad result stays at forefront of bull, but once their result is release, come and see bear in action. Apart from entering good dividend stocks that have good q1,2, and 3 result, then in other companies, if you have not entered during bonanza period, it is will do you good to stay by the side and watch the stock that will perform wonderfully in their final year result and jump in to ride on their bull visit. 2 Likes |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Chibuking81(m): 4:34pm On Jan 16 One of the strategy during this season is to always monitor corporate disclosure especially in the month of February/March to know the company that performed above expectations and jump in for capital appreciation. Some unexpected companies that outperformed usually have lower price before the release of their result as a result of investors and traders lack of interest toward them. But once they release their wonderful result which will always seen through their eps, if possible with good dividend as when compare with other companies, as Cham PLC did last year. In such stock one can easily ride on 50% gain within a short period. But know when to bail out, to book your profit, if the stock does not fall within the standard of your dividend holding stock as an investor. (This is the only strategy members have to adopt for members to make good money in this market) 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Willie2015: Not for all stocks.stocks trading 100+ per share and declined due to negative statement of results will never go down fastly if fundamentals improve unless the fundamentals continues to dwind... While some trading on mere sentiments will fastly go up and later come back to car park. Investors like pa Ewumi detects the first one immediately they begin to loose value. He grabs with two hands. Traders always like the second. They so much love stocks that go up and down.It is also in the nature of some stocks though good in financials.....trading Up and down.Traders detects such stocks and use them regularly. Uancn and wapco falls in the first category while stocks like fcmb, fidelity etc falls in the second. 2 Likes |

Hello everyone, sometime last year, I made a statement about the possibility of using VWAP outside the intra - day purview. A few of the more "cerebral" members of this thread refuted my assertions and strongly so, saying that I know nothing about what I am doing. Another member argued strongly that since I determine where to start and end my analysis, the results can be questioned. I have often said that "time tells the whole story". Today, I present to you Brian Shannon CMT, he created something called "anchored VWAP" which is in a way similar to what I told y'all last year about the usage of VWAP. Interestingly, the indicator is available for use on TC2000. Maybe a few of you will like to tell Brian how useless his creation is but mind you . . . he is a Chartered Market Technician (CMT). All the best guys!
