Daniboygeorge22: It's an Altima. Buy it if you like it. If you maintain it you shouldn't have major issues. 1 Like |

Anybody here? Please I need advice.my Infiniti g35x 2008 is having steering rack leak.its severe I have to top up fluid any time am driving. Can it be fixed.or can only be replaced |
Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by aieromon(m): 4:23pm On Jan 21, 2020 |
kasshoggi: I assume you're referring to power steering oil. You can get PSF or any Dexron III ATF in ShopRite or Total filling stations. You can also checkout https://myparts.com.ng/ if you're based in Lagos. |

IghKes: Replacement of the steering rack is the most cost effective solution. |
Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by radautoworks: 6:46pm On Jan 21, 2020 |
IghKes: Depends on where it's leaking from. There is power steering stop leak you can try first. https://www.instagram.com/p/B3WzPobJsOq/?igshid=ummhljzdwfeo http://weblink.carquest.com/acl/?mfgName=BAR&partNumber=1630 N3,499 http://weblink.carquest.com/acl/?mfgName=PRS&partNumber=AS263Y N4,396 1 Like |

[quote author=radautoworks post=85994324] Depends on where it's leaking from. There is power steering stop leak you can try first. It's the steering rack that's leaking according to my mechanic.from what I saw under d rack .the fluid accumulates at the rubber covering the rack.and leaks wen u pack.from both the drivers and passenger side. What do u think.will this fluid stop the leak.is it a pamanent solution or a temporary one. How much is it. |

People of God I love Nissans, grew up with dad owning the 2 door & 4 door Patrol. I love the look of the Maxima & Altima, but Car Wizard, oyinbo mechanic on YouTube, says run, because of CVT. So, do 04-06 Maximas run on CVT? Can't afford Toks yet, what should I look out for in used? Thanks! |

Hello bosses, My 2011 Nissan Altima throws the following codes: P0443 P0138 P0037 P2138 P0420 I did some research online, and I found out that some of the codes are complimentary. But I feel, getting your experienced suggestions will be great before taking it to the mechanic. The car runs and drives great, btw Thanks you. |

Costee:Happy Sunday, chief. I erased the error codes after replacing the gas cap, oxygen sensor, purge valve sensor, and throttle position sensor w/ pedal. However, the SES light came back on with the same set of codes . Local man is frustrated. cc: radautoworks; gazzuzz |

Heykayxx: P0443 how i would diagnose it. Diagnose the existing part. First i would use a multimeter to confirm continuity, next i would use a 12v battery to confirm actuation, finally i would blow test with my mouth to confirm the valve is open when voltage is applied and closed when there is no voltage. Diagnosis of the system. I would use a scanner to actuate the evap purge solenoid to test for same functions as when it was connected to a battery. The EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve is moved by ON/OFF pulses from the ECM. P0138 : I would connect my scanner to the car and examine the live readings. P0138 is a common OBDII code, the code is triggered when the voltage at the sensor remains above threshold for 20 seconds or more or when voltage to the sensor is to high. You are looking at a possible faulty oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2 (hope you replaced the right one) downstream. You are looking at a possible wiring issue. You are looking at a possible faulty engine ECU. P0037: The code means that there is a problem with the heater element circuit of the heated oxygen sensor. How i would diagnose. I would start by using a multimeter to check for resistance around the heater connectors when the sensor is disconnected, usually between 2-5ohms, as the word "heater" it is a heating element within the O2 sensor and would require a great deal of current to operate. I would check the connectors for corrosion, I would check for any burnt fuses and replace. Very importantly i would check that the wiring of the connector from the harness to the O2 sensor was in the right order, in the past I have seen connectors that pulled out and were installed wrongly on both the harness side and the O2 sensor side. For this you would need to download pics of the part and examine. Next phase testing for voltage to the heater element from the engine ECU. On the heater line from the engine ECU, install a multimeter, set to test for D.C voltage, start the car, there should be a short burst of 12v for about 3-5 seconds as a series of short pulses, with that you are sure the engine ECU is still providing voltage to the heater element. P2138: These sensors are a kind of potentiometers which transform the accelerator pedal position into output voltage, and emit the voltage signal to the ECM. When defective they fall out of range BUT not because the device is defective, but because the resistance readings are out of range when at rest position. Place scanner on live readings and check for the opening and closing angles when depressed fully and when at rest. Refer to this thread and check your pedal again. https://www.nairaland.com/4880683/mature-cockroach-120km-hr P0420: You have no catalyst, it's really not an issue, just install a spacer on the downstream O2 sensor. Hope this helps. TGIS 5 Likes |

Heykayxx:P0138, P0037, and P0420 are some of the more common nuisances you find on most cars hereabouts, and which your mechs and techs would easily find answers to. If you really had an issue with P2138 your car would have been undrivable. Its presence is, therefore, a response that you don't have an ideal condition. This seems related to P0443. But even this might be innocent. So my advice, for now, is to check the pressure sensor on the evap canister, especially if water is present in its connectors. Changing this sensor could resolve the two codes. I want to believe that all your wiring connections are still intact.

Is Altima 2005 4cylinder a good car? What are the pros n cun n how easy is d maintenance |
Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by freeman500: 12:32am On Feb 08, 2020 |
Charlieluvboy:From my little experience from 98 altima I will suggest you unplug the air flow meter socket and start the car, if it starts then u know it's the metres fault. If it's rough idling the culprit is the intake manifold you will need to put new gasket. |

Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by Nobody: 8:06am On Feb 14, 2020 |
judemurphy:Lol. That portion of your cluster that responds immediately the engine is running. Check when your temperature gauge reaches the mid point. I assure you your car is not a 2008. |
