With this and your visit to the dermatologist, I think you need to start doing

1..Change your soap to maybe ose dudu or any thing natural. Don't go herbal because most of these stuffs have been mixed with all sorts. Use ori (shea butter) or olive oil as your cream. You can mix alovera which is homemade. You can do that.

2..Check your diet. If you're the type that takes groundnut alot, remove it from your diet. Check something you are so much addicted to, and stop for a while.

3..Visit another hospital preferable a general hospital. Try as much as possible to see an old dermatologist with years of experience. Such Doctor would have witnessed something similar.

4...Since you said it's over three years and if at the end of this year, you try all I suggested or what you deem fit, and no changes, it would be advisable you go herbal. It may be inside the blood stream that needs cleansing.

While doing all these, you can do thorough research online. I know you would have done that. You can as well go further making use of online dermatologist on social media platforms like LinkedIn.

Such happened to my younger sister many years ago, it was all over her face. A light skin lady just went dark with no form of illness or symptoms of any sort. It didn't take up to 6months when treatment started that she passed on. Yours differs in many ways but don't handle with kid gloves either.

All the best bro..!!!

Thanks!!!!!!

Our attitude to just throw anything at a problem without really understanding the cause can be really nauseating.

See them:
KRDCROWN:
Eat more fresh fruit and vegetables
Longman180:
Mix orii and skinee,it will clear away
ekwerendi:
Use tetmosol.....it will give you a clear skin
Lloydokeke:
Buy and use fulcin

Sorry to break it to you dearies but some of the differential diagnosis for dark patches could be fatal. Especially when it could be a melanoma.
So don't just go throwing things at patches without knowing what they really are. Because it worked for Nnamdi doesn't mean it will work for Femi or Zuwaira.

As for you OP, I can't really say what you have but if you have had a few as a child and now it's increasing. Then we can consider neurofibromatosis (cafe-au-lait patches ).
It is least likely to be a Mongolian spot (birthmark) because you will have had the same spot since childhood.
See another dermatologist for second opinion and discard advices like the ones quoted.
If after all investigations it is found to be nothing, your dermatologist may want to consider laser therapy as a last resort. That is if you really want the spot out. You may want to consider of course trying this sort of therapy on a little spot and see the outcome.
Please see a dermatologist again OP.

Haha... Syphilis since 2017 and I'm still this way. This patches doesn't itch or scratch. Asides the skin deformation, it does nothing else.

I don't know how you came about your "u no dey calm down"

Ette. You might have had the syphilis, way long before 2017, the dark spots start appearing when the 3rd stage of syphilis kicks in. And you mention of the fact that the spots don't scratch or itch. Guess what? That's exactly the symptom of late stage latent or neurosyphillis. The spots don't itch, even when the first sore comes out in the early stages of syphilis infection, the sore is usually painless and doesn't itch, making you likely to ignore it. The dark spots are actually a symptom of late stage and dreadfully fatal syphilis.
Why not stop doing typical Nigerian "Nothing dey happen!" and go do the test, seminal culture, not VDRL and be sure. Dermatologists don't detect STDs

Test for if you are not susceptible to diabetics. Ur sugar level - fasting and 30mins after food. If test is negative, then eat more fruits and more water before food to purify ur blood stream...

Ok.

I think the issue here is something we call melasma. But before I go on..is it pure black or dark greenish patch?
Re: Dark Patches On My Skin. Dermatologists, Please Help. by saeedbc(m): 12:11pm On Jan 19, 2020
It could be an adverse drug reaction. Your body might be allergic to a certain drug or spices that you take. Like septrin, aspirin, etc. I once had some dark patches on my skin too which some doctors prescribed different creams for me that did not work. Until I finally met a very good dermatologist who explained things to me. It was Sulphur that I am allergic to that was found in some anti malaria drugs and septrin I took . He advised me to stay away from them and even coke!
Just try another dermatologist.

Black.
Ok.

Like I said, that black patch is melasma Caused by excess production of melanin ( homorne responsible for pigment of the skin) coupled with dead skin cells that have piled up over the years.
Now the products you're using doesn't exforliate (get rid) of dead skin, that is why you have that dark patch and dull skin.

You need an exfoliatng soap and cream. Then a special treatment cream to help inhibit melanin production on that part of your body.

We could help you compound these products or teach you how to make it yourself just in case you're not within the same location. To cut cost.

Dermatologists and the experienced ones in the house please your help is needed.

I've been battling with this strange thing for upto 3years now.

It all started in 2017. I could see some dark patches on my body which looks as though they are under my skin.

I HAVE VISITED THE STATE SPECIALIST HOSPITAL to see a Dermatologist. I was told to do several tests which I did. After submitting the whole results, the doctor said nothing was wrong but it's just a skin allergy. She recommended a cream and since then I have been using it. It's more than a year now but no changes.

It's seen on my laps down to the feet.

Has anyone experienced this before ? I'd appreciate possible solutions to this please as it's making my skin look annoying.

@melasma usually occurs on the face of pregnant women or those who are taking contraceptives. It is not widespread like this.

If it was reaction to sulphunamides like someone else suggested, that one either presents as isolated large circumscribed rashes or full blown steven-johnson's syndrome. So it's not that either.

I would have gone with the syphilitic rashes if u had said it is also on the palm of your hands. You didn't snap your palms for us to see so we can't know.

Another idea could be seborrhoeic dermatitis. But it appears like a follicular lesion.

The best thing to do would be to get a second opinion from another dermatologist.
