The Yoruba have done fantastically well on this one. When people say they are sophisticated, this is surely one proof. And frankly I'm very impressed.

Now , beyond the talk, They must be encouraged to walk the walk. For many reasons not least of which is the impact on the entire sociopolitical texture of the country.

My Igbo folks, the south south, the middle belt, all must lend their voice in support of this very Noble move. This is not the time for politics of bitterness and reciting ancient history... No. What the Yoruba have done is effectively to sow the first seeds of regionalism and restructuring, and we all stand to benefit if it goes well. We also sink under fulani control if we allow the north to force a retreat if the amotekun idea.

To this end we must all be wary of the Greek gifts of the hegemonists. Any political favours to the south east at this time must be viewed with suspicion. Please and please, no one should play into their hands . Igbo governors must be particularly wary. Igbo presidency must be rejected if it is offered on the alter of betraying southern freedom.

Enough is enough. Let's all get this right. History is being made.

Would the Yorubas have supported the SE if this was a Southestern creation ?
Wouldn't they have tagged it another terrorist organization created to spite Buhari and Apc?

Very funny that some folks think I'm Yoruba.
Lazy youths that can't even do a simple background check.

I stand by what I have written.

To resist fulani expansionism requires a United south. Period. Call me whatever you want.

Why didn't you call Nnamdi kanu a Yoruba man for saying exactly what I have said?

I support amotekun.

Igbos have nothing to gain in hoping for the failure of amotekun.

Nothing do you. grin

Now the Southwest is just realising Nigeria as currently constituted is a flawed country designed so the northern elites can lord over everyone else. Something the Igbo's realised since 1966 and I'm not even Igbo.

Well I would like to welcome Yoruba's to enlightenment and also say to them that a lot of injustice has been perpetrated to the people of the SE/SS for years since independence and they all watched and did nothing as we were constantly told we didn't matter even though 80% of Nigeria's revenue comes from that region.

However, it is better late than never. Amotekun is here to stay and I feel that doing things in unison regionally is the only way Nigeria can be secure and make real progress because even though we are called a country we are not the same people, we don't have the same culture and beliefs and we can't grow without UNITY - which we don't have. Amotekun is helping a region stay united and peaceful and it is going to be a success.

I know they probably wouldn't support any such Igbo initiative. But... Hey, be the better man here. Regionalism is better for us and this amotekun might just tilt the scales.

i don't have any reason to lie to you cos i don't care if i make you happy or not.

Yorubas supported labeling ipob a terrorist organization even when we all know they've never bored any arms or harmed any bird.

Now the table is turned they need the support of the rest of the south ? No way.

Amotekun is illegal and a terrorist organization too.

one good move ?
You've already shown prejudice by putting the word "good".
"Good" is subjective. What is good for me may not be good for you and visa versa.

Eg.. self determination is good for me and you called me a terrorist, and Amotekun is good for you and i thought its illegal and terrorism too

Nigeria is a jungle, there are lots of holes in a jungle. let the rest of the south tie a rope around one western toe and allow them run amok till they reach the big hole. What’s wrong with allowing the yorubas fall into a hole after then?

We will always pull them out with the rope and dress their wounds, But they need to learn the lesson in front of all of us first before they commit fully to the reality of our situation in Nigeria or else they will go back to their old shit and eat it up in front of all of us

The truth is DAT Igbo's will never join any oppressive forces against any region in Nigeria, but sticking out the neck?....

But we can cheer/condemn from a very far / safe distance

Don't get it wrong. We Yorubas do not need your support. We just need you too to stand up for your rights and secure your own land too because the herdsmen that we will be chasing away from Yoruba land will soon be moving towards that your small land to take over your land.

So, you better rise up now and secure your land. We have taken the first step to secure our land, we advise you to take your destiny into your own hands.

This hatred and bitterness that your parents planted in you is the reason why you are sad and depressed.

The Yorubas will never ever ask or count in your support. We created AMOTEKUN in order to encourage you chest beaters to create your own security outfit to safeguard your small chikini Biafra land that is less than the size of Niger State alone. So that Hausa/Fulani will stop killing and raping your women. But, it's obvious you people are still very scared to face the herdsmen once and for all.

Your support of AMOTEKUN is not a support for Yorubas BUT a support for your own freedom.

iPob was not supported by elected representatives of the SE very unlike Amotekun. Amotekun is not a secessionist movement, it's just elected leaders that want to protect their citizens and a solid crack at regionalism

Igbos are just too sentimental. The OP is right
