Also, not to be unnecessarily pedantic but the correct grammar is ‘I took/sat for my exams in December.’ I’ve noticed Indians typically use ‘gave’ but that doesn’t make it correct. For example, a sentence may read correctly as: “ the ETS/ a professor/ a teacher/an exam body gives or writes (American context) exams for candidates/students/pupils to take/sit for or write (British/Nigerian context).”

I have been seeing AFFORDABLE TESTS advert here and also read certain people on this platform recommend him.

On October 31, 2019, I contacted AFFORDABLE TESTS to register me for Toefl ETS. He proceeded to register me and I made payment for service rendered by Bank transfer into the Bank account forwarded to me. I asked for confirmation of payment which he did. I wrote this test November 23, 2019. Fast forward, January 10, 2020, I logged into my account to send my score to a school I applied to and I got a rude shock - Outstanding Balance of $215.00. I clicked on view details and saw reason - Charge Back Fee on order done October 31, 2019.

I contacted AFFORDABLE TESTS, he said he was going to contact ETS. He also claimed he sent a mail to ETS. He also said ETS will look into it and get back to him in 7 working days.

On January 18, 2020, eight days later, I sent him a message via whatsapp asking for an update. He ignored my messages and failed to respond. Two days later, I sent another message via whatsapp and on this forum asking him to respond to my message.
He now responded telling me' He got no refund from ETS ' ( I wonder what that means). He also claimed that reason for Charge back Fee was best known to ETS.
I started investigation on this issue, made enquires from ETS and found out that Charge Back fee are usually sent to an account, where tests are registered with insufficient balance. ETS allows this knowing that they will block you from viewing or making any transaction on the account until you pay your 'gbese'

I confronted him with this information, he got hostile and claimed ignorance, saying the issue is general on Nairaland. Meanwhile all issues of charge back fee right now are on tests AFFORDABLE TESTS registered.

I have appealed to him to settle this financial issue with ETS and he replies saying he is done talking about this issue and I shouldn't threaten him.

I PLEAD ON WELL MEANING AND HONEST NAIRALANDERS ON THIS FORUM TO ASK AFFORDABLE TESTS TO SETTLE THIS ISSUE.

You can cheat some people sometimes but you can't cheat all the people all the time.

There is none of such in Akwa Ibom. I don't know about Rivers state. The best option is registering to write the SAT through ETS while you hire a good tutor to prepare you for the exam.

Remember, thou shall register with the organisation responsible for the tests

I think people should stop patronizing them, simple. Some times we are lazy to do things by ourselves. Everything about this journey requires some amount of sacrifice. Getting involved and knowing how things are done is an advantage than just giving someone money to do everything for you. ETS made it in a way that you can even register the exam by yourself. All you need to do is get a Master card or any other type of card that can allow you make the online payment. Again, some Exam centers do registration too. So you can go to your intended center and pay them to register you. By that you can be sure you are dealing with a genuine body. Finally, it baffles me when I see their adverts for these exams at unimaginable cheap prices. The official price by ETS is about $195 USD for TOEFL, which is about N70,200 (@360). But they will place advert for TOEFL at 45K and you see people asking to be registered. Even if you trade the 45K for as low as N300 per dollar, it's still not enough.
Who do you think would pay the deficit?? And that is why you see those money in your Ets account!
Of course ETS is an international body that you can't get away with anyhow.

I totally get your point. However, you should know that the deals that makes it this juicy is legit. I think some bodies have access to coupons that enable discounts to be possible. I have taken two GREs and two TOEFLs in my lifetime and for the first registrations were done at a subsidized rate by a popular registration outfit (I cant call their names because it triggers antibot).

My point is that it is not illegal. Some unscrupulous elements have decided to hijack the process and it is sad. My advise to future test takers: we have one or two reputable organizations that run same deal. Go with them even though the prices are higher than norm.

He is a correct 419......I doubt if Affordable tests is in the US like he claimed. He is here in Nigeria scamming people up and down. He scammed me, insulted me and blocked me. Please stay away from him!!!!!!

This one almost scammed me until I searched online and discovered the actual B2consulting have different contact details. I contacted the real B2consulting at the stated address and they denied knowing the person operating this nairaland account and informed me that they have no affiliation to him.

Unfortunately, I have given this guy my details and he has started pestering me to transfer the fee to him. He quickly changed my TOEFL account password, trying to use that to tie me to him. I simply changed it back and instantly blocked his WhatsApp and number from calling me.

it is crazy out here, it is safer to just go with reputable third-party vendors and not minding the little extra pay.

God will judge evildoers ripping people off their money.
