Perhaps you do not know, Dedetwo. I'm referencing an exchange that occurred between WIC and NNAUSA some years back and the sentiment across the NNAUSA chapters.

How many people or ethnic groups are sincerely taking about separation? The Yoruba's, Hausa's and Niger Delta have always use the threats of separation to seize power in the centre.

In 1966 the north threaten separation to seize power from Ironsi, who was caught off guard. In 1993-1999 the SW used threats of separation and June 12 to curry northern sympathy to seize power. In 2003-2015 the Ijaws understood the game, and rallied their militants to blow up oil facilities and threaten to declare the Niger-Delta republic to be gifted the VP slot by Obansanjo as well as the Presidency after the death of Ya'radua.

The Igbo statesmen such as late Senator Chukwumerije saw the greenlight and in one of his speech in Ohaneze Ndigbo, suggested that the SE incorporate MASSOB and IPOB into achieving their aims. But he was wrong, because MASSOB had a soul of it's own having been founded by outsiders to counter nothern sharia disturbances. The likes of OPC, NDPVF etc were whipped to do this same task. The PDP have always hijacked it for their own political interest. Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB became answerable to their paymasters and not to Ndigbo. This why you see them coining words like the SE/SS, old eastern region, the better south, southern Nigeria, SE/SS/MB etc and never Igbo interest.

They don't talk about Igbo presidency, they don't talk about 6th SE state, or galvanising our people to vote, it always the opposite. Always wanting Ndigbo to stand from the position of weakness.
Do not be deceived, IPOB was formed to counter Buhari's APC, because this is what their paymasters want them to do. Even if it means joining any protest in the form of Amotekun, they will always be willing tools. But many of you are daft to understand this. Nnamdi Kanu and his sponsors don't care about Igbo interest or Igbo lives. The PDP doesn't have the interest of the Igbo at heart unlike Buhari before he became paranoid with Ndigbo for not standing with him, despite picking Igbo vice two times.

Many of us have seen the picture clearer and are wiser. Nigeria is not dividing soon, not in 50 years time. Unless the foreign powers decide to use us as a battle field to boost their dwindling economy. Either to steal our oil or sell their weaponry. That is only when a free for all conflict will trigger separation.

I do not like an Igbo person talk about Igbo presidency. Does this translate into Nigerian presidency. I had rather have 6th Igbo state in the geo-political zone than the talk of Nigerian presidency. An Igbo person as president of the shithole called Nigeria will not attract significant improvement in the areas of economy, education and infrastructure. I do not care what any other section thinks about Nigeria but Ndigbo's wiliness to actualize independent home land.

So please sir stop disgracing Ngwa people on this forum, we didn't appoint you to be the speaker for Ngwa people...

Some igbo people have serious inferiority complex and the only way they can feel better about their people or group is to turn against their own.

You people are really so imprisoned by your own knee-jerk "Igbo bụ otu" mentality that you have failed to grow in your understanding; even after these past ten years. Ọ ma gele gele.

Let me try to explain it as simply as I can, even though I'm certain you obviously DO NOT want to understand it.

I do not claim that Ngwa isn't Igbo. IF YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME, then you should also know that I see Ngwa as an Igbo ethnolinguistic group. So, Ngwa is an Igbo group. That does not, however, obligate me to carry "Igbo" as a label of self-identity, especially since Ngwa self-identity predates it. So I do not. Likewise, I do not view Ngwa as a subgroup, but rather a distinct ethnic consciousness in its own right. In other words, I will never hyphenate it as "Ngwa-Igbo". To that end, my self-identity is simply Ngwa.

Now, I'm certain that imprisoned minds such as yourselves will still find a way to argue with me, even after I just explicitly stated that Ngwa is an Igbo group. I guess that is to be expected, since you people have yet to grow out of your "Igbo Unity" paranoia.

This is the last time I will explain myself to you all after these past ten years. Learn it today, if you failed to learn it after a decade plus. So next time you feel the burning, childish need to argue with me, simply stop and tell yourself "wait, he said Ngwa is an Igbo group, so let me not break my head and look stupid". It will save you and I unnecessary, idiotic, paranoia-induced headaches.

Paranoid individuals; the lot of you.

My Orlu people too have lost hope in the MASSOB/IPOB styled Biafra. Those who think a referendum will do the opposite will be shocked down to the bone marrow. So the idea of Biafra to ginger Igbo unity is dead on arrival. Igbo unity is not a Siamese twin to the actualization of Biafra. The fight for Biafra balkanized us in 1970 because of how it was handled, and no true Igbo will pray for that to happen again, especially as it is being led by nincompoops.
Only an Igbo only country can assuage our fears. But while we remain in Nigeria, we must continue to uphold Igbo interest and guard it jealously.

What IPOB needs to do is become and internal and external pressure group with splinter issues for all Igbo politicians to answer to that will show whether or not they will represent the Igbo collective.

In America, Black Americans make politicians promise reparations for slavery before they can get their vote.

IPOB needs to bring forth issues that Igbo can rally around. Like if Igbo agree on a 6th state and it's location, that will be the new Igbo issue that all Igbo politicians will speak on how they will bring that about. Next will be a port, or railways. Basically Igbo should become singular issue voters based on specific tangibles.

Once these items are identified and Igbo force politicians who seek Igbo support to lay their plans out, Igbo then monitor those politicians and remove them if they waiver.

This is how you create an Igbo Agenda based on Igbo empowerment. Currently, Igbo have no clear agenda.

IPOB is anti Igbo.
They hate hearing about Igbo Unity agenda.

IPOB is more interested in licking the faeces off the colons of minority groups in SS and NC all in deluded attempt at creating their phantom Heterogeneous Biafra

All you listed can only achieved by a new group whose sole interest is Pan Igbo agenda.

Despite the flaws of IPOB, there are numerous important contributions of IPOB to the Igbo nation.

Allowing Amotekun to scale through will never give you constitutional review. Do you think you are dealing with dafts or illiterates? Do you think they are not aware that Amotekun is purely illegal which was why their first statement on the day of launching was "we don't want Nigeria to divide"

If you are a good student of history time has come that not what anybody brings on you will rush to support. First sit and check the pros and cons.

There is no place regional force is guaranteed in our constitution and since yorubas needs that due to pressing insecurities let their senators and reps come forward and we all push for constitutional amendment. Total overhaul of the constitution.

But of course, they will dodge it and try to twist why trying to use the media to make it seems legal.

Amotekun won't benefit you but will only by review.

Perhaps you misunderstand me. I am not of the belief that constitutional review will result from this. In short, constitutional review is not my concern. I don't even believe it to be the next logical step. My only statement is that it can invite constitutional review. However, it does not need constitutional review to be legal. It simply needs to pass through court at best; that's if it manages to get to court. A legal interpretation by the judicial branch is all that is needed to get the job done. That is the point of my statement. This country has a judicial branch for a reason, whose sole purpose is to interpret the constitution and other laws as of the date they are in court to see where a particular matter stands.

If FG truly has a case and if the SW truly will not back down, the only way for FG to legitimize its case is to set the precedent in court. Either way, both sides need the court to further legitimize this and that is where the true battle for legality will take place. If the SW states in question can successfully take this through court and win, then the precedent is set.

This is something that the SE would NEVER be able to achieve on its own because of the post-war stigma that persists up to this day. However, this is an initiative that NONE OF US can deny as a necessity, even within SE states.

Osagyefo98:
Amotekun is not real. If they are real and sincere they know what to do and get their regional force.

You're dealing with people that always try to play smart.

Everybody is having same insecurity and what we need is a permanent not a stylish temporary solutions

I don't understand how this cannot be real to you. We are here discussing it. FG is discussing it and shaking. The country is discussing it. It is being discussed internationally. SW governors have stated that they have no intention of backing down, and the operation is ongoing. It is occurring in real-time. This is as real as it gets. For decades now, Igbo people have been nostalgic and some even yearning for the return of the Bakassi Boys era. This is as close as it gets to piggybacking off something real. I would have imagined that Igbo would be inviting of such, but all we get is "they're scheming".

You talk of permanent solutions. My guy, destiny is not etched in stone. Nothing in this world is truly permanent, not even a constitution, so we all do what we can to get by and remain stable for as long as possible. To do that, we must take advantage of situations that come our way. I expected such mindset from Igbo people; take advantage of the situation. It's baffling. As it is right now, the Yoruba are essentially doing the legwork for us all. Forget this idea of temporary or permanent. If the Yoruba are successful, then it means we will arrive at a real solution, and real is what matters.

Osagyefo98:
They are right to stand against it. For years the same constitution is what these same guys always use to stand against you in anything but when opportunity calls for review instead of taking it up you want to cut corners.

They don't want constitutional review because to them Osibanjo might be affected if they consider him for 2023 post.

Boris Johnson saw that he won't scale through with the number he has in parliament, called for an election and now has the number to achieve his aim.

Yorubas needs amotekun then let's all gun for constitutional review to guarantee everybody what they need. That's the permanent solutions

FG is traumatized by Biafra. FG is afraid of decentralization. That is the only reason they stand against it. It does not matter which group comes forward, we can all rest assured that FG will almost always and almost certainly stand against anything that represents or can trigger decentralization.

As for the bold, this is exactly why it has to be done this way. The SE has been talking about constitutional review and referendum for decades, but lack leverage for obvious reasons. Regardless of who is agitating, FG does not like the prospects of decentralization, and in this game, FG held all the cards.... until now.

I've seen some people say that the SW governors erred, and should have done this legally. I ask myself (and I guess, I ask them too hypothetically), "with what leverage?"

Telling SW governors to not pursue Amotekun and instead ask for review or get legal approval from FG is akin to telling someone who is hungry to go and ask for food from someone who you know does not want to share. It makes zero sense. Without Amotekun in place, the SW states have no leverage, and FG will continue to hold all the cards. In such a scenario, a request for constitutional review would undoubtedly fall on deaf ears.

I laugh when people say approach the court for legal interpretation. The last time I checked the court will only interpret what is inside the constitution and not the one not contained in ot.

The same notorious court of federal republic of Nigeria we know their tendencies and how they operate.

The same court headed by CJN Tanko that will tell that what Technicality means in court A is not what same Technicality means in court B.

In cases like this the FG will be happy going to court with you and frustrate and still manipulate it.

Then why not frustrate the same FG and negotiate something strong. If Yorubas seriously need to combat insecurities let them rally the 3 ie NC, SS, SE zones currently calling for constitutional review and overhaul. This act will bend the FG a little but for Court, forget it.

Give them Amotekun, same people will still go about and work to frustrate tour own. Be wise.

Review before Amotekun otherwise disband it.

Amotekun is not real but mischievous.

So you want to form a security network that Federal Government will wake up one morning and order the army, police, airforce to disband and arrest anybody in such outfit...Think.

Can the military move to say police , nscdec, road safety , should be disbanded. All these agencies where captured by law making them solid and fame and as such can only be challenged by acts of national assembly who may repeal how they will function further and news rules.

Osagyefo98, lol, enyi, why will efforts not be frustrated in a overly-centralized government? That should be something we would expect. In turn, it means we should understand the futility of going through 100% conventionally legal means to achieve something. And again, I reiterate, in such a case, we continue to retain no leverage against FG. By your argument, right now, you should notice that communities/states stand a better chance with leverage than just by following the 100% conventionally legal means.

My guy, that is how courts all over the world work. Court rulings are wholly dependent upon the judges, their biases and their understanding/interpretation of the law and constitution. It is why the judicial process is layered with appeals and escalations to the next highest court. Should that be a deterrent?

At the end of the day, forgive me if I'm wrong, but it seems that all I am hearing from you is that: 1) You are simply suspicious (that's fine and understandable). 2) You want them to prove their honesty by following 100% conventionally legal means, even though you are aware that it means FG squashes the topic.

In other words, you want it to fail, and the chance we get at someone else doing the necessary work for us fails with them.
