I keep upsurping South Africa as an example because its the only country in Africa that formally went to war with the full might of the British Empire and subsequently embarrassed them, if you want to claim that you beat an opponent then said opponent should be at full strength not like the Asantes that faced a handful of British troops who never even formally declared war on them.

And no the British didn't wipe South Africa not even close the Boers lost an estimated 4000 kia and the British lost nearly 30 000 kia, so who wiped who exactly?? ..... So revered were South African generals that they served as Field Marshals during both ww1 and ww2.

And the British army definitely did not even have even near a million men in West Africa, in fact if you did your research the highest number of British troops ever deployed to Africa was 600 000 and that was during the second Boer war from 1899 to 1902
