The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, says traditional and religious leaders that are supposed to hold the nation’s political leaders to account are being cowed into silence. He spoke in Abuja yesterday at this year’s Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace Third Annual General Assembly and Peace Conference, with the theme: “Interreligious Dialogue: Strengthening the Culture of Peace, Justice and Reconciliation”.

He said: “Whoever that takes life whether Christian or Muslim is a criminal and should be treated as such. Everything I heard today is hegemonic. The traditional and religious leaders that are supposed to hold political leaders to account for the people are being muscled into silence.

If youre an emir and you talk too much, you get removed. If you’re an Imam or a Bishop, you need money for charity; but be ready to do business with the devil so that you can do charity.” The Sultan, represented by the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, stressed that there was no crisis between Christians and Muslims in Nigeria, saying ignorance had always been the cause of religious tension in the country.

The president of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Dr Samson Ayokunle, said he was not in good mood to speak because of the killing of a CAN chairman in Adamawa State, Rev. Lawan Andimi. “From December till now, we’ve continued to lose church leaders and others without any array of hope that it will stop,” he said.

Co-chairmen of the IDFP, Ishaq Kunle Sanni and Bishop Sunday Onuaha, said the event was to ensure a continuous dialogue for peace between Christians and Muslims in Nigeria. The Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama, stressed the need for dialogue and reconciliation. The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Most Rev Hassan Kukah said political actors had not shown the willingness to address nation’s challenges.

Me still wondering why Nobody, yes I mean nobody from North condemning Boko haram, Fulani herdsmen activities the way they supposed to.

How can FG be fighting blurry fights when there is no single news of arresting any of their sponsors .

May be majority of them are beneficiaries to unrest in some part of Northern states

The truth is that the core northern leaders and elites are the one cowing their regional & the nation by breeding terrorism or failing to condemn the activities of all the terrorists acting with utter impunity & deliberate failure of the Buhari regime to contain same.

Why is no core northern leader or elite condemning the so negotiation then rehabilitation of the so called repented & deradicalized BH terrorists? What the Bleep is that? Karma is a bitch.I am not deceived.

You spend billions of dollars to fight Boko Haram but when you capture them you spend money to treat and rehabilitate them and release them back to the battle field. Nigeria matter is the more you look less you see.
Why not when you capture this idiot's at least keep them in the custody until when war is over

By simply examining the situation in the country where fulani terrorist have never been prosecuted for genocide and slaughter of thousands of Nigerians even when caught red handed as was seen severally in the past and the so called rehabilitation of boko haram muslim terrorist (rewarded for slaughtering christians through jihad) will give you great deal of information that islamist like satan of sokoto is doing Taqiyya on Nigerians.
Taqiyya = Lies and Deception.
Never expect truth from these islamist. Muslims are commanded to lie to infidels and pretend they're for peace.
Never judge islamist by their words, judge them by their actions. Their actions will always expose them for who they really are - islamist terrorist.
They enjoy the genocide of Nigerian christians by fulani terrorist and boko haram muslims terrorist group.

What do they expect? How relevant have traditional rulers shown themselves to be? What, in their lifestyle commends them to be worthy of such consideration? The politicians know the traditional rulers are generally speaking not a selfless lot. With the exception of The Awujale of Ijebuland and a few others I may not know Nigerian traditional rulers have lost salt! Others gallivant about exhibiting wives, cars, fashion, libraries, swagger e.t.c. with nothing to show in terms of development of public infrastructure and commerce in their domain. They lost their voice long time back! A video is currently trending of Gov Wike of Rivers State talking to traditional rulers in a manner worse than you would talk to a 25 year old!
