In 2015 their was a agitation when president Nkuranziza declared he was going to run for a third reelection

Now a lot of Burundians are frowning at the bonuses awarded to Mr. Pierre Nkuranziza(a $530,000 golden parachute, housing and lifetime salary)

Burundi is rated the poorest country in the world but some of her citizens are not complaining because they believe President Nkuranziza is serving a country with the most problems.

It is quite clear from the lifetime pension and other cash incentives that Pierre Nkurunziza is preparing himself for life after retirement.

This is his last term in office. He has promised to leave office this year(2020). At least, I heard that news last year.

He is simply getting himself a secure retirement.
