The Nigerian-born player is an England youth international, who has been approached severally by the NFF to pledge his allegiance to his fatherland. However, Lookman is not the only Nigerian-born England youth player that filled for allegiance switch with FIFA, as two others players' documents, including that of Seyi Ojo are also with FIFA. The 22-year old Leipzig winger has made 31 appearances for various England youth teams and was part of that victorious English U-20 team that won the FIFA World Cup in 2017. Other Nigerians in that winning English U-20 team include Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori, and Seyi Ojo.

Abraham and Tomori have since shunned Nigeria to commit their international future to the Three Lions while Lookman and Ojo could not make it to England senior team and are now ready to play for Nigeria. Meanwhile, information from England has it that the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, is seriously working hard to convince Arsenal winger, Bukayo Saka to follow the footsteps of Lookman and Ojo and commit his international future to his fatherland. Pinnick was said to have contacted Saka's relations in England and the player is reported to be thinking of dumping England for Nigeria, any moment from now. |

robosky02:There are many worse things than getting England's rejects. England is currently very very good. These players are still young. If we cap them now, they may become phenomenal in the future. |

Ilovebigboobs: Your last line spoilt every bloody thing. I would never site on the bench on any team regardless of the pedigree or history of that team. That's the very height of mediocrity. I would pick a Bhutan over England as long as it will offer me playing time. And I mean regular playing time. My ego can't take the mere thought that anyone out there could be possibly better than me. So, if I can't unseat you by force in the squad, I will take a walk and go seek glory elsewhere rather than sit like a lame duck and accept the ignominy. Go and ask them in my local team. But I guess that's what works for you. We all have our quirks at the end of the day. So, respect. |

All ye bloody mercenaries... No real allegiance. If it's England that does it for you, then stick with them till the very end even if you get snubbed. Stop decamping like all 'em bomboklarts in that sphere. This national team football. Not club football. And FIFA should bloody scrap that asinine rule already. It's becoming way too bastardized. 1 Like |

It's a pity that Nigeria has abandoned her grassroots football development. We now depend on 'imported' footballers to represent our national team. What if the England did not give them qthe platform to development? |
