A long read on BIOMETRICS at VFS Global - Canada VAC, Lagos Biometrics is no longer business as usual Sometimes ago the biometrics capture is seen as a long-queue process where you have to arrive early, seat under the sun, and with the possibility of meeting someone you may know. Well, the story has changed not only for speed but also for the fact that IRCC currently takes pleasure in delighting applicants now than in recent past. Shortly after Medical Passed at around 1am midnight on the 22nd, I tried rescinding the initial booked appointment date that I had made earlier in the month with hope and believe that I will get Medical Passed on 23rd, but as I will later realize It came a day faster than my expectation..."chai this feeling is sweet o". Well, I wish I can predict my PPR date like this - This will mean a jackpot. Moving on, I quickly cancelled the bookings for 24th and tried making it the next day - The 23rd. However, VFS Lagos do not allow less than 24hours booking but this I only realized after cancelling the first appointment. Well, it was a Wednesday so I switfly re-schedule for the same 24th I had earlier picked - You can't run faster than your legs - since to everything there is a purpose, I guess the same fate as with my unbelievable experience at VFS Lagos. Swiftly came the 24th, I had taken a day off from work for it and this was to allow me visit VFS as well spend time with my family - we had a great time both at VFS as well as the outing. Thanks to the professionalism of support staff at the Canada Visa Application Center - VAC, damn! to the least they were awesome - swift and topnotch operation you may call it. Also, that of the one-stop cuisine at Ikoyi - we were given a unique treat - those Ice creams were out of this world. My both babies had had a fantastic time today , but above all we had gotten "Biometrics Completed" on our IRCC profile account and was already issued a Biometrics Number even before getting home from our adventure. What's more? on arrival at the Center, you'll be greeted with a throng of people soliciting for your patronage. The beauty in this is that they give a sense of believe that business opportunities are endless. Well, I subscribed to a parking space option just for the period of my stay. If you had expected this to be a confortable parking lot, unfortunately it wasn't rather, it is an open space but with an assurance of the seller's watch for security of your car - I paid a token - #500 precisely. Shortly after walking through the guarded gates and manned doors, we were aided all along by concise directive from the security men and into the main auditorium where the Biometrics activities are conducted. While in there, we were ushered to meet an Automated Ticket Machine operator who give out ticket based on your bookings - Be sure to go with your appointment letter as this is required at this point and afterward. This ticket will be called in synonymous to Airport flight departure calls, ensure you set your sight on the TV screens or listen for the number on your issued ticket as this will determine which Counter to go next after the form filling phase. The next step is form filling. Each person going for the Biometrics should request for 2 forms. This is well explained if only you can read through in details and between the lines on the form, but as a regular "naija kid", we don't read "terms and condition". So, I "sharperly" asked the people around for the parts to be filled, and I was accurately informed - A portion at the front with your address and at the back with your Name/Signature and Date. Ensure you go with a Pen as this caused us much delay. Also, aside the delay from the pen, I guess there are things to take away from the IELTS ordeal - Listening! Yes, you need maximum of it here. I realized most staff here kind of speak in low tone yet fast because you'll need them to repeat many times if you would need more than the ordinary assistance. The main change is that we spent less than 7mins! The is remarkable you'ld say - And, yes indeed it is. Having finished filling the form, our Ticket Number was called and we moved to Counter 4 - The Pre-submission Counter, as directed by the Automated Voice System. What we did here was just to present our papers in certain order - Never mind about the specifics of arrangement, this will be sorted in the desired order by the staff in the counter. At this counter you'll need to have firstly, your printed BIL Letter, The form given to be filled, your International Passport Data page - 2 copies, and your Original International Passport and then you'll be requested to write in pen your email and phone number. All these will be inserted into a clear folder bag and handed back to you. I guess what really happens here is sorting and document arrangement just to ease the operation at the next counter. After this, you'll be re-directed to go the Submission Counter. At this point, you'll get a feeling that you may have been quite lucky because the Biometrics process for Express Entry is truly EXPRESS! Dont be surprised that you'll be called first before those who were there long before you but not under same category, probably for schooling, visiting visa etc. As usual, we were called again by the Voice System to Counter 10. We met this amazing guy whom him and I switfly bonded and made jokes together. Our document was keyed into the system without haste and before we knew it, he was done! some 5mins spent here, I guess. Finally, this next phase seem so dramatic - An experience that I haven't been able to understand what we actually went in there for. Well, it was the main deal - The Biometrics Capture Room! "Yippie...we'll be done in a short while", I said. As always, we waited for the Voice System again - Our ever-present assistant. The sweet-tone lady called our Ticket Number CNI---3 for what will be the last time, and we all stood up to proceed to the capture room but, we were told "Only one person at a time" - Well guided you might say. So madam went in first as I had to stay with my kid and before I could make a call she was out! Me: Did they chase you out? lol - She was done. I went in and took mine, the lady? "Tight-faced" but somehow got smiling as I was in awe of how the process went. You'll be told to raise your both hands up just like in movies when a criminal is being apprehended with the scream - "raise your hands up!", well she didn't yell but all others activities followed the same procedures. I raised both hands up, flipped them upon instruction, looked up to a black camera at the top right hand corner, and then she ordered me to have a seat. While starring at those points, several photographs of your hands, height, eye color etc are being taken in silent mode - This is a topnotch technology! After seating, she took a no-flash photograh - Shoulder up, chin down. And lastly, I was told to do an All fingers-print - similar to that done at the Police Office for PCC - but this time on a machine, much like that used when you go for PVC registration. All 10 finger were taken - Right Hand 4 fingers together first, then followed by Left Hand 4 fingers and lastly, the 2 thumbs together - in a 4-4-2 formation. And boom, we were done! At this Room you'll be given a yellow paper roll ticket similar to the famous white colored "BET9ja ticket" (don't ask) - This is quite long, anyway. This special ticket will be stapled to the Photocopy of your International Passport Datapage and you'll be given your Original International Passport as well. Finally, you'll be told to come along with it whenever you're asked to bring in your Passport - The Request for Passport notification - popularly known as PPR. At this point, I felt, indeed this is becoming real! Eventually, someday I will have to submit the passport for stamping. Ultimately, for long I have often believed that much of the phases in this journey comes with stress, but the turn in events, an example of the Medicals, and now the Biometrics are indications that certainly the process is getting faster, better and no longer delayed - The previous business as usual. To buttress this, our medicals was completed in about 2 hours much like the Biometrics, which was done in just 30mins! And, this is now the new "business as usual". In a wrap What is required; - Book early online CLICK HERE - BIL Letter (per recipient) - VFS Appointment Letter (per recipient) - 2 Photocopies of the International Passport Datapage - The Original International Passport What is not required; - NO Photograph/passport photograh - NO Invitation Letter/ITA - NO Money [if you already paid in full up front at submission/AOR] I hope this is helpful. And, I'll like to thank you for reading. 68 Likes 45 Shares |

olasworld: My brother spoke to someone in unilag about his and he was told that unilag or those in record dont bother to search for the email sent by Wes instead they wait for the hardcopy to arrive then they reply the verification request. Except you know someone that can fast track it for you. After sending verification,Wes requested for another verification and my brother called unilag. He was told that he's not the only one having such issue and they dont know why WES is asking for second verification. My brother called WES and was told that there's a particular person or connect they have in unilag that must reply the verification mail, that they dont accept it from any other person. My brother called unilag and told them what WES said So unilag said they would do a meeting today and tell WES * whatever they want tell WES sha* however, they intend to reply all the verification mail from WES from Monday. I hope this helps but please still go to unilag for more update or someone to help. 2 Likes |

NEROSKY:Nysc can serve as work experience if it's in the acceptable NOC, if your business is registered and/or you have some other forms of documentation, you can check if your duties match any of the acceptable NOC, just read more about NOC and you will get the drift Since you have HND, I assume you already have ND which is two or more certificate, you can choose between 8777 and 8.5 8 7.5 7.5 LRSW All these will help you to know what to choose filing the CRS form 2 Likes |

Hello house, I am in pains! Just checked my IELTS results and I had 7.5 in listening, still don't know how. LSRW : 7.5,7.5,8,7.5 overall 7.5 However, I need the magic 8 in listening... with this score i'll be on 415, but the 8 in listening will take me to a whooping 473 is it advisable to remark only listening? I really don't want to take this exam again and I dont have time either. I'm confused Exam was paper based with MOD 4 Likes |

You can be proactive and include the form in your submission or you can wait till you're requested to. Some people have gotten PPR without filling the form while others have been sent ADR to submit.

|

Hi Team, please I have a quick question. I have gotten ITA but the earliest date for my medical appointment is 17th of March while the last day for submission of documents is 23rd of March. There is a good chance that the medicals won’t be ready before submission. The hospital has refused to give an earlier date. Please what is the best way around this? |

We are in same boat o. I am extremely sad: LSRW: 7.5, 8, 8.5, 7. Overall: 8. I have requested a remark for L and W. If L doesn’t change, W may and i will get a refund. You can do remark for L, S and W. So if one change, you will at least get a refund. All the best! ogbeniDM: |
