missnigeria: Good grades don’t matter here. The good grades I’m asking you to get is to thank the person that’s paying for your masters. Don’t use your two years to look for work. Work during your two years. I want you to set your mind to gaining experience no matter how small, so you can excel. Who know, you may end up being a head hunter not even a bank manager. Setting your mind to big (especially for a course that the brits can do and you won’t get special treatment for) may break your heart if you don’t get there (please I’m not saying don’t aim for the stars o, aim but be comfortable with failing too because failure is the best teacher). Somehow previous answer = somehow previous question 2 Likes |

Kolping: I think banning it because they believe it is not accurate is a silly reason. If they arrest the wrong person, shey they will free the person when they investigate and find out that they arrested the wrong person? They can’t even arrest without the person being a suspect first. If however they want to ban it because of the invasion of privacy, yes that one makes sense but if the rollout can stop people like hitler before a huge massacre or if it can stop pedophiles, please I support it. |

Apt. Didn’t get a job until after 9 months that seemed to last for an eternity. It’s frustrating to be in that position. beryour: 2 Likes |

Good morning. Please my Parents are about submitting their visiting visa application in Nigeria and then I discovered some of their original documents like birth certificates and declaration of age are with me in UK. Please can I send the original copy to the Nigerian Embassy in London or I should just send via DHL to Nigeria so that they submit in person? |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Bourne007(m): 9:43am On Jan 26, 2020 |
How come you have them here lol If they are required docs (usually not), you can scan and upload on the portal anyways. Intl passports are preferable to these docs you mentioned STENON: |

Bourne007:lols. Even me self no understand , thou they have used intl. Passport but needed scanning and submitting this birth certificate as part of their document. I came with it thinking they will ask of it in my school or POE as evidence of my ties with Nigeria |

LagosismyHome: Ok, Please can I carry palm oil, Maggi cube, dry and stockfish, garri, beans, beans flour, cocoyam flour etc. |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by LagosismyHome(f): 12:16pm On Jan 26, 2020 |
jesudaughter: Everything here is allowed.... but I wont carry palm oil. Its easy to see here in the UK and not too expensive. Carrying it from naija you run a risk of it spilling and making a mess everywhere 2 Likes |

Hey friends As a single guy planning to visit the UK for 10days next month, first time trip to the UK. Which city is the best to stay. Note: I'm coming all alone, I dont have any relatives or friends over there. Is Airbnb is a better option to explore the city or I should just do hotel? |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by mamacajah: 2:58pm On Jan 26, 2020 |
micluv111: Well, it depends on your budget, the city in question and how much you really want to spend. both options are good, it's only with airbnb, you must pay immediately... but with hotels, you can get the ones with free cancellation up to 1 day before arrival.. |

Aphrodite007: I dont think it's a silly idea since they know its not accurate. Arresting an innocent person and releasing them later can have devastating impact on innocent people. And black/coloured people will be the most affected by this face recognition system. Else they will end up paying out every time! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-south-scotland-51255287 1 Like |

mamacajah: Thank you so much for the advice. Funds is not an issue. I'm looking between London and Birmingham |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by mamacajah: 6:04pm On Jan 26, 2020 |
micluv111: Both are good locations and I stand to be corrected, both also have good flight offers sometimes... so you do research on flight cost as well in your cost planning. I have only passed by birmingham, so I can't say much about it. However I have been to London severally, so here's my advice. depending on your max budget for accommodation, sight seeing and the like, I would suggest using booking.com and checking these areas - leyton, croydon, ilford or if you don't mind using an accommodation shared facilities, then london central is also a good choice. for leyton, its close to straford, so you would spend less on transport and there are lots of shopping malls at stratford as well as sight seeing. Its also easier to get to central london from stratford. Google on places to see in london..the site visit london has good advise on places to see and even on a budget as well. croydon is also a nice location as well and the rates are relatively okay. when we stayed there, there was a daily local market close by and all the big stores you would find at oxford street or even stratford. Also the two train stations were close by and we were able to save money on transport and feeding as well. I really enjoyed myself there. If travelling alone, you can plan for 400 - 500 on accommodation.. looking at 3 stars lodgings.. however, if you don't mind the price, then choose from 4 stars and above. for feeding, depending on your preference, either you buy food outside or you cook. if you plan to cook, then I advise you get a self catering accommodation..if not, then a hotel that at least comes with breakfast, so you will only sort out your lunch and dinner. Fair warning.. you will spend quite a lot that way! for transportation, once you arrive the airport, try to buy an oyster card at the ticket stand because you need to pay for transport in the city. for communication, get a lyca mobile or lebara sim at any asian shop and top up. That's it for me. Others can chip in with their advice or if you can try, read up some of the previous pages to get more information. Enjoy your vaction. Prepare for the cold and now the season of sales and discounts is over, so you would most likely see new goods on display but only at original price. 5 Likes |

mamacajah: Thank you very much for the insights... I'm so grateful! For flight ticket I saw 235k emirate airline Lagos - London, is that reasonable or can i still get cheaper ones? For the cold,,,, I think I'm used to it or is it colder over there than Toronto? For food...... I'm too lazy to cook, will prefer eatery, I hope nija restaurants plenty for London o 1 Like |

micluv111: In that case. Get a central location like London Bridge area very close to rail, tube and bus links and direct hop to naija restaurants central. And to cap it great hotel at the Shard with fine dining options on it's topmost floor |
