Abeg who know about this Pablo Mari that is coming for medical. 7-10m for a 26yo CB is kinda funny, why loan out Dino then.
Well as long as mustafi won't start again I don't care cheesy

lol... Abeg o. If na only pressing, mk we kukuma carry guen go 9. For all lacazette press, I hardly see him dispossess a player (only very very few times). Work of a false 9 is to link your two wingers(or attackers) with intricate passes and precision. Yet he fails in this regard too, and he's always failing to be a frequent goalscorer. All I hope is that he should up his game. I'm not talking about his goal drought here, I'm talking about his overall play. He's being poor
Absolutely LACAZETTE has been awful of late.

Maybe he should start coming from the bench henceforth

What we really needed to be grateful that it was martinelli in that position for the first goal instead of Pepe or lacazette.
Lacazette would have ran and ensured someone touch him for him to fall, while pepe might even wait for azpilicueta to come meet him so that he can dribble him. Lol.
Bellerin and martinelli appreciation post.

Also, I wish Pepe and lacazette should just up their game, especially offensively. They're mostly the ones that's making our attack look bleak.

Who noticed the understanding between martinelli and saka on that left wing?
Well spoken in truth.

I feel like both should continue to feature even if Kolasinac is back except Tieney

Mykola Matviyenko: 5 Things to Know About the £30m-Rated Defender Linked With Arsenal

He's...Creative?

He's a Regular Fixture For the National Side

Versatility

His Reading of the Game is His Best Asset

Arteta Courted Him For Manchester City

Something that has become commonplace with the Arsenal defenders is their remarkable ability to be unaware to incoming danger. Whether it is a player running in behind them or losing their marker from a set piece, it's cost the Gunners plenty of goals over recent years.

Which is probably why Arteta is very keen on Matviyenko. He's always aware of his surroundings, rarely gets caught out and is masterful at reading where a pass is going and intercepting accordingly.

He averaged almost three interceptions per game in the Champions League this season (WhoScored), with an extra 88.7% pass accuracy - all traits which would fit swimmingly into Arteta's new-look side.

Spaniard in London to complete £7.5m Arsenal move as Arteta closes-in on first signing

According to the Daily Mail, Pablo Mari is in London to undergo his medical and finalise a move to Arsenal after a £7.5m deal was agreed to sign the defender from Flamengo.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has made no secret of his desire to bring in defensive reinforcements this month as Arsenal have continued to be a shambles at the back throughout the campaign.

Calum Chambers won’t play again this season after suffering a knee ligament injury, Dinos Mavropanos has been loaned to Nurnberg while Shkodran Mustafi proved yet again why he shouldn’t be anywhere near the first team following his error against Chelsea.

We badly need another central defender to help us during the second half of the season and Mykola Matviyenko has been linked in recent days but Shakhtar Donetsk are reportedly wanting around £30m for the Ukrainian international.

It appears Arsenal have looked elsewhere and Mari has now emerged as the man we’ve gone for as the Daily Mail are one of several news outlets reporting that he’s in London to undergo his medical ahead of a move from Flamengo.

The 26-year-old was videoed arriving at Heathrow Airport with Arsenal technical director Edu on Saturday afternoon and he confirmed the move was on after telling Goal journalist Charles Watts he was looking forward to joining Arsenal.

Sky Sports News are one of several media outlet claiming Arsenal will sign Mari on an initial loan with a view to making it permanent in the summer. However, the Daily Mail suggests it will be a permanent deal THIS month after Arsenal agreed a £7.5m fee with Flamengo.

Quotes have been circulating on social media attributed to the Flamengo president and he says it will be a permanent deal, but we can’t verify those comments right now. Either way, it looks like Mari is set to join Arsenal this month and he’ll become Arteta’s first signing since he arrived as manager in December.

The Spaniard joined Manchester City in 2016 but failed to make a first team appearance and spent time on loan at Girona, NAC Breda and Alaves before joining Flamengo for £1m last summer.

The 6ft 3ins centre back has been a great success in Brazil as he helped Flamengo win the Brazilian League and Copa Libertadores before narrowly losing to Liverpool in the World Club Championship final last month.

Mari is left-footed and plays on the left side of two centre-backs so he should add some balance to our back four – although it will be interesting to see who he plays alongside if Arteta sees him as a first team regular.

Obviously he’s not a huge house-hold name but he isn’t exactly ‘one for the future’ as he turns 27 this year, so you’d expect him to be pushing for the first team relatively quickly – especially with how bad we’ve been at the back.

Barcelona changes their minds over a move for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
Arsenal has been handed a major boost in their bid to keep hold of their best players. Reports from Spain via Sport AS claims that Barcelona has changed their mind about making a move for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and they have turned their attention to Rodrigo Moreno instead.

The Spaniards had been linked with a move for Aubameyang after Luis Suarez got injured and was ruled out for the rest of the season.

However, Arsenal was prepared to fight to keep their captain and leading scorer beyond this season.

Barcelona reportedly considered how tough it would be to get Arsenal to do business over Aubameyang as well as the time it would take for him to adapt to the Spanish league, and they decided that it would be better to move for Rodrigo instead.

Rodrigo has been one of the most consistent scorers in Spain over the past few seasons and he represents a safer alternative to Aubameyang.

The same report claims that super-agent Jorge Mendes is spearheading the move and it is set to be announced soon.

Mikel Arteta will be relieved that his leading scorer can focus on playing for arsenal now.

If this turns out to be accurate it is certainly good news for Arsenal, however, if he continues to refuse to sign a new contract then one has to think that he will be offloaded in the summer. Hopefully, it will not come to that.

Aubameynag is simply too important to the team to lose.

I didn't really know much of the Pablo mari guy till this morning, tho YouTube videos may not be a true yardstick for judging how good a player is, but from the little I watched he's not a bad player.

He's 6 ft 3(just an inch shorter than van Djik who is 6 ft 4), he's a ball playing CB who is afraid of spreading the ball from the back to offensive players and he's quite good in the air.

My only concern is; he plays that same left side of CB where David Luiz thrives and I don't who will be Manning the position. Will David Luiz be shifted to the right hand side? Not to forget we have a certain Rob holding who thrives in that Same side of CB. In fact Sokratis seems like the only one in that CB role that plays on the right aside the injured chambers.

I get your point, those ones get thier levels, they don't expect their team go beyond certain stage..They celebrate days when the Ozil, Aguero,Sallah play on their ground even if they will lose.

For Arsenal, the target is winning trophies and competiting at the highest level,

okay for me, I want to be realistic, in the least, i want a team capable of doing something spurs did last year, win some big games in Europe, memorable nights, parade players who instils confidence in fans like Song,Hleb,Rosciky,Sanchez, carzola et Al.

All this, I can't see nor look like will see soon , so no much heart attached again to avoid ending in tears.
Nothing like heart attack brother when it comes to passion, patriotism and loyalty oooooo.

Look I have been a GUNNER since the year 1996 ooo

And what attracted me to Arsenal was the rhythmic sounding of the club's NAME-ARSENAL to that of the MANAGER-ARSENE when he was newly signed up as he declared interest in the Nigerian striker-Richard Owubokiri back then as read from the papers ooo

Ever since, no going back at all from my followership of Arsenal

Bros if this guy can displace luiz then it's good. After checking the last match again I concluded these guys are all the same, mustafi made a mistake and he foolishly added to it

Pablo Mari's friends confirm Arsenal transfer with emotional Instagram messages

The player's barber posted a picture with a caption which translates to: "May your journey be of great glory".

Meanwhile, another friend uploaded a picture of the defender with a Portuguese sentence which reads: "Will be missed a lot at Flamengo.

"Pablo Mari will reinforce the Arsenal."

Arsenal face Bournemouth in their FA Cup fourth round tie on Monday night, before resuming Premier League duties with a trip to Burnley on Sunday.

I don't think it will be a nice idea to sell both of them. because right now they are our only CBs that are fit

......, holding is still struggling, chambers is injured untill next year, saliba is new to the league, Mari might be average at best, mavro still not impressive and finnaly mustafi is the same old mustafi

....and if we bring in another world class CB in the summer, he might need time to adjust to the league

https://www.justarsenal.com/arsenal-players-pay-their-respects-to-nba-legend-kobe-bryant/233760

Arsenal players take to Twitter to give their respects to basketball legend Kobe Bryant.

This is not a usual type of post for JustArsenal but sometimes legends transcend different sports and Kobe Bryant is one such legend.

The 41-year-old LA Lakers legend died today along with five others in a helicopter crash just outside Los Angeles, shocking the sporting world.

Dani Ceballos and Alexandre Lacazette have already taken to Twitter to express their sadness and no doubt more Arsenal players will follow.
