There are some areas I have agreed or partially agreed with you. I am not just arguing to win argument. I have said our set pieces look weak to me. So may be we can give Kudos to Arnold. Nevertheless, we were scoring set plays last season when we had Fellaini, Lukaku and Smalling. Which makes one to ask, what has happened? We still have Mata who can cross well
Probably because OGS wants to break teams down without putting the ball in the air, something like low cross.

1. Nobody here has ever claimed that Rashford, Martial and James or Greenwood are at par with mane, salah and firmino. Not to talk of being better.
2. You're underestimating the importance of the extra bodies in attack especially against teams that sit back.
3. When a player is looking to cross, its ideal to have 1 or 2 more players in the box aside the striker. That's where the midfielders or defenders come in, depending on the moment
4. That's rarely the case when we play. In the past we had Ronaldo, Rooney, Teves, Saha, Chicha arriving at the box. At a time, Fletcher was doing that and delivering the goals.
5. In case you've forgotten, this is a gentle reminder. It's always important to have extra bodies in attack especially against teams sitting back.

1. This has been implied in the course of this argument like two times.

2. I am still waiting for someone to tell me where I ever said that only our forward should be in the opposition half. You guys purposeful want to misunderstand me to advance your arguments. I have said a zillion times that we are talking about primary functions. However, our AM and CMs still lead in chances created in Man United.

3. Our midfielders are usually in the build up play or trying to score. McTominay has 3 goals. Pogba has missed free header from inside the 6 yards box.

4. That was because Fletcher was a good header of the ball. Pogba would have scored some already he is a poor header of the ball like Martial, Rashford, etc. Fellaini use d to score from heading.

5. If we have not been having extra bodies, how come we have been playing more in the final third from the matches I watch? Our midfielders appear to even be involved in final third play than Liverpool midfielders.

But Arnold has created bulk of his Assists from corner kicks. Not from crossing

Salah and Mane have been closed to winning the Ballon D'or but where is any of our attackers?

Salah and Mane >>>> Rasfford and Martial. What I see these guys do, Mane, Salah, Sterling, is their ability to make the opposition defence get confused when they approach them zigzagly on the run. They know what to do where it matters most. Rashford is a very good dribbler on the run, but once in the tight box area he gets confused. Martial is weak far from the goal but a better dribbler near the opposition box with his close control. But none has what it takes to cause the big confusion with swift movement and close control in opposition box area

Missing big chances is not such an important stats compared to creating big chance. A player can miss a big chance he created for himself.

Trash as usual.

For a chance to be recorded as chances created, you have to create that chance for someone else. Nowhere in the history of footballing stats do you classify big chances created and big chances missed together.

If Mané dribbled 2 players to create a chance for himself to score, will they give him goal and assist? Your thinking nowadays is somehow Mr Elampiro..

Chances created in stats means the chances created for someone else to score.

What about when a player disposed an opponent to score a goal? Or when a player recovers a ball to score a goal? Or when a player capitalized on deflection (off its initial target)to score a goal? Or when a player reads a poor back pass from a defender to the goalkeeper to score a goal?

Any in case, what I meant is that there chances created for tap in, there are chances created for a striker to do an extra labour before he can score. Mane and Salah will more liekly score from a chance that required an extra labour like beating a last man, running half of the field when through, shaking defence, etc

Your first paragraph, in those situation it will be recorded as error leading to goal NOT chance created. In those situation, no one get assist for the goal.

There’s a reason why there’s chances created and “BIG” chances created.

Whoscored will award extra marks to the striker. For instance, Salah earned far more than the points earned from goal scored, when he scored against United. Whoscored noted his long run, holding off a marker and the going to score. If he dribbled a player in the process, whoscored would still add marks.

Going back to the argument, the chance created he I implied is the extra work done by a forward. Diego Maradona goal against England was Assisted by someone, but who talks about a pass given in own half? Maradona effort carrying the ball from his own half past 5 defenders to score is the kind of 'creating chance for self' I am talking about here. We know someone gave an Assist.

Woodward latest bright idea is to replace Ole with Southgate.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7929851/Gareth-Southgate-leading-contender-Manchester-United.html

This is what happens when a commercial executive rises too high in a football club and starts making football decisions.

May his days be long at Manure!

Are you sure about lampard?
Yeah, I'm very sure. The guy has performed incredibly well even without a single singing. No one expected Chelsea to be where they are now. With regards to fans agitations, that's how fans are wired. However, there are a lot of promises in how the team has responded to his managerial tactics. We could see the improvement in their play pattern with proper on-field coordination but opposite is the case with OGS; no pattern, no tactics. We all knew that the midfield was nonexistent at the beginning of the season but instead to the needful he was busy playing a 'good boy' game.

It quite unfortunate that it would take a radical nose diving for him to get sacked but with a defeat today and two more consecutively, he would definitely get the boot soon rather than later.

Why can't this coach use a different defender, is it until Maguire has injury before he does the needful.

..... Even against Oluyole FC, OGS still starts his first XI. What happens to Gomez and Chong?! Well the latter makes the Bench.
